"[Member Name Removed], I'm sorry but our refund policy is printed on the contract you signed (It is the 2nd sentence on the back). When payments are made by check, a refund cannot be issued for 10 days after the check is deposited. This is to protect the business in case someone bounces a check or makes stop payment. We explained this to you when you cancelled. We have all the phone records and voicemails that show the series of events: You signed a contract on a Friday in the mid-afternoon (9/30). We deposited the check on Monday morning (10/3). At 7PM Monday you called to cancel. This was processed by our office Tuesday morning (10/4) at 8:30AM, by which time you were screaming at our staff to get your money back. We informed you then that the refund check would be issued 10 days later. You continue to call nearly daily and were a bit abusive to our staff to the point our staff was reluctant to answer and be subjected to the verbal abuse and lectures, however we never ducted any calls. The refund check was written and mailed 1st class by USPS on 10/10. However, you did not deposit the check until 10/18. I'm sorry if the USPS did not deliver the mail in a timely manner or if it was too difficult for you to get to the bank. Our refund policy is what is is because unfortunately there are some unscrupulous types out there that will make a payment via check and insist on a refund while issuing a stop payment and the business is left holding the bag. Credit card refund are processed immediately and usually post within 48 hours."

well managed. Responsive, professional team.

They provided a quick, timely estimate after a thorough inspection/review of property.

We were on a tight time line to prep home for sale.

Response from Budget Dry Waterproofing, Inc.
"This was a large project that required numerous operations. The homeowner was a pleasure to work with and we even felt he was part of our team. We had to cut up and remove an old commercial freezer, cut up and remove a very large old broken cement floor, coordinate removing an oil tank, grade the floor, pouring a very large cement floor, installing vapor barrier on the wall, install a drainage system in the floor prior to pouring, paint some walls and cement columns, replace an aging entry door to the cellar, and add dehumidification. We are pleased that everything went smoothly and your extremely pleased. My understanding is you were able to sell the house within 30 days. Congratulations!"

This is a follow up to my original review. After my review was posted I was contacted by the head of the company. I explained my concerns and he seemed to understand them. He fully refunded the inspection fee. Frankly, this kind of response does not occur often and I commend Budget Dry for its responsiveness.

My experience with Budget Dry could not have gone better.  They did a great job from start to finish.  I was very impressed with the crew's professionalism.   The egress window and other windows look great.

This is a great example of why I would hire Budget Dry again.   A couple weeks before the work was set to begin, I was informed that my central A/C unit needed to be moved out of the way before any digging could be done.   Two things concerned me about that.  First, the extra cost of having the unit disconnected and second, not having the unit available so close to memorial day weekend, which is when it tends to get really hot and humid.   Had I known that initially, I probably would have scheduled the work to be done in early May before it got hot.

Because that part was not in the original estimate, Budget Dry picked up the cost of the A/C technician to do the disconnect / reconnect.  (they contacted my regular A/C company to do the work, which I really liked).   Jason started the digging on a Saturday so his team could get a head start and finish the project as quickly as possible so that they could get the A/C unit back up as soon as possible.  The concrete cutters came in on Monday and the installation crew came in early on a Tuesday to do their work, even though it had been raining in the early morning hours (I wasn't expecting them because of the rain).  The rain stopped around they time they got here and held off the rest of the day.   My A/C unit was back up and running a couple days later, just in time for consecutive 90+ degree and humid days.

Thank you to Jason, Chris, Mike, Tim, Brandon and Andrew for the great work.

"Unfortunately your Bilco door was not a standard size. Custom hatchway doors are expensive since there are limited number of manufactures, need to be shipped from out of state and are made of heavy gauge steel which adds to the shipping cost. If things change in the future we are hear to serve."

My house is about 90 years old and the basement had an old school style drainage system Ā and a portable sump pump. Ā My issue was that the water table was so high that the water was coming in the original sump pump drain. Ā I have had a "damp basement" for the last 10 years. Ā Since installing, all the snow has melted and several days of heavy rain have happened and the basement is DRY!! Ā Such a beautiful sight after years of dreading going down in the basement to see what happened after every storm.
This is actually the second time I have used them. Ā
The first time was to repair a crack in the mortar within the stone foundation wall to stop some seepage of silt/mud and water. Ā This was done in October. Ā they injected material to seal the crack and painted the walk with water resistant paint. Ā That has held up beautifully as well.Ā
Mark and Brianna have been wonderful to work with. Ā Brianna was great in coordinating and scheduling. Ā I didn't even need to be at the house when they came to do the work either time. Ā Both times they left my house and basement clean and secured. Ā It was great to not have to worry about having to be at home and knowing everything was being taken care of.
I certainly recommend them and will definitely hire them again... I just hope I don't need to. Ā :)

Just bought a house and wanted to get the sump pump inspected. The guy showed up, very respectful, saw the pump, and told me that all he can do is normal "outside" inspection and make sure it works, because it was an old pump.Ā
Very happy with the guy and the company.

"The customer called two days before her installation of her sump pump to cancel the job. This was over 2 weeks after she made the original purchase and far beyond the the three day right of recession. We explained the deposit was non refundable since the short notice wouldn't permit us to schedule someone else that day. She indicated she no longer wanted the sump pump and we did agree to install windows which reduced her transaction price by 50%. This is not a case of the customer being dissatisfied by the service, product or customer service."

I had a wet basement and the provider chiseled out a trench and installed a sump pump. The positive: the area where the trench is installed works and water doesn't come in. The other positive is that the job was relatively inexpensive. So, the "job" worked, water is not coming in. But, I think the job looks bad / ugly. The cement they used to cover the trench has already split in several spots plus it is super thin in some areas. This is not what I consider a quality job. The did solve my water problem but it doesn't look good. I wish I had spent a little more and gotten a nicer looking job.
If you want cheap -- get these guys; it works. But looks ugly. If you want a job that looks nice, then don't get these guys.
Note: I don't remember the exact date of installation of price. The above May 1st date and 3000 is my best memory.

"I offer the following information not as an excuse rather an explanation. As you may remember when you had a problem originally you called and I came right out to inspect your basement. Together we developed a solution to extend your system. Had we been notified of any additional issue we would have responded in a similar fashion I will send a diagram of the footer construction to help explain why there is a hollow sound. Basically the foundation extends 4ā€ into he basement under the floor. There was originally anywhere from 2ā€ to 3ā€ of cement on top of the footer and then the floor get a little thicker after the footer ends. We need to put a layer of stone approx. Ā¾ā€ thick and the corrugated plastic over the stone to aid into the water connectivity to the pipe. When the floor was originally poured it’s all one piece. Now we joined 2 sections together. Some cracking is to be expected because the cement is not being made in a commercial truck but by hand and requires more water. As the water evaporates shrinking occurs and crack between the old and new concrete can occur. However I would agree that the crack is more significant in the corner adjacent to the pump. This rarely occurs and I am not sure why it happened. Just like the first time you had an issue I responded immediately. I understand this is how she feels but it doesn’t properly reflect what kind of company we are."

"You indicated when you scheduled your appointmentt that you have a dehumidifier that is filling daily and you have to manually empty it. You also indicated that you a musty basement odor. Our inspector recommended a dehumidifier that can remove up to 11 gallons of water per day, empties itself, and will reduce the electrical cost by half. This was based on utilizing a hygrometer which measures the percentage of moisture in the air. It's a relatively small invest of $1600. I am sorry your perceive it to be sales job. almost all basement require some sort of dehumidification"

This was a job I had been putting off for years, partly as my previous estimate from another provider was quite high, and the work very involved.Ā  Once I found Budget Dry, that changed everything.Ā  I had basement water leaks from the foundation penetrations for two wells and the sewer line.Ā  The bulkhead leaked like crazy.Ā  It is a full concrete basement so I really wanted to return it to it's potential.Ā  Budget dry got right back to me after I initially contacted them through Angie's List, came out right away, and came up with some very reasonable solutions, mainly injections for the foundation penetrations and installation of a floor drain with sump in front of the bulkhead.Ā  I went ahead and got them to replace both the inside (waterdamaged) door, and the outer door set (Bilco).Ā  Everything was done on time except the shipper for the Bilco doors damaged the unit, so that took a little more time.Ā  I very much appreciated that the office staff kept in contact all through the process, with reminders about the appointments for both estimating and actually doing the work.Ā  The bottom line is that the basement is now completely dry, through many very heavy rains over the last six months since the job was completed.Ā  I could not recommend anyone higher.Ā  Fantastic job on all accounts.
