After 8 long and painful months of lying and delays from Robert Smith we finally settled but not without alot of hard feelings. We were told our refi could be done in a few months and that we wouldn't have any closing costs to pay out of pocket and were assured they would take care of everything. That was far from the case. The entire process was unprofessional from the beginning. 8 months later we finally closed and with a different loan than we were promised, a different interest rate, extra closing costs and a bad mark on our credit report. They just kept making excuses of why everything wasn?t going right. I had to fire them 7 months in and the owner said he would take care of finishing the refi and then one week later he put the original rep back on our case. We were very upset with both of them but we were so close we were stuck and apparently they knew that and took advantage of it. We were told that we would not have extra insurance but in fact we did and they kept that a secret until it was time to close and then i guess they figured we couldn?t do anything at that time. We were also EMAILED a one liner a few hours before closing that we needed to bring $1100 to the closing.. That?s right they "EMAILED" us only a few hours before to let us know. As far as I?m concerned that?s very poor work habits. After complaining to the President of the company Scott Carey, he gave me excuses of why we needed the money at closing but simply did not get that we thought it was unprofessional to tell us a few hours before the closing. They kept saying well see you at 4:30 for the closing if you have any problems. Neither one of them showed up! We closed all by ourselves. I would not recommend them to anyone and if you use them, be very careful because we were promised a lot but were lied to the entire time with excuses after excuses.
