I called Josh this morning to either repair or replace a deadbolt between our laundry room and garage which wasn't working properly. He was at our house within 15 minutes, and replaced the old lock (a builder standard) with a much sturdier lock. He also rekeyed the new lock so that our old key (which also works a deadbolt on our front door) could continue to be used on both locks. The job took less than an hour, he was neat and pleasant, and cleaned up the area when finished. I would use him again and recommend him highly.

On 9/17/23 I had to use the service of Preferred Locksmith, LLC because while I was out of town, my camera captured an image of someone in my condo who had entered using a key. On two prior occasions I came home and suspected that someone may have been in my condo but I was unsure so I installed cameras, and sure enough the stupid culprit returned. At 2:30 AM, Preferred Locksmith Service, LLC came to my condo and changed the dead bolt in a few minutes. Josh, the owner, was very professional and efficient. It was clearly obvious that he was a professional. He even brought his 10th grade son along who he is training to follow in his footsteps. I truly appreciate the excellent service that Preferred Locksmith provided and I heartily recommend their services to everyone who needs a locksmith.

We just closed on our home and needed the locks changed. However, the front door had some kind of security code keyless lock to enter, and the previous owner had no manuals how to change the numbers. Also the front door also had a key just in case of battery failure, but the key didn’t work. I never used Angie’s List before, but Preferred Locksmith Services had very good reviews and decided to have them come out. The owner, Josh came with his helper (his son) twenty minutes early . He called the company for instructions to add, change, and delete the security codes since we had no manuals, and was able to install new locks on the system just in case of battery failure. He also replaced the locks which were not working in the garage, gave us a set of three keys. He also changed the four batteries in the keyless lock, showed us how to do it in the future, and gave us clear details how to change the codes if we want to in the future. Josh said he is on call 24/7 and it’s a real pleasure to have someone as competent and trustworthy when you need a good locksmith. We also felt that his prices were very reasonable for his time and expertise.
