From the very start of the project, TDB was disorganized and did not write anything down or use checklists. The burden of communication was on us, constantly asking for updates, rather than being proactively provided. Free agents who did demolition stole cash off a counter, and TDB didn't accept responsibility. NO lead abatement measures were taken, despite the house having lead paint. Job was supposed to be in phases so we could remain in the house, but after demo started we were convinced that it was more efficient to demo all at once, so we vacated the house for 6 unexpected weeks. It took an ultimatum to get back into the house, and still we lived without ANY running water in the house for an additional 3 weeks (with two school aged children). There were constant delays, with crew just being gone for days on end. This was just their operating style. In terms of the quality of work done, everything is shoddy and already breaking. They used the least expensive materials, tho we paid top dollar for the work. Just a small sampling: toilet in powder room was installed off center; had to have it moved, which left wood floors with patch. Kitchen cabinets installed crocked. Upstairs bathroom toilet was never caulked, so twice had water pouring through floor/kitchen ceiling, with 3x drywall damage. Drywall around all kitchen and powder room molding cracked after less than 2 months. Framing around kitchen windows was done with scrap lumber and there are literally wholes in the exterior walls. Exterior hose bid was leaking into the basement. BIGGEST issues were electrical and plumbing work were so terrible we failed inspection 2x. Not a single outlet was GFCI protected, despite this being code since late 2000s. This unraveled the fact that TDB paid for a master electrician to pull a permit, but the work was done by someone else (not a master). This has been confirmed by the County inspectors. We are having to re-do electrical work after finding fire hazards in the work done by sub-contractor, including a juncture box which had singed. Juncture boxes in attic were left uncovered. Bathroom fan does not have required duct work and just exhausts into attic. Dryer duct work is way too long, and voids warranty. Stove hood was installed wa too high, with incorrect duct work (code violation), voiding the warranty. Likewise, the plumbing was not done by a master plumber, and the gas stove installed never had the required gas fitting test. Similarly, work was not done by master plumber (evidenced by the fact that 2x they said our Grohe shower fixture was broken, but it was just TDB not knowing how to install). They blew the central A/C control panel by turning power to house on/off without first turning of A/C unit; denied responsibility. We ultimately had to hire a third party house inspector to conduct a full report of work done, and the overwhelming finding was of shoddy, poor quality work, with multiple code violations. All this is documented, and available for review if required. After canceling the electrical and water permits, hiring new contractors to repair damages, we passed inspection in May 2016, a full year after starting the project. Be warned of Thompson Design Build!

Description of Work: Work was so bad, they agreed to redo the bathroom a second time at no additional cost, which ended up causing more issues and 3 extra months of people in and out of my house. Eventually, I just cut ties. I am still having things repaired in this full bathroom remodel that weren't done correctly. I have pics to prove it. Also had to have my locks changed, because they stopped responding to my requests to have my keys back!!!
