I got to know and trust the owner of the Westmount Group, Jeff Carter, while volunteering for Habitat for Humanity where he built many homes for those less fortunate.  His extensive building experience and ability to produce is beyond question, but especially when fine detail is called for.  He is very resourceful, straightforward and honest.  His custom furniture and cabinetry are always our favorite pieces to look at.  Truly, as we compare our expensive store-bought furniture to his work (whether cabinet or furniture), we always prefer his work.  His finishes have that quality where they appeal both to the classic collector as well as those looking for fine hand finishing.  He is the consummate professional and is not cheap, however, he is not as highly priced as his work reflects.  He is a very good value, and when I contract for custom furniture, that is what I look for as I care how my hard-earned money is spent.  I’ve been taking advantage of his services for about 10 years now and find that he is one of those rare ones that you keep going back to because of his integrity, value-pricing, quality of work, and ease of doing business with.  I also like that he works within your budget.  He's built pieces for me for a couple thousand and others much higher.  I saw a very high end piece he was building for a client and when I was told the price (less than $20k) I was surprised at how low it was for the exotic quality he was delivering – the client gave Jeff the amount he was willing to spend and Jeff delivered something that I thought would have sold for over $40k from anyone else. Don’t let the big numbers fool you, he works well at any price point provided your ultimate desire is quality work at the end.
