City Furniture - Boca Raton

I bought a couch and a loveseat. The couch is a convertible, and it does not close properly. I have had them come to my house 4 times. They had been really good about coming over to look at the furniture. One person told me I had to punch the pillows to get them to close properly. I went to the store yesterday and asked if someone would show us on the store model. They don't have the couch in store anymore. I asked them to come over and show my cousin how to close the couch properly and the manager told me there was nothing they could do for me. I called customer service and they also told me there is no defect, and there is nothing they can do. It is not a warranty issue, or a defect. The repair man was able to put the couch back together, but I am still unable to get the pillows to match back up. My experience has been wonderful with them until now. I had never had any problems with their service. The recent events are unfortunate and it has turned me off from using them or recommending them in the future. I have sent several friends and family through the past couple years and I will no longer be doing that.

Went to the Boca Raton showroom to look at leather loveseats. We found one we wanted to purchase and found a salesman in store. We then went to a computer terminal for the sale. During the sales process, the salesman recommended we purchase an additional $69.99 package which include cleaning chemicals, a 3 year in home stain removal warranty (if we could not remove the stains ourselves) and an additional sprayed on stain guard solution which was applied before it was wrapped to be delivered to their warehouse. The salesman also said that the warehouse would know to pull the pretreated furniture and not the untreated furniture. When we arrived at the warehouse for pickup we asked if they would know if they were pulling a treated piece of furniture VS an untreated piece. The warehouse associate who pulled the furniture said he has worked for the company for 8+ years and has never heard that there were pre-treated furniture that was different from untreated furniture. Today, I returned to the sales store with the original sales receipt and a label which was attached to the outside packaging of the loveseat. I spoke to a store supervisor to ask if there were additional stain guard chemicals applied to furniture for which I was told by the salesman was applied before packaging. She explained that there was NOT additional stain guard chemicals applied before packaging to any leather furniture. At the end of our discussion the store supervisor admitted that the salesman should not have said that additional stain guard chemicals were applied and apologized for this. She did not offer a refund or partial refund. I feel we were mislead by the store salesman in his statement that additional stain guard chemicals were applied to some pieces and that the additional $69.99 would assure us that we would receive a piece with that applied. Had we have known that additional chemicals were not applied, we most likely would not have paid extra for the supplied cleaning chemicals with 3 year in home cleaning warranty. On a positive note, the loveseat appears to be of good quality and what we wanted for our home.
