Overall compnay found several leaks and make some repairs we choose not have additional work completed until we can have pool completely clean (debride at bottom and not being removed with pool cleaning). Wish the same company who found leak was able to clean as well but that was not their specialist.

We had problems within the year. They came out and did a pressure test on the pool plumbing and without warning sent us a bill for another $200 without telling in advance that there would be a charge. I sent them a check for 50% just to try to be fair but after that they refused to service us because we did not pay the full amount of the unauthorized bill. ASK OTHER PEOPLE IN THE SWIMMING POOL INDUSTRY ABOUT THSE GUYS - THEY HAVE A BAD REPUTATION. NOBODY LIKES THEM I FOUND OUT TOO LATE. Don't use these guys. I would recommend Florida Leak Locators. They are terrific.

"It upsets our company to see such a posting by any of our customers, but unfortunately, we cannot prevent someone from posting a grossly inaccurate report about us. As any Angie's List member can see from our previous reports, our company works hard to provide prompt, courteous, and professional service. Our particular office was even honored last year with the Angie's List Super Service Award. Many of our previous reports were submitted by Angie's List members referred by their pool supply/cleaning companies or pool builders also highly rated on Angie's List. Please DO feel free to ask around about our company, but please only ask competent and trusted pool service companies and reputable pool builders. Sadly, we also cannot prevent others from encouraging false reporting. However, we have to trust that the members of Angie's List will be able to see through such reports. This member's repair was actually completed in September 2002, not July 2003. The repair WAS guaranteed for 12 months, as was written on the repair paperwork. A leak detection was not done on his pool prior to the repair so we were never hired to find leaks in his pool prior to the repair (he had asked us to provide a bid for repair of the crack only). At NO TIME was service refused to this member regarding warranty work for repairs completed. The repair was checked in December 2002 after a phone call by the member stating that the pool was leaking again. Upon inspection, the crack repair was intact and was not leaking. We had already told the customer that if the crack repair was not leaking, we would need to do a leak detection in order to find other leaks in his pool since we had never checked the pool for leaks. Prices for the leak detection, if necessary, would have been given to the customer before any work was done. All pool plumbing and structures were then checked showing no leaks. The customer refused to pay for the leak detection as quoted and instead sent in $100.00, an amount he apparently felt was fair since we did a total leak detection on a pool that was not leaking. However, trying to never leave a customer dissatisfied, we did credit the customer's account for the balance in January 2003. We have heard nothing else from the customer until this report almost 6 and 1/2 years later. Unfortunately, we cannot erase the report posted by this member. We can only provide the facts and hope that our previous reports speak for themselves. Kevin Sliwa, President, American Leak Detection Pinellas County"

It was time to refinish our pool but also believed we had a leak around it after a hugh water bill and noticable evaporation. We contacted a pool company who was willing to do the refinishing but recommended American Leak to determine where the leak originated. The work order was amazing. Whoever took the order over the phone got down verbatim my husband's request. I believe this was very helpful to the technician. The repair he did stop the leak and allowed the pool company to refinish our pool and do the necessary pump work.

Based on our experience with this company fixing water leaks in our pool and spa, we immediately selected them to find and fix air leaks in our filter and cleaning lines. They are not inexpensive, but they are good at what they do.

"OUR COMPANY PERFORMED A COMPLETE LEAK DETECTION ON THE MEMBER'S POOL/SPA ON APRIL 2, 2007 (NO RECENT WORK). WE PRESSURE TESTED ALL OF THE POOL/SPA PLUMBING AND CHECKED ALL POOL/SPA STRUCTURES, INCLUDING DIVING HIS POOL/SPA. WE IDENTIFIED A LEAK ON A SPA JET LINE. THERE WERE NO OTHER LEAKS IN THE POOL OR SPA. WE INSTALLED 4 O-RING CAPS TO TEMPORARILY STOP THE WATER LOSS IN THE SPA UNTIL WE COULD SCHEDULE THE PERMANENT REPAIR. WE DID THE JET LINE REPAIR (WHICH INCLUDED A JET REPLACEMENT) THREE DAYS LATER. WE REFUNDED THE COST OF THE O-RING CAPS IN THE REPAIR PRICE. WE MUST HAVE ACCURATELY LOCATED AND REPAIRED THE LEAK IN THE MEMBER'S POOL/SPA SINCE THE OFFICE WAS NEVER CONTACTED BY HIM TO LET US KNOW THAT A PROBLEM STILL EXISTED. OUR OFFICE PRIDES ITSELF ON PROMPT, COURTEOUS, AND HONEST SERVICE. AS CONSUMERS OURSELVES, WE WOULD NEVER CONSIDER THAT KIND OF SERVICE "PRETTY STANDARD". This is one honest and fair minded company. I was very pleased with them in every way. After having been ripped off in the past by another leak detection company this one was a breath of fresh air.

There was difficulty with groundwater, but he was careful and took a couple of extra days in order to make sure the pressure was correct to make the repair. It looked great afterwards. No problems so far.

My initial contact with the company was with Kelli who exhibited a comprehensive knowledge of pool problems and provided outstanding service overall. Brett, the repair person was prompt, courteous, and obviously knew exactly what he was doing. He quickly isolated the problem, explained the options to me, and fixed the leaks. I would use this company again.

My call to the company was returned promptly. The individual on the phone explained exactly what procedures and costs were as well as warranty applicable or not. Technician arrived as scheduled & explained choices, performed work successfully. Would use again.

The best experience I have had with a contractor. The techs initials were KDS. I was not home when the work was done. He called me and explained in detail the completed work and suggested other problem areas that should be corrected (even though they were items that his company did not work on). I asked for suggestions on pool refinishing and he was very helpful and patient in his recommendations. The work was completed quickly and as promised. I would strongly recommend this company to anyone.

Their suggestions were well laid out and instead of pressuring me into paying them to make the repair, they urged me to consider replacing the pool (which I did). I appreaciated their honesty and guidance on how to choose a contractor for the new pool. I hope I never have the need to call them again, but if my new pool leaks, I WILL give them a call.

WE NEED TO RESURFACE THE POOL SOON, BUT WANTED TO FIRST FIND THE SOURCE OF A LEAK (OR LEAKS) THAT WAS CAUSING THE POOL TO LOSE ALMOST 1.5 INCHES A DAY (10 INCHES A WEEK). BRETT FROM AMERICAN LEAK DETECTION WAS VERY THOROUGH, AND SPENT A GOOD DEAL OF HIS TIME UNDERWATER. FORTUNATELY THE LEAKS ARE FAIRLY SIMPLE FIXES, AND PROBABLY WOULD HAVE BEEN REPAIRED WHEN THE POOL IS RESURFACED. BUT WE ARE GLAD THAT THE POOL WAS THOROUGHLY CHECKED AND WE ARE CONFIDENT THAT THERE ARE NO OTHER LEAKS.

THEY CAME WHEN THEY WERE SUPPOSE TO AND THE PERSON WHO DID THE WORK WAS VERY GOOD. HIS NAME IS KEVIN. HE WAS ABLE TO FIX THE LEAK AND REPAIR A BROKEN LIGHT. IT TOOK HIM 3 DAYS, BUT HE DID IT AND HE DID A GOOD JOB.

Buyer beware! Be very knowledgeable of their invoicing structure & the extent of your pool problem. I paid $325 for approximately 35 to 45 min. & was told, "this is what you need repaired but we dont do it." My leaks were at a water jet site & at the light, which were both visible. I had agreed to the initial $175 service charge but would have felt much more fairly treated if I had been told of the above cracks & given the choice of $325 charge for no repair. The office told me when I called concerning the amount of my invoice that this is a very specialized service. I was present while work was being done & $325 for such a short period of time was not that specialized. I have a simple fiberglass pool. My complaint is not against the service person but against the company & their policy for invoicing. I would never recommend this company. REBUTTAL: Owner gave member a $50 refund which member appreciated very much.

"AT THE TIME THAT THE CUSTOMER MADE HER APPOINTMENT, ALL PRICES FOR LEAK DETECTION SERVICES AND GUARANTEES WERE GIVEN TO THE CUSTOMER. THE CUSTOMER WAS TOLD THAT IF OUR COMPANY DID A COMPLETE LEAK DETECTION, WE GUARANTEED TO LOCATE LEAKS ON ALL TESTABLE SYSTEMS IF THE POOL WAS LOSING 1/4 INCH OR MORE PER DAY ABOVE EVAPORATION. SHE WAS ALSO TOLD AT THE TIME SHE MADE THE APPOINTMENT, THAT WE WOULD PATCH HER LEAK AND QUOTE A REPAIR IF POSSIBLE, BUT THAT WE WOULD NOT DO A REPAIR ON A FIBERGLASS POOL IF IT REQUIRED DRAINING TOO MUCH WATER FROM HER POOL. THE TECHNICIAN STARTED WITH A $75.00 SERVICE CALL TO CHECK THE POOL SKIMMER SINCE THAT WAS WHERE THE HOMEOWNER SUSPECTED THE LEAK WAS LOCATED. THE SKIMMER WAS NOT LEAKING, AND THE TECH INFORMED THE CUSTOMER WHAT THE PRICE WOULD BE TO COMPLETE THE LEAK DETECTION, TESTING ALL REMAINING PLUMBING AND STRUCTURES. THE CUSTOMER OK'D THE PRICE, AND THE TECHNICIAN PROCEEDED TO COMPLETE THE TESTING. AFTER ALL TESTING WAS COMPLETED, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THERE WERE TWO LEAKS BEHIND THE POOL LIGHT AS WELL AS A LEAK AT A JET WALL FITTING. FOR THE SAFETY OF THE CUSTOMER'S POOL, WE REFERRED HER TO A FIBERGLASS POOL SPECIALIST FOR THE REPAIRS SINCE IT WOULD REQUIRE DRAINING TOO MUCH WATER FROM THE POOL AND HE COULD "DE-WATER" THE GROUND IF NEEDED BEFORE DRAINING HER POOL. WE FOUND ALL LEAKS AS PROMISED, BUT THE CUSTOMER WAS UPSET BECAUSE WE WOULD NOT DO THE REPAIRS. WE THEN REFUNDED $50.00 TO THE CUSTOMER."

CALLED ON A FRIDAY...DISPATCHER EXPLAINED EVERYTHING, WHICH CALMED ME DOWN. KEVIN CAME ON MONDAY AND FOUND 3 LEAKS. HE SHOWED ME WHERE THEY WERE AND EXPLAINED EXACTLY WHAT WOULD HAPPEND AND HOW MUCH IT WOULD COST. REPAIRED THEM ON TUESDAY. VERY PROFESSIONAL!!! HAVING LEAKS IN YOUR POOL IS UPSETTING TO SAY THE LEAST, BUT THEIR CALM DEAMEANOR AND EFFICIENCY MADE ME FEEL 100% BETTER. VERY THROUGH AND COMPETENT FROM THE FIRST CONTACT UNTIL COMPLETION. RECOMMENDED BY LANDMARK POOLS.
