Green Mechanicals Heating and Cooling LLC

Green Mechanicals installed a new condenser and air handler back in 2017. It worked perfectly until 2025, when water built up in the pan under the air handler on a Sunday and leaked to the floor below. I must mention that, other than 2018, I had never had any maintenance performed. I was able to bail water from the pan and the unit never stopped working. I contacted Upil and he came within a couple of days. He cleaned the indoor and outdoor coils of debris which had accumulated over the years and flushed the drain. Unfortunately the water accumulation persisted, He came back out and this time flushed the drain pipe with a high pressure nitrogen blast. That did the trick. He didn't charge me for the second visit. I'm happy with both the quality of the product and the responsive service from Green Mechanicals and recommend them.

Upul and his team did an excellent job at installing a supplemental air conditioner in our bedroom. It is quiet and enables us to sleep comfortably without having to cool our whole house. We highly recommend them!

Upul and the gentleman he had working with him were excellent. They were professional. They came with masks. They were polite, did the work promptly and were just great. Upul had to go chase around for the part and managed to get the job done by end of day. I would recommend him very highly. I would never ask anyone else to do a job.

Green Mechanicals owner, Upul, made many false promises and was dishonest and didn’t provide the service he charged for. Upul also insisted on getting paid the full amount in cash claiming that this way I don’t pay taxes. In summary, Upul charged me $1,125 for services and diagnostics where some of those services and diagnostics were not done at all. Upul wrote in the communication that he will come do “free” combustion test and propane flow test. I made it clear to Upul that I only want to be reimbursed for the service and diagnostics that he and his company didn’t do. I have 3 oil-fired furnaces, one oil-fired water heater, and one propane furnace. For the 4 oil-fired mechanicals, he didn’t follow the manufacturer or card suggestions for the proper nozzle to be used. His technician just did vacuum, replace filter, and replace nozzles for those oil-fired mechanicals. For one of the oil-fired furnaces, I informed him on the phone that it is not working but he didn’t tell me in advance that he will charge additional $140 to diagnose it after servicing it. It took Upul less than one minute to know that the control is bad and then he told me that it will cost me $140 for such diagnosis. For the propane furnace, all what his technician did was vacuum even though Upul charged me for full service. When I asked Upul (via chat) what exactly was included in the propane furnace service besides vacuuming, he wrote that they also replaced the nozzle and filter. There is no nozzle in propane furnace and the filter was not replaced at all. Again, without letting me know in advance, Upul charged me $125 for diagnosing why the propane furnace was not working. But, he didn’t do any diagnosis. For example, the Power LED was off on the control board, but he didn’t test the transformer to see if it was bad. He spent two minutes with his multimeter then told me that he cannot do diagnosis without power and decided to leave. His claim of no power is a big lie because he was able to simultaneously run 2 oil-fired furnaces without a power problem. Also, to test if the transformer is bad, you are supposed to turn off power and test resistance. Upul and his technician didn’t do this or any other test to diagnose the problem. Upul was just interested in leaving as it was just after 5pm. For the propane furnace, the root problem was that the transformer was bad (reading 0L resistance on primary). This diagnosis requires that you turn off power and use multimeter to test resistance and is clearly stated on the door of the furnace as one of the first steps in diagnosis. I had the transformer replaced by a different technician and the furnace worked smoothly. Finally, Upul agreed to reimburse me for some of the work not performed by his company. I could have taken him to small claims court but it wasn’t worth my time even though I could have got larger reimbursement for other work not performed properly. I will never use Green mechanicals again and will never recommend them to anyone. What a waste of time.

Working with Green Mechanicals was a pleasure. From my first contact with Upul he was friendly, responsive, and flexible to our needs. He visited our house promptly, provided a thorough quote, and answered all my questions. Once we decide to move forward, installation was scheduled quickly, and his technician Jacob did a fantastic job with everything; replacing the gas pipes, installing the components, and venting the new high-efficiency system. They obviously care about doing things the right way! We couldn't be happier with the results.

Upul of Green Mechanicals had a new compressor delivered and installed the following evening, finishing up the job in the dark. One cannot expect better service than that, especially considering we were a new customer.

Great job. Green Mechanicals came up with an intelligent plan to address the challenges of installing modern air-conditioning in a house built at the turn of the 20th century. The worked quickly and efficiently, responded to problems encountered by coming up with ingenious solutions, and they did it for a great price.

Upul diagnosed the problems in both our zoned systems quickly and fixed them. Although the systems are very old, these repairs will help us make it through another summer before we have to replace everything. Very pleased.

Fantastic both times! Of course you never have problems with your heating systems when it is convenient so promptness of response is absolutely crucial. On both occaisions Upul responded an a very timely fashion and kept me in the loop about when he would arrive--no rediculous three to four (or more!) hour window where you had to waste half of your day. Once he and his colleague arrived they were terrific diagnosing and addressing the situations promptly and professionally and their pricing was fair. I will certainly use them in the future and would recommend them without hesitation!!

Amazing job!! Upul and his partner did a fantastic job! Smoothly. The installation was done while we were at work . Cleanup was excellent. Upul was very responsive to all emails and texts. It was a pleasure to do business with him.

Response time was same day. Initial call involved clearing the drainage pipe, however the problem persisted, The team returned the next morning (Saturday!) and installed a second drainage pipe, at no additional charge (since the first visit didn't resolve the issue). Upul explained the work that would need to happen before the next hot period (late spring/summer) and outlined the options. Months later, I am following up and he remembered the exact case and provided the exact same options (at the same price!).

Upul and team were amazing! I cant even begin to describe how great it was to work with someone who was professional, punctual and did a fantastic job in a short amount of time. He is a stand up guy in an industry where a lot of people dont have integrity. I would recommend him to anyone and will continue to use him for all my repair needs.

Upul is incredibly responsive in calling me back two minutes after I left a message, he knows what he is doing and you can trust him to provide you with the right equipment and the service to get the job done without gouging you on price. You won't be disappointed.

`Upul answered my phone call himself, and was able to work me in within 2 hours (with a phone call to keep me posted on his ETA!). After one hour of work, he/his staff cleared the unit's pvc pipes (and, admonished me for my dirty air filter!) and also performed maintenance on the compressor (replacing the aged capacitor, removing the mouse nest! & cleaning chemicals left by last year's suboptimal chemical flush). Upul patiently allowed me to observe the work (because I like to learn!) Many find my questions and attempts to understand an annoyance, but Upul seemed happy to teach me! The charge was extremely reasonable (with a cash discount). The unit worked beautifully for the hot afternoon, but then failed again - Upul had mentioned this was possible, so made a return visit for no charge (almost unheard of!), and his polite! workers installed another pvc pipe to help prevent overflow from the secondary pan into my attic. We are hoping to keep the unit running through the summer until the fall, when we hope to replace the internal drain pan. I am highly pleased with the service, responsiveness, and Upul's listening to my preferred approach.

The provider did a thorough check up on our large geothermal system which consists of 8 zones. With lots of knowledge and experience in geothermal systems, he explained patiently how components in the system work together. As soon as he was told the broken unit was covered under warranty, he worked independently with the unit carrier to have the repair work covered at no cost to us. Upul was professional and pleasant. We will definitely use him again.
