Description of Work: After explaining what the problem was it was clear that the customer service person hadn't listened. And then he proceeded to try to sell me a service that I didn't ask for. Then when I said I want to to talk to somebody else that I did want to talk to him any further I got hung up on.

Description of Work: "We had a problem with our water backing up in our house and they came at 9 am sharp and fixed our lines and also we had another toilet which leaked and he took it apart and the seal under the toilet was broken! He pulled the toilet up and I had wet floors so I had to get the walls,floor & cabinet. On 3/4/16 they came back to reinstall the toliet and it seemed to work fine but a couple of days later I noticed a small leak coming from the toliet! I called Ben Franklin yesterday and they are coming back today to look at it and hopefully fix it! | |The workers are very nice and pleasant to work with, so we'll see what happens! |"

Description of Work: Plumber indicated that hot water line was leaking (reason I called them) and he said that the entire house would have to be "re-plumbed". No firm estimate given but indicated several thousands. Called 2nd plumber and mentioned what the previous plumber stated about "re-plumbing house", said "must have been 'Ben Franklin", they're famous for that'". What a con!

Description of Work: Called 1-2-16. They advertise 24/7 with no extra charges for hold day, nights etc. The first appt available was 1-4-16. Oops no, I was told first "warranty" appt was Tues. We were told between 8 to 5. That is ridiculous, they must be able to calculate a smaller window. We stayed home all day, we called 2 times. The guy showed up after 6! Then said all parts and labor unless it was something we did wrong when draining or turning back on. That is NOT what we were told when we paid 1,033.00 for a new tank with a 9 yr warranty. The installer said All parts and labor Jo matter what. Well it was not our fault, it was calcium on an element. It was replaced at no cost fortunately. However waiting til Tues and the phone rep reiterated several times " for a warranty" appointment that was first avail. They could come right away if we wanted to pay for a service call. So if you are on warranty call your name is the last one in the pile and the last pile. Ridiculous waiting from 8 to 6 pm. They call before coming but I cannot go about my day or going out for lunch knowing the phone could ring at anytime. I said to the rep when he arrived that he must have had a bad busy day, his response "not really' well I did sitting around waiting for Ben Franklin as a second class " warranty" customer.

Description of Work: They were called because of a leak in a pipe. 4 or 500$. They told my single parent daughter the whole house needed redone. Struggling to get her fathers house ,who had just passed,fixed enough to love i . So they charged her over 5000$ after all said and done they admitted mistake and gave her a 500$ credit. I'm telling the world how bad ly they screwed over my family.

Description of Work: We added the additional annual check up to our last "incident" so they came out and checked all our plumbing. Nothing had to be done, except for a few turns of a wrench here and there. Awesome and professional and will highly recommend them!

Description of Work: Made a saturday appointment for a seriously leaky faucet. Appointment rescheduled twice. Upon arrival the tech hardly looked at the faucet and randomly diagnosed saying it would cost $500 to repair it. He promptly charged us there diagnostic fee and then left. We called the next day thinking the cost quoted was irrationally high. That was confirmed and we were told a manager would call us back to discuss a refund of their fee. No one ever called us back so we stopped the charge. Ben Franklin is not helpful but American express was.

Description of Work: came for the first time on this date. Had a toilet that wouldn't stop running. The minor toilet rebuild was $277 before the "discount". Proceeded to tell me about all my potential flooding hazards that they could prevent.

+ -1 moreI never needed a plumber until I needed one for this job. I saw the ads on TV and had a coupon for 30% off. So I thought I had it made but I was so very wrong. The service charge was $49 and I was told that it would NOT go towards the cost of the job. He said the was NO such thing as a FREE estimate. It took him less than a half hour to do both jobs. He also damaged the valve at the street and it took 4 hours to turn my water back on. Since then I found another plumber and he told me the job would have cost me $150 if I had call him. I didn't know any better than but I do now.
Description of Work: He clapped on a new drain in the bathroom and replaced a leaky 16 water pipe next to my washing machine.

+ -1 moreThe sales pitch for the annual plumbing contract was overbearing not to mention it was costly. He also quoted us two other plumbing tasks that bordered on highway robbery. It was good becasue he did not charge us overtime to come out on Saturday afternoon. However the price of his repairs were approximately twice that of his competition.
Description of Work: The plumber replaced a small section of CPVC piping that had a slow leak. The work took approximately 45 minutes to perform.

After telling them I wanted just a simple fix not a bathroom remodel done I asked them to leave. He proceeded to negosiate the price. Seeing it was getting late we agreed on something close to $300 for a part you can get for under $15 at a home improvement store. The flapper and water line he used wasand quot;the top of the lineand quot;.
Description of Work: There was a small leak in the bathroom -the toilet. It probably needed just a new waste supply line.

Description of Work: My mom used Ben Franklin Plumbing to sculpt through the vent for root issues. They also noticed that there was a build up in the toilet which was causing things to clog up so they installed a new toilet.

Description of Work: He did good work and we ended up buying a water softener which increased the price overall. He did extra work and he was extremely knowledgeable about plumbing. We had a leak in the wall with damage to the drywall which he took care of in a professional way and it was completed by 6pm on the same day. I would use them again.

Description of Work: I needed a complete repipe, and I was in an awkward position of needing to get estimates from multiple plumbers on the only day I was available, then would rely on friends checking on results of the work a few weeks later. The price was in the same ballpark (or better) than the other estimates, and their work was excellent - despite me not being there to review and approve. These guys were a good choice.
