"IT IS UNFORTUNATE THAT HE WAS GIVEN BAD ADVICE BY HIS SIDING AND INSULATION CONTRACTORS. WHAT HE HAS FAILED TO MENTION WAS THE REPORT HE RECEIVED ADVISED TO HAVE THE WALLS CHECKED FOR INSULATION FEASIBILITY BY THE INSULATION CONTRACTOR. BY HIS OWN ADMISSION NO INVASIVE INSPECTION WAS DONE PRIOR TO ANY WORK BEING PERFORMED. THE CONTRACTORS RELIED SOLELY ON THE REPORT PAGE REGARDING WALL INSULATION, NEVER THEMSELVES INSPECTING THE WALLS. IT IS ALSO RIDICULOUS TO BELIEVE THAT AN ALUMINUM SIDED HOUSE MUST BE RESIDE COMPLETELY IN ORDER TO INSULATE THE WALLS. THE EXTRA EXPENSE OF RESIDING MAKES THE JOB OF INSULATING COST PROHIBITIVE. IT IS TO THE INSULATION COMPANIESā BENEFIT TO BE ABLE TO REMOVE ONLY THE NECESSARY SIDING STRIPS TO DO THE JOB. REMOVING ALL THE SIDING FROM A HOME WHETHER IT BE ALUMINUM, WOOD OR ANOTHER MATERIAL IS NOT NECESSARY IN ORDER TO INSULATE THE HOME. YES IT IS DIFFICULT, NOT IMPOSSIBLE, TO REMOVE ALUMINUM SIDING FROM A HOME. THE FACT IS ONE STRIP ALONG THE LOWER SECTION OF THE HOME AND ANOTHER FROM THE UPPER SECTION IS ALL THAT NEED BE REMOVED. THIS IS A MINIMAL AMOUNT AND DONE BY INSULATING COMPANIES ON REGULAR BASIS. THE ENERGY AUDIT REPORT WAS GENERATED WITH THE ASSUMPTION OF NO WALL INSULATION IN ORDER FORHIM TO HAVE A BEST CASE SCENARIO FOR INSULATING HIS WALLS. IT WAS NOT ABLE TO BE DETERMINED ON THE DAY OF THE INSPECTION IF HIS WALLS WERE INSULATED DUE INACCESSIBILITY OF THE WALL CAVITIES. HE WAS FURNISHED WITH A TECHNICAL DOCUMENT FROM THE CELLULOSE INSULATION MANUFACTURES ASSOCIATION ON INSTALLATION PROCEDURES FOR INSTALLING CELLULOSE INSULATION IN EXTERIOR WALLS. THE DOCUMENT CLEARLY STATES PROCEDURES FOR PRE INSPECTION AND SIDING REMOVAL WHICH FROM HIS ACCOUNT HIS CONTRACTORS DID NOT FOLLOW. HIS EXPERIENCE IS UNFORTUNATE, BUT THE FAULT CLEARLY RESTS WITH THE CONTRACTORS HE HAS CHOSEN TO HIRE FOR HIS SIDING AND INSULATING WORK. ONCE AGAIN BY HIS OWN ADMISSION, HE RELATED THAT THE CONTRACTORS WERE VERY INTERESTED IN LAYING THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE MISTAKE ON MY COMPANY. IT WOULD SEEM THEY WERE LOOKING FOR A SCAPEGOAT AND UNDERSTOOD THE GRAVITY OF THEIR ERROR. I WISH HIM WELL AND HAVE REFUNDED HIS FEE AS REQUESTED. I HOPE THAT SOME DAY HE WILL REALIZE WHO IS ACTUALLY AT FAULT IN THIS MATTER."
