A Parker Contracting

It was a two day job and we needed several sheets of plywood replaced as well. The crew was at our house by 8 AM the first day and worked into the late afternoon on Day Two. The roof looks great, the crew did a complete post repair cleanup and the price was eminently fair.

We were very impressed with the amount and quality of the work A. Parker and his crew performed on our home. (Even our neighbors commented on how hard Mr. Parker’s crew worked after the job was completed.) We received three estimates, and Mr. Parker’s was the most thorough and competitive. He was also receptive to our many questions as we tried to ensure we were comparing apples to apples. We were looking to have an exterior door replaced at the same time, and he was the only contractor willing to perform the work himself. (Because the new door would need new framing and paint, it was important to us to have this done at the same time.) Another decision point for us when considering which estimate we should go with was whether to have the paint brushed or sprayed. After reading many different recommendations on this topic, we decided to go with spray (A. Parker’s method). This allowed for two coats of paint where other estimates (brush-application) indicated there would be one. The difference between this and the previous job was immediately apparent — the application was even and reached crevices in our board & batten siding that were missed previously. The scope of the job grew before the job began due to the installation of a new deck and latticework. Mr. Parker and his crew were very accommodating, which we appreciated. They were also very careful with the new deck and we did not need to clean up any paint there or elsewhere. Even after the job was paid for, workers came back to do some additional finishing work that we did not anticipate, but which we appreciated. We wouldn’t hesitate to call Mr. Parker again for other work on our home — highly recommended.

Long story short..........."Bump Out" on front of house has been leaking for 20+ years. I have been climbing on roof and putting waterproof -silicone type sealer on brick every 3 years. Original structure was probably not flashed against gable end of house and rafter from the start. Freeze/thaw against brick caused problems. This was a major undertaking and not a trivial job. Alex came out and we discussed options. Alex is great! So easy to talk to and really understands the customer. I have been around builders and carpenters my whole life and am a DIYer. This job was bigger than I ever wanted to tackle by myself or with family and I needed a professional. He is sensitive to customer's budget and works to provide quality work in a timely and efficient manner. His staff is superb. Great bunch of guys! Other offers concerned me as to their open ended quotes and the way they wanted to take down the brick and put up stucco which would not have addressed the issue. Other quotes were way off budget and did not provide any guarantees! See attached pics. Looks like the house should have looks when we built it. All of my neighbors are amazed and love the finished product. If you need a reference, I have told Alex I will provide this verbally as well. Seriously, you will not be disappointed!

I called Alex and got his voicemail so I left a message. He responded but I was not available so he left a message. When I returned his call, I again got his voicemail. This time, he did not respond so I called a third time and got him live. We made arrangements for him to come over and inspect the roof but he never showed up and never contacted me to explain why he missed the appointment or to reschedule. I will be using another company for my roof repair/replacement.

Very good experience. I should mention our regular roofer had no ideas other than "we don't do stucco". In contrast, Alex quickly understood the specific issues and the big picture. He offered several intelligent suggestions and an overall plan of attack. I felt he was thinking about MY problem, not some generic one. Alex promised, and delivered, a detailed estimate within the hour. The approximated work date was two weeks out, and two weeks later it was done. It appears to be done well, and looks good.

(I am not sure what to call it, it is like bead board but with real wooden slats - much more elegant). Not only was the work excellent (I can't tell you how many compliments I get on the soffit, which Alex's crew also stained for me), but he was responsive and professional. The crew cleaned up after the job and aside from the completed work, there was no way to tell they had been here. Alex goes above and beyond. His pricing is fair. When it is time to replace the roof on our home, we will call A. Parker. I cannot say enough good things about this company.

They were finished in 2 days. They cleaned everything up. Alex took me through the work after he was done. It has been great ever since.

Great. There was already 2 layers of old shingles and much of the plywood needed replacement. Everyone who worked on the roof was professional, curteous and focused. It was a great experience. I highly recommend this company if you need a new roof.

A Parker Contracting just finished installing a new roof on my home. We were very happy in the process from start to finish. When we first contacted Al for an initial job price, I was impressed because not only did he arrive at our scheduled time, he was a bit early. This was refreshing, as several other contractors showed up late for their meetings, or in the case of one, not at all. Al did a great job walking through the scope of work, even coming back a second time to discuss everything once again with my wife. On the day we were scheduled to begin, Al's crew was at my home first thing in the morning and quickly unloaded the materials onto the roof. Later, I received an email from Al letting me know that the city inspector was going to be late, so he wanted to postpone the job until he got a definite time of the inspectors arrival. Having dealt with inspectors in the past, this was understandable and Al did a great job keeping me in the loop. We ended up having to postpone the job a couple days due to the weather and the inspector, but since everything was communicated to me immediately, I have no problems with this! Once the work began, Al's crew did a fantastic job. The roof looks fantastic and their cleanup was phenomenal. We are extremely pleased with how the roof has turned out and would not hesitate to recommend A Parker Contracting to our friends and family. Well done!

I thought I had an issue with my roof, so I called Alex. He was able to drop by the same day to check it out and said it was nothing to worry about. He seemed knowledgeable and reasonable.

A Parker gets my highest recommendation. I'd gotten 2 quotes from other installers. Was immediately impressed with Alex. Offered a clear explanation of the pluses and minuses of the options available. No sales pressure, no pricing gimmicks. I got a quality installed roof, just the options I wanted, for a very competitive price. Crew was professional. High quality work. Entire roof stripped down to wood. New underlayment, drip edge, ridge vent, and GAF Timberline HD shingles. Yard was clean when they left. Price quoted was the price I paid. My roof was becoming a neighborhood eyesore. Now it's eye-catching spectacular.

We met with Alex on two occasions to discuss details of what would be done and what we wanted, including discussion of our options. The team of five workers were prompt each morning and worked very diligently. The job was mostly done in two days; the third day was the two small extra jobs and final clean up. Alex and crew were very professional and respectful of the property, plantings, etc. Everything was covered and protected; and they were responsive to any question or request. We were pleased with the final product, and have received many compliments from neighbors in the short time since the job was done. We would highly recommend Alex and the company; and we will likely use them for other non-roof jobs int he future.

I thought A Parker did a great job. I had phone interviews with several roofing companies. I spoke to Alex personally and was impressed. He came out to the house and personally inspected our roof. Subsequently he submitted a competitive bid. There was some delay in getting the job started but that in part was due to difficulties matching the present shingles and weather. Once the men started the job it was completed in 2 days. The men were courteous, worked hard, and did a good job of clean up. The job looks good. Since completion we did have a major rain storm and so far no evidence of any further roof leaks. Of note, Alex called after the job was completed to inquire if we were satisfied not only with the work but also with his team.

I needed someone to complete this job right after a major snow storm. The missing vinyl left an area at the top peak of the side of my home where if it were to rain, it would have penetrated into the interior of my home and caused additional damage/problems. Al Parker, the owner, understood my concerns and worked with me to immediately resolve the problem. His team replaced the vinyl and tyvek the day after I called him. They matched the existing siding and did an excellent job. Bottom line ? did everything promised and did great work.

First, Mr. Parker had put a new roof on our house, but we held off on new gutters. He did a terrific job with the roof, so when we were ready for gutters, he was our guy. He completed the job within a very reasonable amount of time, was very accessible by phone and email, charged a reasonable rate, and cleaned up beautifully. We even brought him back for a third job after the gutters - to replace a flat roof that we had held off on as well. We hope we don't have to call him again, but if we need another major contracting job, he will be the first one we call.

They replaced them and all seemed good. But winter snow of 2014 caused a leak that showed a spot in the family room ceiling. I called several times no call back, called again just to find out what type of shingles he used because not on bill but still no reply. called builder and got shingle type and another roofer and he found a nail where they just replaced shingle and nailed on top of it and then put roofing caulk over and it leaked due to ice melt. Had new roofer come and he found a whole row of shingles done the same way.

Contractor was punctual, professional, did good work and completed work on time. Responsive to requests and very easy to work with. Would definitely use this contractor again.

Alexander, the owner, and his painting team were extremely professional, responsive and performed high quality work. Getting a quote and negotiating final details was easy, and communication was smooth. The team arrived on the scheduled date and was very professional and efficient. They power washed the house, siliconed holes and cracks, replaced some wood parts as an extra service (without an additional fee), and used a gas powered hydraulic pistol/two coats one application method. They came back to finish up some details. Everything looks great and they cleaned up as promised. The price was very competitive in light of the high quality of the work and compared to other quotes I had received. I will use them again and highly recommend them to others.

We had a nail pop that caused a small leak. AJ Parker came and did a full roof inspection and repaired that. He came out the day after we called him. While discussing with him, we discussed how long in the future we would need to replace roof as it is older. We also asked him for a quote to inspect and rechaulk gutters so we could wait until we do roof to do gutters...great quote and he did that job shortly afterwards. Would use again.

This is actually the second time A Parker Contracting has helped us repair part of our house (last year was siding on a different part of the house and the whole roof). The work is really well done, and our house looks brand new where the repairs were made. Before the work was done, Al went over all of it with me so that I knew what was going on. His pricing is great, and he doesn't try to add on things that you don't really need done. He is very honest about the work that needs to be done. The work is also done really quickly, and everyone who works for him are hard working and friendly. I would 100% recommend him to anyone who needs some work done on their home! Thanks again!!

Great experience. Very respectful, prompt, and hard working crew. We are thrilled with the new gutters and happy to not worry when it rains. The clean up was excellent, my only comment is that I have since found a few left over rather large screws around the perimeter of our home which is concerning with kids running around. Otherwise, we were extremely happy with the outcomes and the price beat everyone else. Thank you!

Mr. Parker replied promptly by email and phone call when I left a message through Angie's List. The initial estimate for all the work was less than what some companies had wanted for just the roof and he took the time to walk around the house to make sure everything we wanted was rolled into the estimate. He was very polite and came back each time we wanted to add something more without complaint. My wife was home the day his crew started work and she was very pleased to see the large tarps laid out to collect nails and debris. Everything was picked up each day and there was nothing left afterwards to show they had even been here. Even when the job was almost done and I found something else to add on, he willingly had his crew come back on another day to finish up the new work. The house looks great and we are really pleased with the work. Mr. Parker guaranteed his work and GAF sent us a warranty as well. I would definitely recommend him to my friends and neighbors if they need work done around the house.
