I chose Sunbelt Tree after they were highly recommended by my landscape maintenance contractor. And after reading all the glowing accolades on Angies List, I felt that choosing this company was a "no brainer." Paul presents a can-do attitude and seemingly infinite knowledge about tree work. He led me to believe he would be on site the entire time, and in fact insisted that I be home and available as well so he could consult with me as the job progressed. He also assured me they would "rope down" any limbs large enough that if dropped could do damage to the landscape below. On the chosen day the crew arrived like a small army going into battle, and certainly made short work of the job. In fact they did a nice job on 90-plus percent of the property and cleaned up well before leaving. However, the problem I'm now left with is that one of my larger laurel oaks in the back yard is practically a skeleton, and the power lines and neighbors' rooftops that its lower limbs previously had concealed are now in plain sight...something Paul specifically had said would not happen. They had apparently completed the pruning in the tree, but Paul then decided to send his (admittedly) least experienced climber back up into the tree to remove more moss, thinking that would be to our liking. But instead of pulling the moss out by hand, as I assume Paul had intended, this climber went back up into the tree with a chain saw and a bad attitude, removing with a vengeance pretty much every limb within his reach that had any moss on it, AND dropping them all down onto my new landscape, including blocks of wood up to 4 inches in diameter. I happened to walk out as this was taking place, immediately yelled at the crew to tell the climber to cease his sawing, and dialed Paul's cell phone, only to get a voicemail greeting. (He had left my job site--for the second time that day--to attend to another job in the neighborhood.) A few minutes later Paul came racing back, having apparently seen what was taking place in the tree from the other job site. He jumped out of his truck and ran to the back yard, and there were raised, heated voices. In talking with me afterward, Paul seemed to genuinely feel badly about this and apologized several times. He also took a small amount off my bill. It remains to be seen however whether the tree will survive this incident, and meanwhile I have a new eyesore for the foreseeable future. If you use Sunbelt Tree, my advice is to be there start to finish, and have a clear understanding with Paul that he will do the same.

I got a prompt response to my initial phone call and received an on-site evaluation/quote with two days. They were booked up for approximately two weeks but then were able to do my small job earlier than expected when they finished another job in the area early. They did the entire job including clean up within an hour and half. Crew was professional and courteous.

We contacted Paul from a listing on Angie's List, noting many positive references. Paul visited with us and did an excellent job of describing what they would do and focused on their expertise and quality workmanship. He provided a quote that we thought was competitive and we felt comfortable enough with him to give him the job on the spot. He promised a crew of 7 people, and ended up bringing a crew of about 10 people who worked very hard almost all day. I have to admit that I was wondering if they could deliver on the promises that Paul made, and I am pleased that they absolutely did. Paul even followed up with a call a week later to verify that we were satisfied. We would certainly use them again.

The owner responded promptly to voice mail message and followed up (I had called another service that did not). I was given a written estimate within 48 hours of meeting on site.

Last week, a storm downed one of my neighbor's oak trees -- thankfully across my backyard rather than on our homes or pool enclosure. Four tree service providers provided estimates to remove the downed tree. Later in the bid process, I came across Sunbelt Tree's name based on their high ratings on BBB.org and Angie's List. I looked to Sunbelt for a fifth estimate to close-out process. I tried to schedule them for an on-site estimate; however, workload kept Paul, the co's owner, from coming out on the days he had planned. Feeling bad that he could not meet as planned & knowing this work needed to be done ASAP, Paul wanted to help me make the best choice for a provider. Though he knew he was putting himself in a position to lose potential business, Paul asked me who the other bidding companies were & offered an actual objective opinion on their service and approximate price ranges. [Note: I say "objective" because his input matched my findings via BBB, word-of-mouth, Angie's List, and past references.] I was impressed with how well he knew his competition and which niches they best served. Of the four companies, Paul spoke highly of one of them and confided that that other company's quality of work is "top-notched" and would do a comparable -- if not better -- job as Sunbelt Tree would for this job. To me, that speaks volumes on the character and customer-focus of this service provider and how he runs his business. We did go with the company he recommended and experienced great service at a fair price -- just like Paul assured. I would not hesitate to call Paul and Sunbelt Tree for any tree-related work and/or questions that I had.

I dealt with Tim, and I couldn't say enough about this company. They showed up like an army. They are a top-notch company; prompt, thoroughly cleaned-up, and were clean-cut individuals. I was very pleased, happy with the service, and would use them again. I also recommended them to my neighbors.

See above. All of Pauls workers are his employees, They were polite, professional and respectful of their surroundings.This was a welcome surprise. I will hire them again for further tree work in my yard.

They did a great job! It was kind of overwhelming to me at first to have so many people working so hard all at one time. Tim was a great coordinator of the efforts and as quick as it all came down, they soon put the branches into a wood grinder and it disappeared! My road is narrow and they coordinated the trucks coming in for the various functions so that there were not too many trucks along my street. The effort they went to in being considerate, as well as cleaning up after all the cutting, was outstanding. My trees look healthier and my neighbors have all commented that they look so nice. I will definitely use this service again.

Tim came out to review the job and quoted the amount we paid. The work was performed the next week. Tim came out with a crew of 6 and did all the work within 4 hours. They cleaned up well and trimmed additional plants that were not removed. Overall, very satisfied with the quality of their work.

When utilizing the stump grinding service, make sure you ask if they do remove all of the stump debris. They matched another estimate I received from Angie's List.

Paul gave me an estimate the same day that I called and removed the tree the following day. His team was professional and courteous. Paul checked on them while they worked. They worked quickly and efficiently and cleaned up after themselves.

After intitially contacting the company, our phone message was answered promptly. I explained the situation and Tim came out and looked over the tree and gave us an estimate ( he did not require us to be home). We called back and agreed on the price and and set up an appointment a few days later for the company to remove the tree when they were in the neighborhood on another call. They showed up promptly at the time we had agreed upon and removed the tree quickly. They cleaned up the debris to our satisfaction. The crew was safety conscious when bringing the tree dwon, blocking the street for a minimal amount of time.

Paul was extremely nice and great to work with. He made the process very easy and even did the work on a weekend to accommodate our schedule! We will definitely use him in the future.

We had two dead oak trees and one very large one that was in decline in our front yard -- all very close to our house. We called Sunbelt for an estimate. Tim returned the call within the hour and scheduled a time to look at the trees. He was prompt, courteous and incredibly knowledgeable about the types of trees, what needed to be done, etc. The quote was thorough and professionally presented. Tim and Paul worked with the City of Winter Park to obtain the needed permit, scheduled a time to do the job, showed up on time, with a full crew, and finished the job in several hours. Tim and Paul were on-site for the job, explained everything that was being done and provided suggestions on replacement trees. The crew was hard working and professional. They removed all debris and raked and cleaned our yard before leaving. The whole job -- estimate to final removal -- took one week. Amazingly, we still haven't received a return call from other tree companies that were contacted. Sunbelt's work was top-notch and the final price was very reasonable. The experience was seamless and I would not hesitate to use them again. I've already recommended them to several people.

These guys did a great job. They showed up when they said they would, and worked quickly. They removed all the waste, and, per my request, cut what they could of the trees and left it as firewood. Afterword, Paul came back and did a walkthrough with us to make sure everything had been done to our satisfaction. They were very professional, and pleasant to work with.

Paul coordinated every aspect wonderfully. It was great to simply know that everything would be taken care of from start to finish and all we had to do was write a check! Paul set up inspections, coordinated with the power company, pulled the necessary permits, and coordinated with several additional operators of large equipment (including a high-lift, a 40 (30?) ton crane to remove the trunk, and a very efficient stump grinder). His team did a great, quick, and safe job removing this tree which largely overhung our house. Our front yard is somewhat beat-up--a couple broken water pipes were quickly mended, and there are a few pock marks from felled limbs--but that's the worst of any wear and tear and all of this was expected.

Paul quickly returned my call to schedule an appointment. Tim personally consulted with me about each of the trees/plants which needed trimming and/or removal. A clear, written estimate was provided. The work was expertly handled while we were away from home. Inclement weather resulted in a short follow up trip, but they clearly communicated with me regarding the status of the work.

In March 2009, owner Paul Rodriguez's crew performed a wonderful trimming of a 25-year-old Laurel Oak tree that had previously sustained hurricane damage in 2004. On the evening of June 16, 2009, a severe thunderstorm hit, producing 55 mph winds, causing another large limb to be torn from the same tree. This most recent damage revealed hidden structural problems with the tree and upon sound advice, I decided to have the tree removed. Mr. Rodriguez's crew was on-site mid-day of June 17, 2009 and had the tree cut down, cleaned up with the stump ground, too by the time I returned home from work. Again, The Sunbelt Tree Service staff performed the work very quickly with very minimal impact to my yard. I had to look very closely to see any evidence that work of this scale had occurred just hours earlier. I am once again a very satisfied customer.

Paul Rodriguez provided the estimate. He also assessed the health of one of the trees and we agreed that it would be best to remove it since it had been damaged by storms over the past few years. The work was scheduled immediately since he had a crew scheduled to be in my area the next day. I was very impressed at the efficiency of the crew. The work was done very quickly and the cleanup was perfect. Except for the improved appearance of the trees, you would not know that anything had been done. Paul stayed with his crew while the work was done and walked the area with me to be sure it met my expectations.

The experience went smoothly. I rec'd a call telling me when they would arrive. They got right down to business and afterwards you would have never known they were there. Service was prompt and clean up was excellent.

Called Paul on Tuesday morning, he looked at my house Tuesday afternoon, received the quote Wednesday and the job was done by Thursday afternoon. Paul and his crew were very thorough, from explaining what needed to be done, to how and when it would be done, and in their execution of the job itself. They trimmed the nuisance branches without destroying the shade and beauty the trees provide. No mess was left behind. I would use them again and highly recommend them to anyone.

He was right on time for his appointment and spent about 10 minutes on each tree telling me about what was going to be done to each of the oak trees and the camphor. He gave me the estimate and we scheduled them to come out the follwing week. They roped and lowered the limbs so none fell on the roof or power lines. When they were done they cleaned up thoroughly blowing off the roof and even raking the whole front yard to make sure that nothing was left behind.

I called three companies for estimates. Sunbelt responded promptly and, while not the lowest estimate, was close to it. I chose the company because of Paul's obvious knowledge about what needed to be done and his willingness to answer all of my questions in detail. I asked for proof of insurance and it was quickly e-mailed to me. The crew showed up exactly when they said they would and once trimming was complete, carefully cleaned everything thoroughly. The next day I received a call from Paul, telling me that one of the crew reported that they had broken a sprinkler head (I had not even noticed this). He sent someone immediately out to fix it. Based on the service I received, I will use this company for all my tree service needs.

Paul came out to give me an estimate, which also included some advice on some of the landscaping and trees around, informing me of history and/or known life span of certain plants, etc. He assured me about some shrubs I thought were lost for good, but he said he'd trim them and they'd come back (and they are already) - so he didn't seem to be trying to do more than necessary. With a couple of delays (rain, schedules, etc.), they arrived right on time the day we settled on. Unfortunately I had tasks/errands I had to tend to, and so I couldn't stay around to see everything going on. But, I got back as they were finishing up, and did a walk around with them. Paul had been there, but couldn't stay, so I walked with the man he put in charge. They hadn't taken out that one shrub, and so they did that very quickly. He showed me all the trees they trimmed and cleaned up. They cleaned up most of their work, with a few grapefruits lying about, and a few branches here and there, but nothing major or terribly unexpected.

Excellent response to my last minute request. They are very professional and know what they are doing. Happy to have found them.
