First let me say that I got exactly what I paid for. The pool refinishing looks good. I would recommend this company with a few caveats. First, you are not getting a company called Magic Marcite. The company that did the my pool was Aaqua Pool Finishing, LLC. Secondly, If you are not planning to refinish your deck or pressure wash your screen enclosure, you had better ask them to cover everything with plastic sheeting. On my job they left a mess and my deck and screen enclosure were covered with white from the pressure blasting of the old finish and residue of the new. The mess left consisted of the old water return "eyes" , dirt dragged in from outside, old and new marcite, cigarette butts, etc.. Luckily, I had planned on refinishing my deck and pressure washing the screen enclosure anyway. One more thing, make sure you tell them not to leave any residue from clean up. On my job they threw the leftover marcite back in some bushes at the side of my property. I wouldn't have noticed, but I cut back the growth and there it was.

Description of Work: Bill and his crew were fantastic - I would not hesitate to continue to recommend this company. Professional, polite and friendly. We did a pool and deck renovation - we now have the gorgeous oasis we always wanted but didn't get from our original contractor ten years ago. Magic Marcite did a lot to finally make our pool right and made sure we were happy with all the little details!!

Dennis Clark from Magic Marcite gave a quote for refinishing the pool and applying new tile. * Two men arrived the day before to put a pump in the pool to drain it. * Gentleman arrived early in the morning to remove tile and place a tile board up for aligning the new tile that would be set. Note* The crew always arrived wearing Magic Marcite shirts and in Magic Marcite trucks. * Next day, after tile was set, grout was applied. * Another company came in and did the pavers around the top edge-bullnose- of the pool. M.M. doesn't install pavers. * M.M. came out when pavers were installed to finish the interior of pool. *Applied prep coat and pebble finish. *Came back to do acid washing. *Replaced jet covers with grey fittings to match pebble finish. (no extra charge) *Cleaned up and filled pool. Once pool was filled, Mr. Clark gave placed start up chemicals in pool which was also included in the price. Gave us a packet as to how to keep chemical levels, when to brush the pool and vacuum for the next 6 months. This was the biggest pain. I had to brush pool every day for thirty days. I had other pool companies tell me that if I had to do that it couldn't be a pebble finish. Not so. This is the best way for the pebble to cure to keep streaking at a minimum. I also had to go to pool store often to have pool water checked to keep it in balance. That was hard as it rained a lot over the summer and it is hot here in Florida. We did it though and aren't sorry for the extra time involved. We were trying to get a sand look in the pebble and didn't want a pool tile that everyone else had so we did go with Verona's Tondela Blue. We just love it! Yes we had to work with two different companies for the pool and the pavers, but it really wasn't that difficult as they both said they do this all the time. They worked around each others calendar nicely.
Description of Work: We had a pool that had not been redone in over twenty years. The gunnite had ulcers and the tile was falling off causing the pool to leak some. We contacted several companies from Angie's List to get estimates. I must say I was a little surprised at the "scare" techniques companies use. One "A" rated company said emphatically, "other companies don't have their own employees, just laborers, therefore the quality won't be as good as theirs." Another example was that if a company gave me a lower estimate, they must be doing "shotty work, as it cant' be done for that amount." Mind you, all of the companies we called had "A" ratings. I was appalled at a couple of the sale's people attitudes and outright lies. We stumbles upon Magic Marcite because of one of the samples someone left. They were using their product as Magic Marcite is a factory for this pebble finish which is in competition to Pebble Tec. They, M.M., produce a smaller pebble that was beautiful to look at and much softer to the feel. To get this same look and feel from the other three companies, the price went up by two thousand dollars. So we thought we would call M.M. and see if they also install. Bingo, we hit the jack pot. Dennis come out and give us samples to look at an estimate to refinish the pool. No fancy show room, no fancy sales person, just a real person like you and me doing his job and doing it well. He came in about a thousand dollars less than all other companies compared to the Pebble Tec's larger stone but installing the smaller pebble with a smoother finish which would have cost us thousands more. He left samples of the pebble finish and told us what ever tile we wanted he could get. We picked out our tile, pebble finish and had the job done. It's been several months since the job and we are very pleased with the work. Our pool is gorgeous!

Called and made an appointment with Dennis Clarke He showed up on time and answered all of my questions about installing and care for a new pool surface. Even left a Start-up booklet for us with detailed instructions. I was surprised when he handed me the quote it was much less than I anticipated. The pool surface turned out excellent, very impressed with the work , quality of pool surface. The crew cleaned up after the were finished. A supervisor showed up twice at job site to make sure everything was going well with job.
Description of Work: Installation of new pool interior surface.
