I Hired the company for the job and they just took the money and never back to start the service

I received a call from an Angi representative that there was a company with a 5-star rating interested in the concrete driveway job I had posted. So I said it was ok to the Rep. for them to call so a few minutes later that did. I was impressed with the rate that they gave me and trusted that Angi recommended them. What they did ask for was a $2000 down payment and get started Friday. So I went to the bank that day and withdrew $4500 which was December 23,2024.he said he would send one of his guys and they did come and had a contract for the $2000.00 and the remaining balance. On the day of the work being done, I contacted the individual and he said he would be there at 10:45 am. Two hours went by texted a few times no response then I called both numbers and they were both disconnected. The scary part about this was that one of these scammers was in my HOME!!!!!.

I don't want to give them a bad review. I just want the contractor to communicate with me when they expect to do the work since I made the down payment and they have not shown up for 3 appointments. 12/18: - Zach made the home visit on Tues, Dec 18th and quoted me $800 to install and supply two new roof vents where needed. - Jacob Mataof sent the contract via an application called Joist - https://client.joistapp.com/estimates/3eab5922d29aabb699b7fdf8. I electronically signed it and sent the requested down payment of $400 via Venmo. - They told me they would be at my house on Wed, 12/19 at 8:30 or 9am to do the repairs. 12/19: - They called me at 11am to say they were waiting for the roof to dry out from the rain the night before and he would call me back in 20 minutes to confirm the time. - At 2pm, I texted him to give me an update. He called me later to say they would be out at 8:30 or 9am on Fri, Dec 20. 12/20: - They did not show up, as agreed. He texted me at 9:42 am that they would be here at 12:00. - They did not show up at 12:00 - I texted and called him multiple times and he has not responded.

I posted a service request on Angi on Sunday, December 14. The contractor arrived at my house the same day saying he was from Angie s list and that he was there to give me an estimate on my roof. He provided me with an estimate that was greater than the amount we discussed. And then he told me why the price had changed. I agreed to pay $2000 and he and his crew began work on Monday. I paid him in full on Monday before he left. On Monday a crew of four arrived to begin work on my roof and said they would return that evening to complete the job complete the job inside of the house There is a giant hole in my kitchen from the roof leak. I have tried several times to contact this contractor and he does not answer my calls. He did answer my call on Wednesday, December 17, and said that his crew would be back to complete the job on Thursday, December 119. However, no one showed up on the 19th. When I called him, he said that his crew was on the way to my house but they never showed up. He had stopped answering my phone calls. This contractor has been paid in full for service as described in the contract and I need assistance getting my roof fixed or refunded, please.

Did a excellent job explaining the job from start to finish my roof looks great I definitely recommend Jacob
