We hired Alco Painting a second time, but this time it turned out to be disappointing. The first time, he finished the job with care and then made a point to come back the next day to inspect everything and do any remaining touch ups. This time he rushed to finish the job in two days, and as a result missed several crucial spots. When I realized this the next day, I was upset and called him to let him know. He came back, realized his mistake, and fixed them.
While that is fine and good, I had to move all the furniture out again and start all over. This made me lose an entire day. In the end, he fixed most of the problems but not all of them.
I am still upset about the way he handled the second job, no less after treating him as part of the family. It shows that one good job doesn't translate into the next one.

I don’t often write reviews, but we had such a terrific experience with Alco Home Improvement that I felt compelled to write. John, who owns the company, did a major job for us, painting a whole rental unit. His price was very competitive. In addition to doing an excellent job painting the walls, ceiling, and kitchen cabinets, he also did other work for us (which was included in the same price) very competently and with great attention to detail: including retrofitting a cabinet to install an over-the-range microwave, putting in some missing tile in the bathroom, and other odd tasks.
John and his crew arrived punctually every day, sometimes staying till 9:00 pm at night. John has a professional and pleasant demeanor, is very detail-oriented – and obviously takes great pride in his work which shows in the beautifully finished results. He even came to work, when he was not feeling well to oversee the work. We are so pleased with the results. We have shown his work to other people and everyone agrees that he did a terrific job. We very highly recommend John and his company, Alco, and we will be sure to use him again. It was a genuine pleasure to work with him from the very beginning to the end.
