Shaun Stehlik of Father & Son Lawn and Tree Services knocked on my door telling me the previous owner had used him to cut trees, trim bushes, etc. He had his truck parked across the street for a few days, and said he was doing work for the neighbors. I told him I would think about it; the next day (again) he rang my bell and asked if I wanted my tress trimmed, this time I said yes. I said I wanted the trees that were overhanging onto the house trimmed, we discussed a price and he came back the next day to do the job and was paid in full via check. He said he noticed my gutters were full of debris and he would clean them out and add some kind of foam that is used to prevent the gutters from becoming clogged and I would never have to worry about the gutters again. It was a lifetime warranty. That sounded good to me, I hired him to install the gutter foam, trim trees, hedges and add new mulch and removal of all debris from property. Since I was going to New York for medical reasons I paid him in full $800.00 CASH, because he said he was starting the job the next day and would be sending me pictures of his work progress and that I would be very pleased and the job would be completed by the time I got back from New York. Obviously this was a mistake but up until this point he had done what he had committed to do. However the job was never done, he never came back to complete the work. I did not give it much more thought assuming that the job had been completed, but after 5 days away, I called him to check on the progress, and left a voice message, in fact I left several and sent an email. They never answered my calls, until over a month later when I called him from a different number and he told me his truck broke and was just repaired, he was starting work again and promised to be at my house on Thursday, August 22, 2013. I waited all day and he did not show up, I called him twice that day and it went straight into voice mail. I have tried calling him numerous times; he never returns calls or shows up. I informed him I wanted my $800.00 cash back since I had to hire someone else to do the job. I have been cited by County Code Enforcement as well as the Community Board for not having the landscape trimmed according to the bi-laws. The Committee was complaining so I had no choice but to pay someone else to do the job. I also paid them to finish the trimming job that had been paid to do. Ultimately I paid twice to have the job completed. I have reported him to the Sherriff?s department of Citrus county and was informed that I am the 5th case filed against Father & Son Lawn and Tree services. Also, I have reported him to the Better Business Bureau, where other complaints other than mine were documented and came to find out that this company is neither accredited from the Better Business bureau or insured and licensed, as it says on the company?s business card.
