This company, unlike the previous Angie's List contractor I called, was very responsive to my call and were out the same day with an estimate. I immediately accepted the estimate and work was promised the following week. Workers did show up the following week but unfortunately rain interrupted that date's installation and the workers had to quit before they started the job. They promised to return the next day. After nobody showed up for a week, I called and was advised that crew was on vacation but now that they realized my job had been dropped, another crew would be out that week. Another crew did show up at the end of the week and did a very thorough job on the roof repairs. The crew chief, Rudy, was very easy to work with and explained what he had fixed and clearly wanted to be sure I was 100% satisfied, which I was. Unfortunately, he knew nothing about the gutter replacement that was part of the job and did not have the supplies to do that job. I called the company again and was informed that job had been subcontracted and they were not sure when that sub would show up. They also asked if I was sure I still wanted that job done because Rudy thought my gutter problem could be solved with flashing rather than a whole gutter job. I agreed to postpone the gutter job until the contractor could revisit the job and decide if the flashing alone would fix the problem. The next day the gutter subcontractor showed up ready to do the job. I decided to get the gutter job done in an effort to resolve the problem. Yesterday (two weeks after the gutter job) the company called me to ask if the gutter sub had ever shown up. I told them they had been here and did a good job as far as I could tell. They asked if the gutter leak problem had been fixed and I told them there had not been enough rain to tell but my hose test looked promising. The company apologized that they had to call me to find out what the status of the job was. Apparently having this job split between two crews plus a gutter subcontractor, and during vacation time there had led to confusion about who was doing what and what was being done. In any case, the job got done, everybody I spoke with was very helpful and professional and the price was OK. They obviously had a heck of time coordinating this pretty simple job for some reason but I went away feeling they were just human and were really trying to do their best for me during a period of staffing problems.
Description of Work: Replaced missing shingles blown off in storm. Checked entire roof for loose shingles and repaired those that were loose. Replaced gutter and downspouts in areas where previous roofer had not properly installed same.

There was a leak in my roof. They came out multiple times trying to find the leak and repair it. However, they were not successful. They wanted to charge me $1000.00 for a roof coating. In the long run I found out even that would not have helped. I found out by another company the leak was coming in from my lower roof that needed flashing. It seemed as if they changed hands and the last guy to came out didn't strike me the right way.

Very chummy and slick sales man, fun to talk with. But I never received an estimate. I called to explain that I had not received an estimate, and had already heard from the other five roofers. Still no estimate forthcoming. Called again and left a message. No call back, no estimate, no response.

Can't say enough about this company! My son had several leaks in the roof of the house he purchased just last year. We requested an assessment of the roof. Brian gave a fair assessment of it's condition and gave a competitive price. He also made a few recommendations to help the condition of the house, which did not involve using All American's services (i.e.buying attic stair insulation to cut down on heat/coolness loss). Because the leaks were active, he was able to schedule the job almost immediately. He contacted me by text to let me know exactly when his crew would be there and was extremely punctual. His crew worked part of Thursday and literally, all day Saturday (with a rain interruption) to finish the job. The clean up was extremely good and Brian even came back the following Monday to be sure all the nails and debris were cleaned up. He has subsequently dropped off the partial bundle of unused shingles and a full bundle in case a repair would be needed in the future. Brian was extremely easy to work with. He was very accessible and answered all my questions in an easy to understand way. He is extremely personable also. Every major job done on a house should be this easy!

We had noticed some shingles had fallen off our roof and into the back yard. Dave from All American came out and replaced them and checked out the health of the rest of the roof while they were up there. Very prompt and friendly, and when we need a new roof, we will definitely go with them.

This experience was a pleasure from beginning to end. All American Roofing responded quickly, set up a convenient time for Karl to come and see the problem with the old skylight that was leaking. I was impressed with his ability to listen to our concerns and to explain his thoughts on the solution. We purchased two skylights in order to avoid problems with the older one later on and so they would match. We added light filtering shades (they call them blinds) which we had always thought about getting but didn't see how they would be able to work remotely. The solar power strip in the Velux window was the answer and was also eligible for the Residential Energy Property credit on our tax return. Not only was the work done at the time Karl predicted the windows would be ready, it was done quickly and the clean up was wonderful. Everything was explained to us and Karl even reminded us that we can get an energy credit for them. Karl put the Velux product labels on the product brochure which he told us to keep in the provided folder for our records. We were impressed with the quality of the work done and the respect shown for our property.
Description of Work: Replaced two skylights with Velux skylights with laminated glass and solar powered light filtering shades. Also repitched gutter over the deck.

Brian was easy to wrok with. He took care of everything and delivered on what he said he would do. His crew was great in everyway. In a big job such as roof replacement, as a home owner you can only see so much but from carefule observation, I do not have any reason to doubt that AAR has done a great job. I could not be more satisfied.

After researching Angie's List and other sources I sent an email request for a proposal to All American Roofing. Response was very fast and one of their project managers came by the house to measure the roof and understand the full scope of the project. The project manager returned a few days later with several product brochures so we could select the shingle type and color as well as understand the other materials they proposed. A proposal for the work was sent a few days later. They also provided a very long list of houses in the area that they'd replaced with the same shingle we wanted (with a wide range of colors) so we could actually see their work and what the various colors looked like in actual installations. I approved the proposal and sent it to the project manager via email. So far the response we'd received was fabulous but it now took a different turn; over 2 weeks went by without a reply and I started to think I'd send the approved proposal back to the wrong email address. I send the project manager an email asking him to confirm he'd received it, no response. So I called their office and was given immediate response and an apology. I was told they were far behind in getting their jobs done (largely due to the heavy rain we'd received for over a month). A day or two after this phone call I got an email from the project manager telling me they'd be by to start the work on Monday of next week (4 days later). I contacted the project manager who told me the name of the foreman who would oversee the work and the expected time of their arrival. On Monday they showed up just as promised, and at the time given me. The crew immediately got on the roof and started to remove the shingles after draping tarps over the side of the house to protect it from falling debris. I'd asked them to replace warped sheathing and I had personally estimated they'd replace somewhere between 50 and 80 sheets. As the roofing was removed it was obvious that all of the sheathing needed to be replaced. The foreman asked me to join him on the roof so he could show me the problem. The project manager was called and he came over within 30 minutes. They estimated it would take 150 sheets to replace every existing sheet of plywood. The project manger got on the phone immediately and got a price for this larger quantity of sheathing. I didn't receive an altered written proposal and was told it would cost about $4000 to replace all of the sheathing. By the time everything was done they'd used 170 sheets so the estimated price was low. The work they did was amazing. What was expected to take 2 days took almost 2 weeks. The first week it rained all but one day, yet the crew showed up every morning and did whatever work they could. The following week it didn't rain but it was extremely hot, close to 100 degrees every day. I was amazed they were working in such heat. They would take a break in the hot part of the day and work later in the evening. My wife provided cold bottled water for them, although they did bring their own (ours was colder). The foreman was very good, kept me informed and kept his promises. The work they did is superb! Roof looks absolutely fabulous. The crew was courteous and attentive to our needs. They did not clean up everything every day but did make sure there were no nails left on the driveway, lawn, sidewalks. The little they'd left at the end of each day was not an issue to us. At the end of the project they cleaned up everything and left the place in great shape. The only thing that could have gone better was their response to my approved proposal. I understand they were way behind in their jobs, I didn't need the roof replaced asap, could have waited a little longer before they did the work, just would have liked a response to the proposal a little earlier. Regarding the change in scope, I should have gotten a written proposal. I believe they responded correctly but I don't know if I overpaid for the full sheathing replacement.
Description of Work: Replaced the entire roof including sheathing (170 sheets of 4' x 8'), underlayment, shingles. Also replaced gutters, three gable vents, and three bathroom exhaust vents.

Karl ( project manager ) and his crew were on time and were very polite and professional during the whole project. They made sure everything was covered properly prior to starting the roof. The clean up went well and there were very few nails found afterwards. They were short a bundle or so of shingles but returned to finish the job in a timely manner. the gutter installers came the day after the roof completion and were just as polite and professional as the roofers. Ther were done in about an hour and the work was very well done. They only thing I would suggest is that when scheduling work that is not to take too long is to shedule it in a set time frame. Other than that we are very satisfied with the work and price that was given.

These folks are spectacular - imagine my dismay when my beautiful brand new house starting showing signs of a leaky roof . . . builder was very responsive, but ultimately was not capable of correcting the problems. I then called several roofing contractors, and experienced delays with changed appointment dates, missed appointments, etc. I then went to Angie's List and found All American Roofing. My experience with this family-owned business was an A++++++ experience from the time I called until the job was done! John, the project manager for All American Roofing, came out to the house, and thoroughly inspected my roof and interiors. He took an inordinate amount of time to explain the various findings and the recommended action. The estimate was reasonable, and Mr. Denny even gave me a few tips to prevent common issues found with the type of windows and construction present in my home, and what to look for when it came time for other maintenance on my home. WOW! Communication throughout was top notch. When the crew was scheduled to come to perform the repairs, they arrived on time and were extremely efficient and made sure all traces of materials and supplies were gone from my yard once the job was done. The crew explained everything that was done, along with the rationale before leaving the job. It's been 2 months and several rainstorms since the repairs were done, and there have been absolutely no issues! I can go into this summer's hurricane season without any worries. I will hire All American Roofing again without question - their integrity and professionalism, along with their extensive experience and focus on customer service makes them top notch in my book! Thank you!
Description of Work: Repaired multiple leaks in roof of newly built Cape Code home. Leaks were found around all three dormers on front of house, as well as in the back of the house from poorly/incorrectly installed roofing, siding, exhaust pipe boots, wrapping, taping, etc. Builder had tried to correct problem on several visits prior to hiring the awesome folks from All American - however, builder did not have the experience, talent or skills provided by All American, and leaks continued to recur. All American repaired several areas of the roof, siding around the dormers, replaced incorrectly sized exhaust pipe boots and rendered my roof and dormers leak-free! They also replaced a large piece of flashing from the peak of the house that had come down in a recent storm.

Our previous contractor had permit issues with Middletown Township and was unable to finish our new roof. After removing the old shingles, the Middletown Township Code Enforcement Agent Bob Ellis told the contractor to get off the roof. For whatever reason, the roof was not secured. That evening there was a lot of rain, and most of our second floor and some of our first floor suffered drywall ceiling damage. Our contractor asked John Devenny (sp?) from All American Roofing to give him an estimate on completing the roof. About one week after John gave us an offer, we contacted John on May 17 to see if All American Roofing could finish the roof for us. John said they could finish the roof about the next Monday. He said he would send information to us later that day. My husband called John on Saturday, May 18,and asked if John could send someone out to put tarp on the roof, as rain was expected that weekend. John said he would check with some of his men to see if they could come out. It is now Monday afternoon, and we have never heard back from John or received any paperwork from him. We were lucky that two workers who were working on a neighbor's roof-- securing it from bat infestation--put up professional tarp on our roof, because we had heavy rain that evening. As a result of the first rain on our uncovered roof, we require all of the ceilings and insultation in our second floor to be replaced. It is a miracle that I did not suffer major injury when the ceiling fell on me during my sleep.

Our feeling is that our experience with All American was excellent! We called and received a very prompt response by the office. They assigned someone to come to look at the problem and provide an estimate. Dave was the person who came and we felt VERY COMFORTABLE with him as being extremely knowledgeable and very helpful in diagnosing the problem and describing what needed to be done. He helped us feel confident that we made the right choice in selecting All American to do the work! He went above and beyond what we expected and checked the entire roof. He indicated that the problem we had was easily fixable with a high degree of confidence that the fix would solve the problem as well as assuring us that the roof itself looked fine and required no other work that was obvious. He then sent a proposal that night and we responded with agreement to the repair order. He then came the following day and did, what appears to us to be, an excellent job. We were very impressed with Dave and, hopefully, we'll find out if the fix worked at our next rainfall.
Description of Work: We had a small leak in our roof and had repair work done by others which failed to effectively stop the leak. We decided to go with All American based on the very good reviews on Angies list.

Everyone at All American Roofing was excellent to work with, from the receptionist, to the manager Steve, to the entire roofing crew. I was particularly impressed by the roofing crew. They were courteous and would explain the process of what they were doing if I asked and they even came out on a Sunday to finish the job, so did the manager Steve. I couldn't be any more pleased with the workmanship, professionalism, and customer service that All American Roofing provided. I would highly recommend them to anyone. They were the least expensive and the most thorough.
Description of Work: Once I called All American for an estimate, Steve came out within a day or two to provide a thorough estimate. Out of 9 roofing estimates that I got, he was the only one who went into my attic and inspected the condition of my plank roof. Once he took his measurements, he walked around the house and told me what kind of ventilation I needed for the house and why. Everything that he said made sense and in order for GAF warranty coverage, you need to have proper ventilation (among other reasons). All American was the least expensive estimate that I received and they had the best reviews so I went with them. In all, the estimates I received ranged from $8,700 - $21,000. I spent a year saving and getting other estimates, but once I called Steve and told him that I would like to go with All American, he was able to get me a revised estimate and scheduled the roof the following week. Although the cost of shingles increased, A.A. was offering a $600 coupon that nearly eliminated the rise in shingle cost. The roofing crew was excellent and extremely thorough. The first day they had the old shingles and underlayment removed in less than 2 hours. They removed my attic fan and wind turbine fan over the garage because I was getting Smart Vent and ridge vent installed. Once they removed the fans, they replaced the holes with wood and also replaced a couple of pieces on my overhang over my porch that had deteriorated over time. They installed full ice and water shield, smart vents (no soffits on my home) along the whole backside of my home, to include a screened in porch and smart vent mid-roof along the front of the house, and ridge vents along the tops of every peak. Also, they put a cricket behind my chimney and rewrapped the chimney. We went with Mission Brown for our shingle color and it looks great. During the day I would randomly go outside to see how everything was going and the roofers were all very friendly and were working diligently. Although a rain delay pushed back the start day until Saturday, so they came back and finished the roof on Sunday, which is definitely an example of them going above and beyond.

All American came to the house the day we called, diagnosed our leak immediately and provided an estimate to repair two holes in the copper valleys at junctions of the roof. They needed a little warm weather to install the patches and came back to the house on the first day it was warm enough to proceed. The work was completed in short order and the leaks have been stopped. In addition to these two repairs, the roofers noticed that water was accumulating in soffit boxes off the front peak and they fashioned and installed (color-matched!) covers at no extra charge. Both of the guys were prompt, friendly, and professional. The charges were exactly as per the estimate. Very satisfied with the work done by All American Roofing.

They had a roll off container delivered and the roofing crew was right there with it. They put tarps over the front and rear of the garage and even made a wood tent to cover my japanese maple to protect it from falling debris. They srtipped off the exisiting shingles down to the sheathings. (I knew all the sheathing was good because they checked it from the inside of the garage first so there were no surprises when the shingles came off) They applied a breathable roof deck protector, installed a drip edge on all the roof edges and then replace the roof with new shingles They cleaned out the gutters and used a magnet to pick up stray nails. The job was completed in one day Their estimate was $500.00 higher than another one and much lower than a 3rd however the others estimates did not include these warranties and were using felt as the deck protector. . I have a 130 MPH wind warranty,30 year workmanship which also provides for no leaks (not counting natural disasters) plus the material warranty. The garage will fall down before something needs done to that roof again.

Dave's prompt communication, willingness to be available at my convenience and fair and honest approach to doing business makes him and his company an asset to the industry. Not to mention the quality workmanship and desire to get things right and too my satisfaction regardless of what takes makes doing business with All American a no brainer. I will absolutely refer Dave and All American to my family and friends and will definitely use them again if aI have a need.
Description of Work: I had a roof leak due to improperly installed step flashing around my chimney. Dave Schiedegg at All American Roofing came out initially and gave me an estimate for reapir and a thorough explanation for what he felt was the cause of my leak. This leak has involved both major interior and moderate exterior repair. Opening pulling down the interior ceiling it became clear that more than the leak near my chimney I had major roof ventilation issues to include a lack of roof venting and improperly installed insulation which led to moisture build up and mold. After a second inspection Dave was able to expand his estimate at a reasonable price and suggest legitimate solutions for not only fixing my leak but improving my ventilation and ensuring the same problem wouldn't occur again. The repair was conducted in a single day and Dave worked very hard to stay in close communication with me and coordinate his teams work with my schedule. Dave was courtesy, respectful and tries very hard to respect your property. He also did his best to clean up after the crew very well which I appreciate. Too many contractors forget the details and leave trash lying around or dirty finger and boot prints where they shouldn't be.

We appreciated the fact that they examined our roof and they said that it was worth repairing. In other words, they did not recommend replacement, which another company had. It will be seven or eight years before we have to actually replace the roof. They are an excellent company to work with. The only thing people might want to know about the company is that the people that talk to you about estimates and come out and look at the job and describe what they recommend and so on are English speaking Americans. The workers, even though it's called All American Roofing are all from the Ukraine. There were very professional. They stuck to their work. There was no sitting around. But, we couldn't talk to them. They are very hard workers. They really stuck to the job, got the job done and got it done well.
Description of Work: We used the services of All American Roofing Company. They did repair and resurfacing of our rubber roof. They needed to be surfaced with something white to reflect the heat.
