DELL COMPUTER SVC

I am currently disputing the charge with American Express. Dell has not responded to any of my calls or emaisl regarding the incmpetence of a technican returning the laptop without the repari.

I was very unhappy with their services.  I had a technician come home and look into the problem.  He worsened the problem and damaged the hardware, too.  I then had to mail them and it took 6 weeks, for me to get I back.  I will never use their services in future.

When the laptop is working, it is an unbelievable machine. However, in just under 1 and a half years, my laptop has broken with the same problem 3 times. The first time they had a technician come out and replace a few parts. A month or two later, the problem reoccurred and they had me send it in to them for repair. The second repair lasted less that 2 weeks. The third time they agreed to replace the machine (at least in theory -- I haven't received it yet). They agreed to replace it on May 21 saying it typically takes 10-14 business days. It is now July 4th and I still don't have a replacement machine. Needless to say, I am very disappointed in the amount of time it is taking to provide a replacement machine. In the past I have loved my Dell machines. They are priced fairly and I hadn't ever had a problem with them; but this time I seemed to have got a lemon, and can't believe how long it has taken to get a replacement system.

I'm now on my third Dell desktop. Their sales force is professional (and on the current purchase the salesperson had good suggestions for what bells and whistles to save one, and what to splurge on;it's worth asking). Their set-up instructions are very good. Although a DVD drive failed in the first week, they sent another one out and installed it in my home.

OVERALL MY EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN GREAT. THEY OFFER EXCELLENT SERVICE OVER THE PHONE, THE AMOUNT OF TIME SPENT WAITING FOR A REPRESENTATIVE IS LENGTHY, BUT ONCE YOU HAVE A REPRESENTATIVE ON LINE THEY REMAIN WITH YOU UNTIL COMPLETION.

THIS IS A VERY INTELLIGENT AND PROFESSIONAL COMPANY. I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH THE HARD WORK DONE ON THE COMPUTER. WHEN I CALLED THEY RESPONDED VERY QUICKLY.

HE DID A FINE JOB FIXING OUR MACHINE. HE SEEMED TO KNOW EXACTLY WHAT NEEDED DONE AND WAS QUICK TO GET IT RUNNING AGAIN. HE EXPLAINED EVERYTHING SO THAT WE COULD UNDERSTAND IT, IN PLAIN ENGLISH INSTEAD OF TECHNICAL TALK.
