This was our second time working with Valeria and Ed of Nova Design Build. They did a complete renovation of our Brooklyn coop apartment back in 2017, and we reached out to them again when we needed work done in our new house in Westchester in 2023. This time they tackled an insulation project in our garage and a beautiful master bathroom renovation. Their quotes are always competitive and reasonably accurate, and Ed has a knack for finding and solving the trouble-spots other contractors miss. Ed and Oscar were able to adapt to surprises in a complicated demo and an unexpected broken pipe, recycled antique wooden boards from demo into the new design, sourced local subcontractors when necessary, and worked seamlessly with our contacts as well. They’re also genuinely nice people who you won’t mind having in your house every day if you work from home, which is a nice bonus!

We hired Valeria and Ed to complete a full renovation of our historic brownstone in Manhattan. They provided us a detailed, incredibly accurate and competitive quote for completing the renovation, regarding both budget and timeline, and stayed entirely within the budget and timeline projected. They were also able to seamlessly pivot and adapt when we made several drastic scope and design alterations during construction. Even considering these changes, Valeria and Ed stayed within the projected timeline for completion of our project. Importantly, they did not juggle our renovation with other concurrent projects, but rather focused entirely on our renovation in order to get the job done well and within the projected timeline. The renovation that Ed and Valeria did on our brownstone has stood the test of time. We have been living in it for years, and have had zero issues or causes for concern. This includes with respect to new air conditioning units, a washer and dryer, a new powder room, a fully renovated kitchen and its appliances, and other major plumbing and electrical work, in addition to aesthetic details like painting, plaster repair and more. When we have needed to follow up with Valeria and Ed, they have always been responsive and have stood by their work. Ed was a masterful carpenter and very thoughtful in working around the historic details of our property. He was also very respectful about protecting and not damaging the floors and other aspects of the home during construction. He and Valeria are kind and thoughtful people, and incredibly responsive to emails, calls and inquires. They provided us with weekly updates of the renovation that included pictures and details of the work being completed. They also connected us with their contacts and suppliers for hardware and materials in the industry, and generously extended us some of their benefits as contractors when working directly with suppliers. Overall, we fully recommend using Ed and Valeria for your home improvement needs, and we will be using them again for future projects.

Valeria and team were able to walk through our ideas and help us renovate our apartment. They were able to complete the job within the budget and also provided additional help after the job was complete as the apartment settled in. We would definitely recommend them to anyone.

The work was impeccable - very precise and professional. From the very beginning, Valeria and Ed were very helpful in helping us narrow our focus and come to the right design - we are very conservative / "old school" in our tastes, and they patiently worked with us to arrive at a design that was old school, yet fit in a contemporary setting. They advised us as to the pros and cons of each material and each fixture brand and model and it all came together quite nicely. They also were superb at managing the entire process, including workers, plumbers, and vendors. Our final design included some small tile work, and they were able to handle that very well. Everyone involved was very professional, and it was clear that Ed was fully in charge of every detail, and present for every step of the process. Valeria was very professional about billing and scheduling, and final "punch list" items - with everything handled very timely. There were, in addition to the bathrooms, other related fixer-up tasks, and improvements throughout the apartment - but the main thing was the bathrooms. And although they are new, and look new, they still fit with the apartment as a whole. I can't say enough about how positive the experience was. And think about it - we had one working bathroom for four people, but they minimized the impact to us and got a great job done in a short time. The experience was great - I would highly recommend Ed and Valeria to anyone - consumer or upscale commercial.
