Description of Work: Renovated a bathroom. The work was done in a timely manner with everything laid out as per the written proposal I got beforehand. The workers were courteous and competent, the cost was reasonable, and the quality was very good. Would definitely recommend these guys.

Description of Work: They finished my basement, on time and on budget. Very efficient job, but quality was certainly not sacrificed in favor of speed; a rare combination of the two. True, you might be able to find a cheaper provider, but better value? Highly doubtful! Scott is great to deal with and his people are top notch! Absolute attention to detail and only the highest standard of craftsmanship will be delivered.

Description of Work: Ok, so we did not go through with any of the things we had planned on................... Nothing to do with Scott though, we would refer him in a heartbeat to friends/family and will use him in the future. We are at a point where we are not sure if we want to further price our house out of the market and therefore decided not to go ahead with Scotts design recommendations. We loved his professiomalism, passiom and work ethic and would only use him if we re-consider or move and have work we need to do. I have interviewed many contratctors and not only is Scott great but all colleagues that work for and with him have to be too, you get what you pay for and he'd be worth every penny.

Description of Work: Over the last six years, Old World Craftsman has done at least 8 jobs for me, with a total cost of approximately $80,000. Everything they have done has been excellent. This has included new doors, windows, and exterior renovation and some more general maintenance items. We have an 85 year old house with lots of original detail, and they have done a fantastic job or recreating some of these flourishes in their renovation work. Recently, they replaced some some carved beams that are set in the stone wall and are cantilevered to support a balcony. They only had to replace 3 of the 4 beams, but they reproduced the carvings so well that you cannot tell which beam is the original. They've also recently done some more routine work for me, like adding some French doors. Of course, in an old house, even routine jobs can have some surprises, and they deal with these professionally and fairly.

Description of Work: Replace single front storm door and front entry door with a single sidelight frame door and storm door. Careful attention had to be placed on the exterior aluminum siding since the original door frame needed to be widened from a single door entry to a single door plus sidelight frame. (Siding was not planned to be replaced at this time). Header and door frame replaced. Removal of old exterior sconce and repositioning and replacing of new exterior sconce. Repositioning of interior light switches and alarm keypad. Removal and replacing of interior light fixture of entryway.

Description of Work: Basically, the job was to remove an ugly and huge attic fan from a 1929 tudor attic and install a restored leaded glass window into the opening. Also required was to match the textured half timber surround of the window with the rest of the house. Existing half timbers have a chiseled or hand ax-hewn look, so this texture had to be duplicated.

Description of Work: Fully remodel one bathroom, partially remodel second. We purchased plumbing fixtures, vanity, tile through introduction to vendor by OWC. The work was done promptly and with high quality. I would recommend OWC for doing a quality and professional job. OWC is not a low priced service provider, but you get what you pay for.

Description of Work: We bought a house that needs some work. I had some time prior to moving in so I started looking at contractors. I was impressed by Scott. We decided to use Old World Craftsmen. We broke the work into 2 phases, work to be completed before we moved in and a major kitchen remodel.

Description of Work: Installation of the following: premium kitchen cabinets; high-end moldings: (crown, chair rail and baseboard) in multiple rooms; solid wood 6-panel colonial doors throughout home; ornate window and door trim; bathroom accessories (medicine cabinet, chrome: towel racks, shampoo holders etc.)

Description of Work: They did a great job on remodeling our family room, installing crown moldings, and fixing a section of floor. They also designed and retrofitted some new shelves and cabinetry where we had shelving before. The work was very detail oriented and required additional wiring, all done well, for our AV system.

Description of Work: Complete redo of sun room/media room. New tile floor, radiant heat, new cabinetry with wet bar, crafted a mantel, added trims, replaced 2 sets of French doors and screen doors. Description of Work: When we moved into our home about 5 years ago we hired them to do many different projects. They replaced every door and hardware in the house and re-framed our bedroom closets to allow for 2 larger doors. They did a complete re-model of our kitchen which, included multiple custom built storage solutions to fit in unusual spaces and a custom crown moulding. We have also used them to replace all the baseboards in our home and installed a chair-rail in our front foyer and dining room. Most recently they installed crown moulding throughout our home.

Description of Work: We needed a door replaced or refinished. The person who came seemed very knowledgeable, very keen for new business, including more things that we need done around the house. It seemed promising. But then.

Description of Work: I have used the services of Old World Craftsmen of New York, LLC this year. They did the doors, windows and interior painting in my house. They did remodeling of the kitchen, bathroom and closets. They also did some carpentry work and plastering.

Description of Work: New master bathroom with shower, jacuzzi and high-end tile/vanity. Required reconfiguration of 2nd floor hall and 3 closets. Workmanship was magnificent. Project completed on time to my complete satisfaction.

Description of Work: Old World Craftsman over the past several years has a performed renovations and remodeling for us on three separate occasions - each time they were a pleasure to work with. The first set of changes included removing a wall between our kitchen and dining room in order to make a 'great room' or family room. This also included custom creation of a large countertop and stools which would be installed in the place where the wall used to be. This worked out very well. In addition, radiators and electrical outlets were moved so that Lincoln French doors with sidelights could be installed on the entire wall facing an elevated deck. This added a good amount of sunlight to the room - and since an existing large window was on that wall, it was carefully moved and re-installed on the wall adjacent to the French doors. On the next visit, Old World Craftsman installed a triple-bank of windows in the master bathroom along with two custom built closets and shelving. The care that went into the questioning on the style, size and placement of the windows in order to match the look and feel of our colonial was appreciated. The trim, molding and attention to detail made the job come out quite nicely - and I was also pleased with the fact that the exterior siding and treatments (shutters) on the house matched the existing siding and treatments perfectly. It was nice to know that my own wishes were courteously countered with suggestions that only an experienced GC can offer - other GCs might've just done what I wanted, but they outcome would've been far inferior. Old World asks the proper questions in order to helpfully guide the homeowner through the process. The third visit included a good amount of electrical work (ceiling fans, etc) and more windows! This time another triple bank of windows was put into our kids room and this made a huge difference in the available light. In addition, every single room door and closet door was replaced with raised panels - Old World took the time carefully fit, adjust and level each door since I am not sure too many right angles exist in our house any more. Old World also performed a number of other smaller services while at the house - including completely removing old stucco interior walls, floor replacements, beadboard installation, painting and various finish/trim work.

Description of Work: They did two different jobs for us. The refurbished a very old front door and then they stained and finished storm doors to coordinate with the front door, and then they installed all of them, which necessitated rebuilding a door jamb as well. In a second job, they refurbished an old interior staircase.

Description of Work: They did some exterior work in a very involved project which involved electrical work, masonry, architecture, and others, and the project also included replacing siding, cleaning up an old mess on the outside of the house, and more. He has been back for smaller jobs as well.
