The stucco work was done professionally & from what I can tell, excellently.  After stucco was completed, there were still problems with water damage to inside walls; the source of the leaks had to be continually uncovered, which prolonged completion of inside work.  I had to get a roofer to take care of one part of it. In another instance, an electrician did work on my AC unit which was dripping onto the window below & causing water damage.
Cook's workers were friendly, competent, and cleaned up well. For the inside work, they had to keep coming back b/c water was still getting in.  The final work was completed many months after it was initially begun b/c of how long it took to get the other problems resolved.  Mike, the lead worker, was excellent at both stucco work & inside plastering.

overall it went awesome. They were extremely quick to come and evaluate the work to be done, and then scheduling the actual work was very quick also.  as a matter of fact, the owner evaluated the work on a tuesday anf they came to do the work the very next day!  quality of work was superb, pricing was very reasonable.  I would recommend this company without reservation.

Unfortunately, we were unable to have the work performed. Our interactions went just fine with him. He was very nice and apologetic and let us know that unfortunately we were outside of the area he was able to service. He also let us know the process to get our money back since the work could not be performed.

I called Mr. Cook originally to ask more details about the Angie's list deal available and how much time what I needed done would take. I called after hours and left a message, not even an hour later, I got a call from Mr. Cook. He explained it would really help to see the work needed and the type of plaster we have at the house. He was available the following day and came out on time for an estimate. We made an appointment for 2 days later.
The tech, Mike I believe, came out on time, was respectful and looked through all the work required. He started with the holes and was done in almost no time. It looks great! Then he spent several hours fixing cracks in the ceiling. My husand watched and he gave him some tips in case my husband tried to fix plaster jobs in the future. He also cared enough to ask what we were going to do in the living room and what kind of paint we planned to use. He volunteered that flat paint is best to use on walls that have imperfections (our home was built in 1952, it's not perfect and we know that). He brought covers for the furniture and swept up after the job was done. There was still dust  in air but that's not something I think he could have done anything about. He did a great job, he saw cracks we didn't notice and fixed those too. It was a job well done and a great value. I would recommend them-quick, easy to work with, respectful, professional, good people overall!

Mr. Cook followed up immediately on my initial call, came out to give me an estimate that night, and was able to start just a couple days later. Our walls and ceiling had pieces of plaster falling off and cracks in various places. Cook made repairs to all the different places. The repairs looked very professional and solid.
We wanted to give the room a new, finished look, so a couple days later (giving the repairs time to dry) Mr. Cook's son came and took care of the painting. We supplied the paint. Antoine spent from morning til night painting every detail of the room, including the ceiling. This was no rush job. It looks wonderful! He was very courteous and professional. Both times the crew cleaned up really well. I would definitely recommend Cook & Sons.

The overall job was done great! My old house is new again. I called several people to do the job but each wanted to replace the plaster with drywall, which was not what my husband and I wanted. I called Mr. Cook and he came the next day and took pictures told me what he would do. He sent me a proposal that afternoon. He told me he could start in a couple of days and he did..on time! I was very impressed that they showed up everyday on time ready to work. He warned me it would be  a lot of dust and it was but now I have a beautiful home that everyone in my family loves. Once the plastering and painting was finished he sent a young lady to help clean up the dust. I would us him again in a heartbeat. It was costy but worth the money! Thanks guys for a great job!

I was very satisfied with their work. They did a great job. There was nothing I disliked. I liked their promptness of his response and the timeliness of the work that he did. I liked the price and quality of the work. He was just a pleasant person to have in my house because he was so polite and friendly. I thought that they could never go wrong because his was exceptionally good and hard to find someone who could still do the plaster work.

The job done was amazing. Mr. Cook was accommodating to my schedule and came by after 6pm to give me an estimate. Two days later he was there ready to paint. I selected and provided my own paint. He did the job in one day, two coats of paint for each wall. Clean lines, no splatter on the baseboards, and he even got behind the alarm system box. Patched the holes from the old curtain rod and everything looks fresh and new. The cleanup was great and his office staff couldn't have been nicer. Just an overall masterful job.

Mr. Cook is a good Master Plaster Mason who does a lot of work for the Capitol restorations.  The problem is that his Capitol work is at night, so days get a bit blurry for him.  A one week project took about one month, and since it is a highly messy job, it was very disruptive.    He gave us a very good deal for the work because it was a slow period, but then his first crew did not show up on time.  They tended to want to work in late afternoon into the late evenings, which is problematic in a residential neighborhood for many reasons.

They were great.  They were awesome.  I would give them an A.  I thought that the quality was very well done.  I thought that the estimate was reasonable.  They were able to do it really fast.  They came out the day I asked them to.  Then, 2 days later they were able to do the work, which was what we needed.  They were efficient and cleaned up everything really well, as well.  There were no problems.  I would recommend them to people.

Mr. Cook arrived promptly to perform the estimate on the work I called him about and also let me know that certain cracks I didn't believe could be repaired could, in fact, be fixed.

My correspondence with him via email regarding the estimate and scheduling the work was punctual and professional.

Cook & Sons staff arrived promptly, behaved professionally while working, completed the work on time and at a very high level of quality, and cleaned up when they were finished.

I would not hesitate to hire Cook and Sons again.

Cook and Sons were outstanding. It's easy to find drywall repairmen--they are a dime-a-dozen. Finding a company that does plaster repair and skimming is much more difficult. I took a chance on Cook and Sons based on the positive reviews on Angie's List. The work was top-notch and their price was reasonable for the skill and quality of the plastering. Antoine Cook was very pleasant to deal with and his workmen were prompt and cleaned up after the job. I would *highly* recommend them to anyone needing professional plasterwork or repair.

Amazing job!  First, Mr. Cooke called and came over to view the job on Friday afternoon.  After looking at all the work to be done he presented a very fair price and several suggestions on other little spots that needed to be corrected.  When he said he could have a crew there the next morning (NEW YEAR's EVE!) I said "yes".  He then emailed me a proposal/contract with pictures of the aread that needed work.  They were to arrive at 8:00 a.m. and they arrived at 8:00 a.m.
He and his crew covered my floors, covered all my furniture and began work.  Within  a couple of hours I could not believe how great the place looked.  I had put this job off for a few years because I didn't think I could find a good plaster guy - OR - afford one if I found one.  They worked all day on NYE - and came back on Monday morning - again right after 8:00 a.m.  They finished all the work - the walls are perfect and I am so excited about the difference.  The previous owner had covered part of the wall going up the stairs with CHEAP paneling.  It looked bad and was cracked....and I knew it was covering up damaged walls.  Now - I can paint the entire wall the same color and it will make the room look so much bigger and up to date.  He even arranged to bring over a carpenter to repair some broken baseboard and trim along the stairs.  That was an additional charge to the carpenter - but very minimal compared to what I know other carpenters charge.  At the end of two days - my rooms looked great  - and I was so happy that I had the work done.  I had looked at those messy.damaged walls for six years - but hadn't hired anyone....I AM SO HAPPY  now that the work is done!  Total difference.  Very fair price.  Prompt on time.  Best of all - Mr. Cooke and his crew were a pleasure to work with.  They took care of my home, were very courteous, cleaned up all the areas they worked in - AND cleaned where they mixed the plaster outside.  True professionals!  Wish I had more work for them to do!

The room was transformed in two days. A difficult space is now sealed, clean, and workable. The workers were considerate of the site that a tenant occupies, and their clean up was thorough. I would recommend them to anyone who needs plastering work.

I had 3 estimates, Cook and 2 others which were lower but the lower ones only wanted to replace the finishing plaster and paint. Knowing that the rock lath in the wall was damaged, I went with Cook. I'm glad I did because they are real plasterers, not painters who can do a bit of plastering. I feel they did the repairs the "proper" way and not just covered up damage.

I called Mr. Cook (the "son" in Cook & Sons). He came over the next day and gave an estimate on the spot. We talked about smoothing out the patterned ceiling and include painting (I'll call this the "Big Job") as well as only repairing the plaster. He followed up with calls but was patient as I had other estimates done. I decided to do just the plaster repair work.

We set a date, he showed up with the workman, Michael, on time. Michael was impressive. He was focused on his work and really knew his craft. He was polite, hard working and didn't seem to get irritated as I looked over his shoulder and asked questions. He tore out the old plaster creating a lot of dust, re-plastered and tried to match the swirl pattern in the ceiling. You can see where the pattern changes but I can't expect an exact match. He cleaned the place up pretty well.

I got the Angie's List coupon for $500 worth of work for $99. I was hesitant to get this as I figured that any estimates would be somewhat arbitrary. It was. The repair work alone was estimated to be $900. The Big Job was $2300. When asked whether the coupon was included, he said that it was good for "sq. footage work only" and a discount more than the value of the coupon had been applied to the Big Job. The coupon was not valid for repair (even though it says so). This, I felt was a little misleading, as this was not printed on the coupon but I figure that $99 was the fee for finding me a good plasterer. I will just follow my intuition on future coupon purchases.

Lastly, when asked about warranty, he said that they do not warrant repair work but assured me that this wouldn't be a problem.

All in all, I am very happy with the work and price, wary of buying another Angie's List coupon.

Cook & Sons was able to perform the work the day after Mr. Cook appeared for the estimate. It initially took a few days to hear back from the company since they were busy responding to Angie's List "Big Deal" inquiries. The crew was professional and courteous. They were meticulous in their work, both in the repair and in the clean up. They used drop cloths and plastic sheeting to catch debris and dust. When a room was completed, they swept and mopped the area. The work was completed in one day, and I would definitely recommend them for their plastering service.

Cook and Sons was the first contractor we contacted--Mr. Cook  was able to provide an estimate within 24 hours and schedule the work quickly. His crew was quick, clean and thorough.  In addition to the repairing the plaster we had the room repainted. There were some minor miscommunication with the office staff about when the painting would be completed once the plaster repair had set, but as soon as Mr. Cook was aware of the confusion he called me directly to resolve the issue. I would definitely hire Cook and Sons again.

One wall that had the large crack and the plaster filled in.... already had the crack (which is longer than 8 inches) re-appear 3 days after the work was completed. One wall that had added plaster - worker decided not to go up to the ceiling (2 inches) so my carpenter could add the ceiling molding later. I thought it made sense, so I didn't argue. However, my carpenter came 4 days later and told me that it would have been better to have the plaster go all the way up to the ceiling. I sent a nice email to the company just as a polite "fyi", so he would know this for future work that would be similar. The owner of the company was very polite, as were the two workers. The promptness was impeccable.
