We purchased a $2,000 leather rocker recliner from Connecticut Home Interiors in September of 2015. We quickly realized that neither my husband nor I could close the recliner while sitting down - we had to stand up and close the mechanism with our foot. After several phone calls someone came out and treated it with WD 40 assuring us it would be fine. It was not. After contacting the manufacturer (who told us the store should have called them) they were sent a replacement spring. The chair was removed and to be returned 2 days later (according to the repair person) - 4 days went by without the chair being returned and it was only after difficulty we got it back - still not working I might add. On December 4th the manufacturer told us that the store would be picking up the chair - after numerous phone calls and e-mails (with the store claiming that they had called, but my phone records show otherwise) they are supposedly going to pick the chair up, ship it back to North Carolina, have it worked on there, ship it back to CT and redeliver to my home. I have never been through such a nonsensical farce over an item purchased anywhere in my life. The so called customer service person has argued with me on multiple occasions, first about what was wrong with the chair and what the manufacturer may or may not do about it, secondly about getting the chair back after it had been promised in 2 days and was not delivered in that time frame, and lastly about insisting she had left me a message about picking the chair up which I know for a fact based on my printed phone records did not happen.

Simply stunned at the way they have handled my complaint about the new sofa they delivered that had a tear in the fabric on the arm. They immediately acknowledged the tear was from shipping and not my fault. However, they insist they have the right to repair the furniture, not replace it. I'm sorry, but when a customer pays $1600 for a new sofa and it arrives in a damaged condition, it should be REPLACED, not repaired. In addition, I was given no estimate on when the repair would be completed, nor did I get any apology for the inconvenience. I complained by email to the Avon store manager and he never responded. I filed a dispute through my credit card company to get their attention. Still no response from the company. I finally had to go to the store one night and practically beg the sales person to have the manager call me. This is supposed to be the best furniture store in the area and I shopped there specifically to ensure my "investment" in an expensive piece of furniture would be well-protected, but that's not what I got. All in all, just a horrible experience. Will never shop there again. July 15, 2011 Update The CT Home Interiors June 13, 2011 response to my initial post does not in any way accurately reflect what has happened to date. CT Home Interiors states: "In the case of this sofa, we have removed an entire arm panel where the defect is (as would the factory) and are replacing the arm panel with new fabric." False. For one thing, as of the date of that response from CT Home Interiors, no one had returned to my home since the day the sofa was initially delivered back in May, 2011. In fact, no one was back to my home until July 9, 2011, nearly one month after CT Home Interiors claims in their response that they had already "removed an entire arm panel where the defect is." And when their upholsterer finally did come on July 9, he certainly did, at that time, remove the arm panel, but he did not "replace the arm panel with new fabric." So that statement is also false. He did what I was afraid he would do -- he reused the original fabric that was on the arm, pulling it really tight to conceal the portion that had the tear. How well the fabric will hold up now that it has been stretched and re-tacked tighter than the way it came from the manufacturer is not clear to me, but since CT Home Interiors is not in the habit of keeping me in the loop on anything I guess I will never know. CT Home Interiors can try all they want to suggest that I am simply a difficult customer who is impossible to please. But I think the fact that their post contains misstatements of fact demonstrates that the difficulties lie with them, not their customer.

Our company takes great pride in our customer service and we are well known for prompt resolutions to any and all issues. Clearly it is difficult to please 100% of the time, but we are close to that number always. Whether you purchase a new car, a new washing machine, or a new sofa, if there is a defect that can be replaced (not repaired)..it is. In the case of this sofa, we have removed an entire arm panel where the defect is (as would the factory) and are replacing the arm panel with new fabric. Doing this locally with a local upholsterer saves the customer a whole lot of time over shipping the sofa back to the factory and waiting for its return. Whenever possible this is the route we take and has proved to be most desired by the customer and very successful. When a purchase is not just right, the frustration is understood and why we make a great effort and respected one to please the customer and resolve the issue as quickly as possible which is what we are doing in this case as well. This has always been very successful for us and we are thanked all the time for our attentiveness.

Excellent furniture lines at excellent prices. Delivery estimates were accurate and adhered to. Delivery personnel handled furniture with care and removed furniture carefully. Sales personnel listened and were friendly and had excellent advice.
