Top Notch Chimney Cleaning

Great job. Chimney was leaking and it's been dry since.

Mike and Jacob came out first thing this morning to service our chimney. The work was impeccable, as always. Both gentlemen were extremely courteous and professional. We've used Top Notch for the last 2 years and can foresee using them for all our chimney needs for years to come! Highly recommend!

Kevin from Top Notch gave me better itemized quote. Very professional - he answered all my questions and explained some items in other company's (not from Angie's list) quote were not needed and why. In addition, Top Notch were the only ones who came wearing masks which shows they care about customers in this coronavirus situation. Job was done within few days after I accepted the quote. I am absolutely satisfied. The lady from the office called me a day before the appointment to remind me of the appointment, also 30mins before the contractors' arrival. I really appreciated her professionalism and courtesy. The contractors (Kevin and Scott) were 100 % on time, very respectful and friendly. Especially what's going on in the world today (COVID-19...), it was GREAT and refreshing to see the hardworking professional with the positive attitude like them! My house is 3 story high with complex roof Victorian home from the late 1800s, but these professional folks handled it like absolutely pros. It was very soothing to witness their smooth professional work. The price was actually cheaper than I expected (especially, the height and complex roof structures added difficulties to the job). I am absolutely satisfied and I know whom I will call for any other chimney related work. Thank you Top Notch lady, Kevin and Scott! For anyone who is looking for chimney work, I highly highly recommend them!

Guys were nice but after the quote of $650 I looked up the cap on Amazon and found it for half the price that was quoted..told the guy about it and he seemed shocked..Which tells me he wasn't..Oh well the project went went fine I just probably overpaid by a couple of hundred dollars..lesson learned..

Wonderful! Excellent work. Frank & Mario from Top Notch Chimney came out and fixed our chimney on the spot! Frank inspected the chimney and found the clay lining was crumbling. They were prepared to do the job right away. They installed a new stainless steel liner, chimney cap and crown. Frank was personable and professional. He explained the problem and solution thoroughly. The crumbling clay liner was a potential health hazard. We were glad to get it fixed so quickly. It meant a lot to us that a second trip out was not needed as a storm was coming through that night. It was comforting to know the chimney was fixed and the furnace was working properly. I would recommend Top Notch to anyone and I would use them again for any chimney issue.

Called them to have my chimney cleaned. He came an claimed to have cleaned my chimney. Left after about twenty five minutes. Cleaned the fireplace and chimney from inside the house. Called him back when I went on the roof to clean the metal cap. The top of the chimney was not touched. When he came back he cleaned the chimney off the roof. Had him leave and I vacuumed the fireplace and collected about a quart of creosote form the second cleaning. Used larger brush this time When I called them I called them to have my chimney cleaned for $150. the person explained that for that price they just brush the chimney for that price. They should clarify that when the person calls. To clean means to clean not brush

Was all set to get 3 quotes for this job, but when Top Notch came out and presented themselves as extremely knowledgeable and available to do the job on the spot, we decided to go ahead with it. We’ve had chimney work on another house in the past and felt the quote was reasonable. Top Notch completed the job, showed us before and after pictures and inspected the inside of the chimneys too. They took care to repair the chimneys so what could be seen from the ground wasn’t altered. They also sprayed sealant on both chimneys and demonstrated its affect. Work has a 10 year warranty. Overall, very pleased.

They did a great job!

Very, very well. Two able-bodied young men climbed the roof, cleaned out the chimney, replaced with a new, stainless steel central safety vertical system, then replaced another section of heating system, i.e., another pipeline (so to speak) that lead to furnace. Thus, soot will now properly leave the furnace area and water won't collect in chimney any longer. Also installed stainless steel weather shield (cap). Notably, the men worked efficiently, were pleasant and professional. We couldn't have asked for a better service transaction.

The work was done quickly and professionally. The company offered to come out the following year to inspect the work. Even offered to paint the cap because it was starting to rust.

We got quotes from several contractors for our chimney repair. Top Notch did the most thorough review of our chimney prior to giving us a quote. They are the only company that got on the roof to inspect the damage. They gave us the best price on top of being the most thorough. They did a great job and the work was completed within a week of the quote. Very easy to work with

Was done in June. Convinced me to have smoketite applied. Rescheduled 2 times a day before the appointment due to the weather. First 4 courses and crown were rebuild and flutes capped with SST caps. Noticed serious leak through the chimney in January. Called to request repair which resulted in application of some silicon around caps and statement that my flashing is not done properly. Chimney continued leaking. Went to inspect the crown and flashing, and found 1/16-1/8 gaps around flutes. Called for repair which resulted in a contraption of silicon and pieces of rubber on the crown which still leaks. Will be removing the rubber/silicon covering on my own and sealing it with a crown sealer. Overall, the work that was done is good. I have no complains about the brick work and caps. However, i paid to have it done 99.99%. Situation with the crown is surprising and frankly laughable.

I have mixed feelings about this experience. On the one hand, the guys found something that was genuinely wrong (and dangerous) with my chimney, and fixed it without charging me extra. On the other hand, I suspect they half-assed some of the work I originally asked them to do. I found them through an AL promotion, and am still not confident that we got the math right. They were eager to communicate when trying to get my business, but not that communicative when they were doing the job (while I was out of town) or afterward. About 6 weeks later, I was at a friend's house and met another chimney repair specialist, mentioned that Top Notch had recently worked on my chimney, and he made a face. Through the course of the conversation, I got the impression that he thinks they're just so-so... and so do I.

Top Notch was on time and courteous. Quote for work was reasonable, but upon inspection, technician said chimney was extremely clean due to the prefab materials and straight run to the roof cap. He said he could perform the service, but it wouldn’t be necessary. Very little would be removed if the walls of chimney were scraped. I thanked him for his honesty and technician did not charge a fee for coming out to the house for the service call! Try to find professionals like that nowadays!

Once we decided to go ahead and get all the work done at once, Top Notch staff worked with us around medical to schedule our job ASAP. They were on time, kept to the estimated cost and didn’t leave so much as a smudge, inside or out.
