We hired CTC Creations to renovate our kitchen after reading multiple positive reviews on Angi. While Dustin Wade, the contractor, communicated promptly and seemed responsive to our needs initially, unfortunately right after the contract was signed and deposits paid, his pre-project work and behavior became very problematic: Not only did he take advantage of us financially related to a pre-project electrical job that his sub-contractor did for us (charging us over $400 an hour a simple outlet swap out), but he demonstrated a lack of knowledge on basic construction elements such as how to install a replacement window and LVP flooring, and most disconcerting, he is now refusing to return ANY of $4,000 deposit we have given him, telling us that we will need to hire him in order to get our deposit back. When we tried to resolve the issues, he refused to be reasonable and instead assessed multiple cancellation fees as well as a restocking fee for supplies he had not purchased. We are very unhappy with how we have been treated, and are disappointed with how he and his partner have refused to acknowledge any of these issues and are now inappropriately refusing to return the unused deposit funds. Return of our $4,000 deposit, less a reasonable fee related to the pre-project work that the contractorâ s electrician did at the house (1.5 hours of work).
