Description of Work: I did a complete remodel of my first floor. I have hardwood flooring that was in dire need of attention. Dave came and measured the three rooms and two closets to be sanded and sealed. Since the house was built in 1925 and the floors had very dark stain on them I was not sure what they would look like when finished. Dave told me that the wood was Douglas Fir, a light wood, and assured me that they would be beautiful. He gave me an estimate of $1,400.00 and told me that when I was ready to give him a call 2 weeks in advance. I contacted Dave a week later and asked him how much he would charge to sand the sun porch as well. He gave me a price of $300.00. When I was ready I contacted Dave and scheduled the work. He arrived on time ready to go. All the inside floors were sanded the first day. I could not believe the difference. It was like night and day. He came back on day two and sanded the porch and applied the sealer to the inside floors. He returned the third time to apply the second coat of sealer and to put an external sealer on the porch. I was amazed at how beautiful everything looked. I have a spiral stairway leading to the second floor that was painted with a dark color. I asked Dave what it would cost to sand the stairs as they were Douglas Fir as well. He told me he would sand the steps, bull noses and seal them for $300.00. He came on 9/22/11 and sanded them. They are very wide Douglas Fir boards and when they were finished I couldn't believe that this treasure was in my house hiding under paint! When you look at the stairway from the top landing and look down at the spiral stairs it's like looking at a piece of art! The natural grain and character of the wood is just gorgeous!!
