I also had them come out another time because I had a leak in one of my windows and they diagnosed the problem. I am satisfied with their service.

Process with the salesperson was smooth.  He provided a good overview of their product, listened to our needs, and made a recommendation.  He was responsive enough to competing offers in terms of price to win the bid.
Installation was extremely poor, however.  The installers tried to leave with more than a 1/4" gap between the bottom of one window and the house saying, "You're house has a design making more proper fit impossible."  UNTRUE.  He was only allowed to leave when the window was installed correctly-- and he did find a way to make installation work just fine.  Similarly, initial installation of 2 of the other windows had issues that needed to be corrected before we could pay.
We initially did only a cursory check of the attic insulation-- the 5' close to the attic entrance was well insulated.  6 months later, however, we found the full truth-- Advance had done a HORRIBLE installation of the insulation.  They had completely plugged the vents in the attic with insulation-- putting the foundation of our roof at risk of mildew and rot from insufficient venting.  
Two other major issues with their installation of the insulation:
1. More than 1/2 of the attic had NO insulation whatsoever!
2. The had done no check for large gaps in the attic, much less smaller ones.  If you have a big gap below insulation between the attic and your home, the insulation doesn't work.  (Think about having little pieces of insulation acting as the primary insulation to a doorway, rathr than a door)
The customer service manager was responsive, suggesting they would come to correct.  THe first time, they cancelled politely.  The second, they didn't show up.  The third time, they came (6 calls later.)
They began the re-installation wrong again, after seeing some of their egregious mistakes (but not understanding some of the others), and had to call a manager to discuss.  The manager began (again) with, 'It's impossible to...'  By slowing him down, explaining carefully, and how it would not take too much of his guy's time, we convinced the manager he could correct the insulation, and it would be appropriate to do so.  He did provide some nice advice on another project at the end, but...
I see signs the Advance organization makes efforts to be responsive to customers.  I see signs that Advance could be a good service provider.  To realize that potential they MUST improve their processes and quality control-- at least relative to our experience.  Overall, I'm just glad that Advance mistakes on a $1,000 insulation job didn't cause us to have to spend $100,000 redoing our ceramic tile roof.

We spoke to 2 companies about replacing our 12-year-old builder original windows and front door. One sales rep from another company told us we didn't need new windows, since they were "Anderson Windows." But, they were the cheapest, entry-level Anderson windows the builder could get, I think. The first salesman did want to sell us a very fancy entry door close to $10,000. However, we were more intersted in new windows that were more efficient and easier to maintain/clear (i.e., tilt-in), although we still did need a new door. After that weird experience of not trying to sell us what we were really looking for, we called Advance. The salesman was very polite and actually listened to what we wanted. After he took some measurements, he came back the next Saturday to show us the window samples to choose from and quotes based on the styles we picked. We did pick the most expensive windows, but we got what we liked. We did also need a new door,but we got a much simpler design that was a much better fit with the rest of the house.
It took about a month for the window order to be shipped from the factory. The communication with their scheduling department could have been a little better about when they would do the installation and what time in the morning we should expect them. The crew was about 15 minutes late the first day, but they did pretty much get right to work aftger that. Since it was starting to get cold, they did send double the manpower than normal to get all 30 windows and the front door done in 2 days. They were all professional and polite and experienced, from what I could tell. The windows look great, and the front door closes now without putting your shoulder into it. We can't really tell yet how much difference the high-efiiciency triple panes make compared to our old standard double panes, but they seem much quieter already.We also needed to replace out HVAC uit this past summer, so we are hoping to notice a nice difference.

We knew we needed a new roof, as we had had a leak for quite awhile.  We were also considering having insulation put in while the roof was being replaced.   Spencer Malcom, the sales person, came, inspected the roof, and discussed options with us.  He was very helpful & thorough while explaining the various  techniques & supplies.  We had a true sense of the pros & cons of the various choices.  He did not give us a high pressure sales job, which we appreciated.  He gave us time to make up our minds.  His estimate was spot-on--it cost exactly what he said it would.
  Timing of putting on the roof was odd, due to Hurricane Sandy's arrival.  They started one day later than originally planned----truly justified.  The team who came were very careful & thorough.  They took their time to ensure that everything was done well.  We've had two rain storms since, and not a single indicator of problems!!!  We would certainly recommend Advance to anyone who is interested.
 

Everyone from the coordinator to the general manager to the installers get a very high rating. They did a clean, efficient job. They were very professional, reasonable and the windows are very high quality.

they did a great and thorough job from start to finish and no BS or reasons to return. I had wind and water damage they replaced everything that needed to be done, gave us a terrific price, were courteous and professional and I recommended them to other people. I had 3 estimates done in this area and they were all 2-3000 above with excuses to extend the workload. They went beyond just doing the job. They Also put flooring in my attic for the above price.

They were great in all respects. The young man who came out was excellent. He was polite and really new his business. He was very good. The cost was more than I could handle.

All work was completed efficiently, with no delays.  The quality of work performed was tested by Hurricane Sandy  shortly after completion. There was no shingle damage, gutter leaks, or roof leaks as a result of the storm.  Great work all around.  I would recommend Advance as a roofer you can trust to do a solid job.

The only problem I had was getting someone to call me back or respond to my email. It took about 5 tries for someone to get back to me. This is why I give them a C for responsiveness. Nobody answered my email and when I left voice messages at the company number, I never heard back from them.
I finally called Joe on his cell phone and he did call me back and made sure to make an appointment and have someone come as soon as it was possible. 
I am happy with the results.

I do not want to talk too bad about this company because the service happened months ago. However ther are two things I remember one, the guy forgot about the appointment when I called he did come and I was home working around the house anyway so no big deal. Two, and of more importance is I have a two level roof. He went on the first level and assessed I only had one layer of shingles. The same day I was getting an attic fan installed. The installer informed me that I had two layers on the top much larger roof. Anyone that has done any research on roof repair/replacement knows that the nmber of current layers drastically changes the estimate cost. That was an issue but I will say other than that he was very informative. He did go up in the attic and point out some good things for me. You'll have to assess for yourself if these things are "just a bad day" or an indication of bigger concerns.

Everything was fine. They did have to mail the paperwork to me but the work itself was fine.

They were about 3 hours late, but the office confirmed that he was still coming for our appointment.  He didn't find any problems, and we haven't had any leaks.  We did ask for a quote about how much it would cost to have the roof coated but we never back.

He was good. He was punctual and came out when he said he would.

They were professorial and honest and said I not need to do the work. They suggested I get a refund.

I have nothing negative to say about the company. They delivered exactly what the deal said they would.

Company Never responded

I would not recommend them to anyone. I found local guys that are not on your list that are much more reputable and they have proven their work. Those are the ones that I would recommend. What I didn't like was that they made it sound as if they are just giving it away. That is the way they came across to me. They responded fairly quickly. But I would never use them.

The estimate was very expensive. They didn't give a discount from Angies List like they said they would.

They were the worst company I have dealt with. They took a down payment and were to return later to perform the work. I called several times but they could not find my order. They never completed the work or followed up with my phone calls. They had a lot of excuses. It took over three months and finally I got my money back.  I would never do business with them again.

Went with another vendor for a lower price.

The quote was about $1500 lower than another quote I received.  In the end, I did not need to get the roof done as the repair that was provided through this deal actually fixed the leak!

I had a very nice first meeting, but never heard from them after. I tried to reach out to them a few times with no response.
