Out 1957 home had minimal insulation in the attic. Over the years some had been added but there were many gaps which made for uneven temperatures throughout the house. Dave and his crew removed the old inefficient patchwork of insulation. They then added channels around the rafters to promote air-flow. Finally they added blown in insulation to achieve R49 or better. The insulation is already making a difference in even temperatures all through the house. Dave and his team were punctual, professional and unobtrusive. The office was very communicative keeping us aware of all phases of the work. We highly recommend Dave and his company.

Very well. Took time to cut the Sheetrock cleanly so it could be repaired easily. It was quick, clean and on budget. We believe it will be very effective. This winter should be much more comfortable in the Bonus Room.

The project started with the outside walls. They were thorough and neat. There was a bit of a delay in getting the attic done, but Dave had told us it might take awhile for him to get to us. He was helpful and prompt with the paperwork for us to get our energy rebates.

Dave was easy to set up an initial appointment with, during which he did a thorough inspection of our house and provided recommendations for additional insulation. Since our home was built in 1949, the existing insulation was minimal and our home got quite cold in the winter. He was quick to tell us about the CT state rebate program to pay up to half the cost of the new installation. We followed up with the neccesary auditors (ERTG, who were also great) and got the requisite inspection.
Scheduling a date took a while - it wasn't as easy as I'd have liked to get details about timing, and I later found out that one of their trucks broke down, delaying our initial timeline. However, they were always polite and apologetic, and around 3 weeks later than we expected, the scheduled day came.
The crew was perfectly on time, nice, clean and courteous. They did a great job explaining exactly what they were doing when, and how we needed to prepare. They were even very good with our anxious dog who didn't seem to like them very much. The job was done swiftly and efficiently, and they cleaned up very well when they were done. After they left we promptly received the copy of the invoice and audit form filled out so we can get our rebate, which should be 50% of the work done, saving us around $1400.
I would highly recommend Nealon to anyone looking to further insulate their home.

They did a wonderful job. It was hard work and they were very professional and friendly. I am very pleased with the results--it is like night and day in term so the amount of heat in the attic on a sunny day. This is the second time I have used them... They also poured insulation into our house a few years ago and that made a huge improvement as well.

A very good company, they did the primary insulation on our restored beach house over 10 years ago and there was no drop-off in service or quality when we called them back recently.

They did a very good job with this project. They did what they said they were going to do. They were very neat and very professional. They were able to come in at what they quoted me. One issue that came up is that they were unable to remove the mold that they initially were going to as stated in the quote. My homeowners ended up covering the issue so it was not an issue. I would recommend them. I was very pleased with the whole experience.

Nealon Insulation upgraded our insulation as a result from an energy audit. They added insulation in our attic, in a couple of areas between the ceiling and floor in our garage. They also added insulation in a couple of other areas in our home. The staff was pleasant, professional and did the job.

We finally got a spot for an appointment in February. It was a nice day out, almost 50 degrees. Probably not that comfortable in the attic but better than July I suppose. The Company had called earlier to warn me that the techs would be running late. The techs Rob and Ron showed up about an hour later. they apologized for running late and went over how the process would go and about how long it would take. Both techs took a look at the attic and began prepping. Ron mainly stayed out side getting the hose, insulation and electrical setup. Rob started getting the vents setup and in place. Rob then had me come up to the attic to point out some mold he had noticed growing on the rafters. He also pointed out that it looked like the soffets were not vented and that if they weren't that it would be beneficial to get those done so that the air could circulate to help clear out the mold. After Rob got the vents in place they began pumping in the insulation. The whole job took approximately 2 hours. Rob took me back up to the attic to inspect the work. Wow, what a difference, from basically nothing to over a foot. It's been a few weeks now and I can definitely tell the difference. I can't wait until the summer. Both men were courteous and professional. They made sure to put down the appropriate tarps to minimize debris and made sure to clean up afterwards. I would definitely hire this company again to do work.

They were quite accommodating as I needed the removal and re-insulation performed in two different stages to allow installation of replacement drywall in the ceiling as well as replacement of several electrical runs. Everybody I deal with from the initial in-home estimate, both crews who performed the work as well as the office staff were friendly, professional and easy to work with. The only drawback was that they obviously do quality work and the schedule for the first phase of work took a little time to get scheduled but it was well worth it. I now have a warmer home and the experience was a positive one which if I had the opportunity I would use them again without hesitation.

We started the process of getting our insulation done by doing some research. We made several trips to the library, visited various internet sites and forums and called a few consumer groups. We then began interviewing and getting quotes from various insulation installers. Nealon was, by far, the best price and they also offered us the best insulation package. Other companies tried to get us to insulate the ceiling of our attic or use products that we had already learned were inferior. Nealon uses all top quality products and does even difficult jobs like ours for a VERY reasonable price. They also do the job VERY well. So, why didn't I give them perfect marks? This was for a couple of reasons and if you learn from my mistakes, then Nealon might be the perfect company for you and deserve perfect marks when it comes to your job. The job was perfect until they began installing the insulation in my exterior walls. They checked the basement, which is what every insulation contractor should do before blowing in cellulose, because my house is balloon framed. It seemed that there were no holes through which the cellulose might fall through the walls and into the basement. Unfortunately, they missed two, small holes. The holes were small enough that they, eventually, were plugged up with cellulose and the area between the joists in the walls got filled up anyway, but not before I got two big piles of cellulose in my basement. I noticed one of them right away. They came out pretty quickly and removed most of the cellulose. They did not, however, clean up residual dust off of the floor, appliances, fixtures, pipes, etc. I didn't notice the second pile until a couple of days after the first one had already been removed. I have waited and waited, but they STILL haven't cleaned up that one. I view this as being a lack of responsiveness, punctuality and professionalism, although, apart from this issue, they performed perfectly in all of these categories regarding every other step in the evaluation of my home, estimate, answering questions that I had as I spoke with other contractors, removing old insulation, installing new insulation, etc. At the end of the day, they did a great job for a great price. They're nice guys and they really know their stuff. Anybody else could have made the mistake that they made. The holes in the frame were very small and easily missed. If you hire Nealon, or any other installer, learn from my mistake. Take a look in the basement while they are installing and after they finish. Really search around carefully. If mistakes are made, the best thing to do is to catch them while the contractors are still at your home. So that's the story. They're a great company, one of the best really, but I just had a bad experience that made it impossible for me to give them top marks.

Our house was built in 1889, so there was no insulation. They blew in insulation to help more efficiently heat the house, and it was quite effective. Although their prices were a little higher, they did an excellent job, and it was worth the extra cost to have it done well the first time. They had a great attention to detail, and they spent some time pointing out other areas of the house that need work, such as some areas that would need to be caulked. They are very busy, but they did the work when they said they would, and they did the work in two days. Once they got started, they were very responsive. I would certainly use them again in the future.

The crew spent 3 full days working on project. Very professional and cordial; credit offered for walls which appeared to have batting (existing insulation). Time will tell if this was money well spent to save energy; however, I can 'feel' the difference already.

The experience was very good overall. Our initial contact for the estimate was very thorough. He spent a good amount of time inspecting our house and answering all of our questions. We had 2 other companies come to give us estimates. Nealon's estimate was the lowest and they were going to do the most. They were obviously interested in doing the job right. (They included removing the fiberglass insulation in our attic that was installed wrong.) They did the job in 3 days. They were on time, professional, and thorough. We have been very pleased with the results already. Also, I was very impressed that they were using "green" products. They are one of the only contractors in the state installing the ultra-touch cotton fiber insulation (made from recycled fibers). We were able to qualify for a rebate and they were very responsive to my requests for additional documentation when the rebate people asked for them.

Although the crew discovered that they hadn't brought certain materials needed to maintain soffit ventilation, as was agreed upon, they purchased these locally and then proceeded to do a nice job installing / blowing in the insulation. They were polite and did a nice neat and thorough job. They lived up to the recommendations from two local references that I checked out, who were happy with their experience with the company.

THEY DID A WONDERFUL JOB ON ANSWERING ALL THE QUESTIONS THAT I HAD ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF THE NEW INSULATION. I WAS TOLD FROM THE PREVIOUS OWNERS THAT IT NEEDED TO BE DONE, BUT THEY DIDN'T TELL ME WHY. I AM GLAD IT WAS DONE THOUGH.
