Contacted Rome on Monday morning after one of our A/c units caused a short in our breaker box. We had the breaker box replaced on Monday and Rome showed up on Tuesday at 8 am with 2 new Ruud units. At least 5 men worked all day and completely replace everything. They did a wonderful job in one day.

Great fast service considering it was after 8:00 on a Sunday Evening. Our serviceman explained everything and was completely professional.
My ac was checked last month, by the company that I bought it from.  They were not professional in installation or my check-up.
I joined Angies and I am glad I did .! I did not mind spending extra.  The temperature in Delray Beach was in the 90's and the humidity gave me a horrible headache.

We had used RomeAire before so were pleased with the honesty of their service with us on a previous visit that was relatively inexpensive. We chose to go with them again based on that first service. On this service they were exceptionally prompt in returning our call for service. They came out that same day, quickly diagnosed our problem and gave us options concerning extending the life of the current unit or purchasing new. Regardless of our choice they made it very clear that our initial service charge would be credited toward final costs. We chose to have a new unit installed and made an appointment to have it done within less than 24 hours. RomeAire later called me on that same day to say they could fit us in a sooner. They were in and out of my house between my lunch hour and quitting time. I came home a day earlier than expect to a cold house and their 2 trucks leaving my driveway (and my husband stating how impressed he was with the technicians that had performed the work). Everything cost exactly what they said it would. The work was done incredibly quickly, cleanly, professionally and with no disruption to others that were home at the time. I will be using them again in the future.

They completely respected the fact that I have multiple chemical sensitivity and they worked with me. They delivered the equipment and I was able to air it out so that if they were any fumes from chemicals from the oil used in that it would have time to dissipate before they installed it in the living area of my home. They are very considerate.

Tech made a service call as my condenser fan motor was very noisy for a couple of weeks, then only intermittently working for a few days.  Errol, who came out to look at my unit was professional, relaxed, and courteous.  The diagnosis was made, it was a new condenser fan motor I needed, and I was quoted a price of $495 plus the $75 service call fee.  For a part that costs $80-$120 and a job that takes a half hour!  I told Errol to wait 5 minutes for me to make a decision - I checked the internet and made sure I was right about the price, and called the Rome Aire office to see if they would drop the price at all.  They said they would come down to $475, but that was it, he wouldn't go any lower.  I came back out and told Errol I'm not going to have the a/c serviced with Rome Aire.  Errol was friendly, he said he understands my position and the company's as well.  He graciously put the old motor back in, I paid the $75 service call fee, and he left.
I got the fan motor replaced the same day from a different company for less than half the price Rome Aire quoted me.  The new motor works great and is not waking up the neighbors every time my a/c kicks in.  I saved myself $320 over Rome Aire's price.

November through March, when temperatures are cooler, are especially tough financial months for S. Florida air conditioning companies. "Rome Aire Services has a 30-year history of providing high quality service and providing that service with the highest degree of fairness and honesty is our most valued tenet. We welcome new customers like the member and view their first call as the introduction to a long service relationship. The member called Rome Aire to provide confirmation of the findings of a previous a/c service provider. The technician dispatched is a long-time employee of Rome Aire with extensive experience in air conditioning and pool heater repair. His equipment inspection and experience with this type of motor is that the motor replacement was only one of two problems: The control board may not initially display itself as a secondary contributor to the problem but could likely present continued problems in the following months, as we have experienced with other clients who have only replaced the motor. The member was quoted standard rates of $75 for the first half hour and $50 for any additional half hour. During the call, the customer also asked if it would be better to replace the system. In response, our technician took pictures and all the measurements necessary to provide a quote for replacement, as well. Our quote for the evaporator motor alone was $700 + on the technician’s expert recommendation, an additional $550 to prevent customer dissatisfaction and inconvenience when secondary problems occurred with the board. We warrant all parts installed by us as well as our labor for one year from the date of repair. The motor alone would have been $45 lower than the customer eventually paid to another company. In addition, the $135 for the initial 2+ hour service call would have been applied toward the $1,250 motor & board replacement. A quote for replacement also was provided after our technician consulted over the phone with management supervisors who were able to evaluate the photos and measurements he provided via I-phone. It is, indeed, sad when a customer fails to first address questions that could best be discussed with their service providers before publishing erroneous information that reflects badly on both the service provider and the customer."

"We are confused and saddened by this review. As a company celebrating their 30th year in business, we value our good reputation in Broward and Palm Beach Counties and we work very hard to provide our customers with quality products and the best possible service. The member called for service on 3/20/12 and requested service for the following day, 3/21/12. Our dispatch staff scheduled the call and our technician arrived at 9:08 a.m., found the unit “completely frozen” and alerted the member that our tech would have to return after it was de-iced later that afternoon. Upon our return our technician found a leak in the evaporator coil, recommended replacing the system and gave the customer temporary cooling and that same day provided a quote for replacement. Nearly 3-1/2 months later, we received a call to schedule the roof-top replacement installation on 7/12. The member never returned our call from 7/20/12 to schedule our free Quality Check and that work order was retired. HVAC contractors know Rheem and Ruud are sister companies that manufacture at the same plant, just finalize their products in different colors and with different name badge. Their warranties are identica, as well as all components. Pricing from distributors to contractors is the same or negligible. Consumer magazines have their own criteria of judging products and contractors certainly are not privy to their process. More than 300 installations are scheduled and completed each year by the Rome Aire team of Customer Service Reps, Service Managers and Technicians working diligently with residential and commercial customers to provide competitive estimates, install the most reliable products and schedule those installations with the customer’s busy schedule in mind. We pride ourselves on our ever-growing list of long-time customers whose trust we’ve earned and who consistently refer to us their friends, family and associates."

He arrived a little late due to problems at the previous job but the dispatch center kept me informed.   Once he arrived he totally made up for his lateness as I had an excellent experience with Ted.  He educated me on how I can do minor maintainence in the future and find the uncommon filters needed for my unit.
I was told that the company will be following up with me to help me locate the filer needed for this unit. 
I would highly recommend this company.

The a/c in my rental apartment had been performing intermittently much to my renter's chagrin. I checked Angie's List and found a local a/c company, Rome Aire, and called and they were very pleasant and a date was organized for them to come and look at the unit. They arrived on time. It was diagnosed that the run capacitor was faulty and needed to be replaced along with the thermostat. The technician was thorough and went over everything he was doing with my tenant. When work was completed and ready to be billed out, Rome, the owner called me and went over the bill line by line. Great work, great customer service! I will definitely use Rome Aire in the future for my rental apartments and my own hom

My one year old AC system froze up causing me great concern.  After I couldn't reach the guy who did the install, I checked references on Angie's List and went with Rome who had great reports out of the Boca Raton area.  I was very pleased with the results.  While the technician could not identify a specific problem, if you think about it, that's good news.  I knew he was honest for not trying to snow me into doing an expensive procedure I didn't need.  He estimated I had an obstruction in the duct work, which makes sense because several of the vents blow at very low volume.  Anyway, I haven't brought them back to peer into the ducts just yet as I haven't had another freeze up, but if and when I determine to have the system fixed (I'm going to run a plumbing camera in there myself rather than start pulling duct work apart), I will not hesitate to use Rome for any needed repairs.  Gary was the technician and Greg, the manager, called a few days later to inquire if everything was still working.  Very pleased with the service and would use again.

They are good.  They came over in the evening and charged me only $45 for what another person left behind.  They were quick and the guys knew what they were doing. They were polite and they made sure everything was working and they are just nice people to do business with.  The first time I used them they came up and did something. They were reasonable and they didn't try to ooze you. You got to pay what you have to pay. The guy who gave me an estimate was right within his estimate.  Sometimes people say that I didn't know that this would come up and the price would go up from the estimate. I got the estimate over the phone and I told him what it is going to be.  They explained to me what it was and what he had done. He over did the job.  He checked out my air conditioner and he was just very customer service oriented which you don't get too many people doing. They were very professional. Stan was the guy who came out and he was very good.

About 7:00Pm my air conditioner shut off. I couldn't wait until morning, in this summer's heat. I checked Angie's list and called Rome, who said they would be here in about 1/2 hour and quoted me $120.00 for the call. 30 minutes later (amazingly to me in just the time they stated) a technician named Mr. Kestone arrived. He was extrremely professional, and seemed very knowledgable. He asked if he could use my 8 foot step ladder instead of using his much larger extension ladder he he had with him, and went right to work as if he knew exactly what he was doing. He checked the air conditioner, and air handler, and found condensation wasn't flowing down the drain pipe, and had built up enough to shut off the switch. He vacuumed out the pipe, and showed me the clog, suggesting I have it serviced every 6 months, but didn't try to sell me a service contract. He also suggested I add bleach to the pan, or use my vaccuum to clean the drain every 3 or 4 months. I was worried about the bill, because on the phone they said they charge by the hour, but he charged me the original estimate of $120.00. I was astounded, because I have had problems with other air conditioner companies and their so called technicians in the past, but very pleased with his knowledge, expertise, professionalism, and integrity. He made sure to close the opening to my attic in the garage, and re-turned my step ladder to exactly where I had it before, without my reminding him to do so. That really pleased me. If this is the kind of professionalism and service Rome provides through its other technicians like Mr. Kestone, I would certainly call them again, and highly recommend them to anyone who needs emergency service like I did after regular working hours, and doesn't want to pay a fortune for that service. Excellent marks for Mr. Kestone and Rome all the way around. Please use my name if you'd like.
