A lot of promises at the start but then failed to fulfill providing the service at the specific day of the week that had been agreed and emphasized since the start. We had to change to another pool service company. Overall, the staff was courteous.

The company first came in with the owner named Adam and told us that Pool Pro will come weekly and do the maintenance and it will be $75/ month. They came the first week and Adam himself was the one who came. There was some green in the pool so they applied bleach to the pool and the next day another staff came. Thereafter, they came in every week and one of those weeks they replaced the filter which is model 1750. Adam said it will cost $110 so we said okay. Another week, they said the pool needs phosphate and we were surprised that we were being charged for it when at the beginning we were informed all chemicals were covered. But since we have kids and want a safe pool we went ahead knowing that they will charge us $22 as quoted by Corrie. That week, we were so disappointed because Corrie left the child safety gate opened, we have two children. Another week the circuit box was left open and it was a rainy day so the box was soaking wet and we only found out about it when we had to turn off the pump. Long story short after a month, we were sent the first bill, to our shock it was for $393 broken down as follows: $260 for filter and installation, shock treatment for $100 and phosphate remover $34. We contested this bill because Adam claimed he didn't realize we had a 1750 filter. He was the one who cleaned the filter on the first visit and again Corrie cleaned it the next day. $260 for a filter that costs $105 retail. Even other pool maintenance companies were blown away when they got told of this charge. Then the shock treatment which the company claims they performed the first week because our pool was all green. We asked Adam and Reba during interview how much it will cost during interview to get the pool cleaned they said it's part of the maintenance and we should just enjoy the pool. And Adam himself quoted that " the pool doesn't look too bad" after we noted that the old owner did the pool maintenance by himself. The first visit that Adam came he never said that we will be charged $100 and Adam himself noted that our pool is in good condition compared to a lot of other pools they have to service for new homeowners. Long story short, this bill is still under dispute and has not been paid since our pool was not all green, it was a little bit green because it was not treated for two weeks due to the sale of the house. This pool was actively being used by the old owner we purchased it from. Pool Pro acknowledged and discounted the filter to $110 citing that they will honor what they had quoted, otherwise, it should really cost that $260. They changed the bill to $250 with all the adjustments and now after a week that they made the bill to 250 they raised it to $284, charging us for phosphate twice $22 and $34 (applied on a different date but we were not made aware of the charge). We are new homeowners and Pool Pro was the first company we went to because of their ad in the mail for $65 per month. Yes, it was the cheapest we found but we now know that because of this they have charged us in other ways to make more money. Their pricing is very bad and you don't know how much you'll get hit until you see your bill. Plus, security and safety for your children, that is a major issue. Needless to say we are now with a new company. They also lack major technical knowledge, we have asked them questions that they gave us answers to and we now just found out by virtue of interviewing a few pool maintenance companies that they have no clue what they are talking about.
Description of Work: Pool Pro came weekly to do pool maintenance. They replaced the pool filter.

My pool pump was no longer working right. The pool timer had been broken for a while but I was just running it manually since I wanted to postpone spending money on that. I called all of the highly recommended vendors on Angie's list and none would come to my location. Leslies pool would come but there was a charge of $100 just for the visit, and they could not guarantee that the equipment prices would be the same as online, so I thought that was way too risky.I took a chance on Pool Pro which is not reviewed here, and, Keith called back right away, and was out the next day. There was no charge for the evaluation. He offered me a package deal for the pump and to replace the timer as well (I do not think he liked the idea of leaving something not working). The price was definitely more than fair. The repair was scheduled for the following Tuesday (the only day they do repairs) but was moved to Wednesday because they fell behind do to the horrible weather (heavy rain and flooding) Halloween weekend.Their repair tech is fantastic, sharp and professional, he even cleaned out the entire area, and all of the equipment is now working great., I also hired them for weekly pool service and the jury is still out on that.
