THOROUGHSPECT, LLC
About us
Your home will be inspected & documented w/annotated phots provided to show what has made it in and how including but not limited to water in your basement, mice, bats, flying squirrels. In addition, This will help you understand what needs to be done to stop them from getting inside in the first place and then we can professionally seal it with non-chewable materials. We service lower Fairfield County, CT and parts of Westchester County, NY. Brian’s career in the pest control business began over 25 years ago. He spent three years in the southern United States learning from a world-renowned entomologist (among others) and helped start the Sentricon baiting program for termites with Dow Elanco. Brian advanced through the field to eventually run a major sales force and acquired a distinctive edge in the business. Through this experience, Brian realized he wanted to return to his home state of NY and create his own niche in the rodent control market. He developed a highly successful approach, rejecting the easy but environmentally unsound approach of poison – and instead relying on hard work, common sense, and the correct materials to prevent rodents from entering people’s homes in the first place. Fast forward a few years, and Brian began to realize there were additional niches in this area that needed to be more friendly towards the environment and the clients’ health. He therefore co-invented the Enviroboot® Dust Suppression System to help control the toxic silica dust that is produced when concrete is broken with a jackhammer. The result was a reduction in toxic dust greater than 97% according to the EPA and was awarded the 2006 US EPA CLEAN AIR EXCELLENCE AWARD. Brian M. Sweig has a special set of skills and licenses in NY and CT including Nuisance/Wildlife, Home Improvement, and Home Inspection (CT), Mold Assessment and looks forward to helping make your home a better place for you and your family.

I'm not sure whether it was Thoroughspect or the wildlife control officer, but I was told that the repair to the soffit had to be metal, not wood; the carpenters were able to construct/mold and paint a metal flashing piece that looked like the other soffits.
The wildlife control officer told me that I couldn't simply remove the limbs on the left side of tree and that the whole tree would need to be removed as it look very unbalanced.
"Hello, I spoke with this client a few minutes ago and went over my findings from the inspection which was for mice. She said she thought that she gave me a positive review and appreciated the additional info on potential mold in her home. The additional info on how to make her dehumidifiers bucketless so it would save her time and effort of changing buckets daily. She said the pictures of her attic that I had sent her were of only one attic and that she remembered after an hour while I was inspecting that there was another attic that she showed me as I was basically getting into my car. I love to show people what I find in and around their homes and for the most part it is understood and appreciated. Thanks for the review Brian"
"Hello, Glad to be of service. Brian"
He did a better review of my home than my original house inspector. No pressure to purchase other services, he was just incredibly helpful.
Anyone who retains his services will be 100% satisfied with his work and will be thankful they did.
The information he provided me was invaluable, and I know he would do the same for any other home owner as well.
Thanks again
"Hello, So besides the monetary benefits of my profession this review and the ability to actual make a difference in people's lives is why I love what I do. Most homeowners are not aware of what is really going on in the unfinished areas of their home and it can cause serious health issues if left undiagnosed and untreated. I thank you for this great review. Brian M. Sweig"
All the work that Brian and team did was done flawlessly and at price that was very fair. The front of my home had several signficant holes in the wood siding as well as along the frame of my home caused by woodpeckers. When the work was completed, including painting where the damage was, my house looked perfect again.
I would trust Brian and team to inspect any home I ever purchased. He is not only professional but he is knowledgeable about all aspects of a home. He is kind and professional, and did an amazing job. I would highly recommend Thoroughspect.
"Hello, We do our best to go the extra step for each client and enjoy it when it gets noticed. Thanks for the fabulous review and Happy New Year. Brian"
"Hi, Thanks for the great review and be well. Brian"
"Hello, I truly enjoy the positive feedback that comes from my love of inspecting. People are so happy with the thoroughness and attention to detail. When we seal a home we take that same thorough attitude and knowledge and create what I know is by far the most comprehensive rodent exclusion package anywhere. With pride and respect, Brian M. Sweig"
"Hi, This was an email snafu and has now been corrected hopefully with the review as well. Thanks Brian"
"Hello, Thanks for the great grade. Brian"
"Hello, Thanks for the grade. Brian"
"Hello all, While I don't perform Home inspections I do find a good deal of faults in homes and for more than 20 years my clients have really appreciated it. While I still haven't found "Hoffa" I have found some pretty cool things from gas leaks to mold issues that were affecting people's health. I get holiday cards from time to time as most clients appreciate the above and beyond approach. Check out our Faultfinder™ Inspection as you won't believe what the bang for the buck is! Thanks and happy holidays Brian"
"Hello We do love the first letter of the alphabet! Thanks Brian"
"Hi Thanks for the great grade Brian"
"Hi, Thanks for the grade Brian"
"Hi, Well I'm used to better grades so I gues I could have don e a better job in some way, shape or form but I'm pretty sure this was when I had back surgery so I was slower to respond. As far as price it is always is based on the condition, size of the home to be sealed and the type of infestation to be cured. Thanks for the review Brian M. Sweig"
"Hello, Thanks for the great grades and the review as I always look for feedback. I give everyone the same thorough inspection with pride in finding all faults that a homeowner should be aware of. Thanks Brian M. Sweig"
in my attic, I did a fair amount of research and found that most
services used toxic chemicals to control these flying rodents. This was
not what I wanted in my house under any circumstances. I found
Thoroughspect on Angie's List. Made the call with my list of questions
only to spend almost an hour on the phone with Brian going over exactly
what he would do, without using ANY chemicals, to solve my problem. I
was sold!
Brian first examined the perimeter of my attic and my
foundation. His proposal included photos of the areas where the critters
were making their way in and what type of trap or seal he would use
where. He set up one way traps for live capture, sealed small spaces
with copper mesh and wire cloth with adhesive and one way exit traps
were installed where they was space. Brian or a member of his staff have
returned about 3 or 4 times to inspect the traps during the past eight
months since we began this odyssey. On every visit and contact with Thoroughspect, I felt very comfortable
with the ability, thoroughness and cleanliness of Brian and his crew.
Once the "mating" season for
rodents had passed and there was no sign of additional infestation,
Brian suggested another firm be brought in to sanitize the infested
area with an air scrubber to remove all rodent fecal matter, disinfect
with an EPA Registered cleanser and replace the insulation.
I was very impressed with how professional and courteous Brian, his staff and
the other firm were at all stages of my "problem". While it was more
expensive that others, it was chemical free and I am VERY comfortable in
my house! Thank you Thouroughspect!
"Hi, Thanks for the great review as it is much appreciated. Every time I talk to clients at the completion of the sealing or a year later I really enjoy the feeling of their enthusiasm of living rodent/bat free. Living rodent free will change your life!™ Really! Thanks and it was great working with you. Brian M. Sweig"
"Hi Thanks for the grade. Brian M. Sweig"
"Hello all, With the issues that were dealt with on this home I thermal imaged to make sure all looked the way it should for this type of seal. Owners were super nice and much appreciated. Living rodent free will change your life!® Thanks Brian M. Sweig"
"Hi, Thanks for fabulous grade on my inspection Brian M. Sweig"
"Hi Thanks for the great grade. I always look for feedback on the actual inspection so if I inspect your home please tell me what you thought in addition to grades. I look forward to inspecting your home. Thanks Brian M. Sweig"
"This was a complicated work scope that I'm very proud of. Thanks for the nice review and allowing Thoroughspect to fulfill you request of "Living rodent/bat free as it will change your life!® Thanks Brian m. Sweig"
"Hello, So every now and again you deal with someone who is simply not realistic. Here are the facts. It was an after hours purchase of a big deal and I responded through the message center within 1 hr that I would get back to her the next day. I looked up the address so I could figure out where she would fit into my inspection availability and realized this was a multi residential home that is impossible to seal as all four sides cannot be gotten to. I then called her to let her know this and she was not upset and agreed to contact Angies and I thought that was pretty normal. Then the fun started where she actually gave me all F's and said I was unresponsive as a company and wasted her time so I called and asked why she would leave a review in that manner. She then hung up on me so I sent a letter asking her to remove the untrue review as I work extremely hard and honestly to earn them. Her revised review should have included what I have just stated but the good news is if you have a free standing home Thoroughspect can in most cases seal it without the use of any poisons as "Living rodent free will change your life!®" I love what I do and look forward to inspecting your home. Respectfully Brian M. Sweig"
We decided to hire Thoroughspect to seal our home, and that went very well too. When I had a concern or question Brian responded very quickly.
Will use this company again.
"Hi Thanks for the great review. There is nothing better than living rodent free as it will change your life™! Brian M. Sweig"

"Hi Thanks for the kind words. I look forward to working with you. Brian M. Sweig"
"Hi, I appreciate the compliment and am happy we could provide you with an informative critter inspection. The sealing of a home takes a good deal of effort and knowledge to complete correctly as most clients find out sooner or later. We look forward to having you live rodent free. Brian M sweig"
