He came in and took a look at my garage and told me they'd recommend replacing both springs, which is what I was told when I made the appointment so this was completely expected. The problem came in when after he told me that, he told me that he didn't have the necessary parts on the truck. I'm not sure how someone coming to replace garage door springs would not have springs on the truck. Like I said this vendor had done work on my garage before and I have a simple single car garage door and had explained I had two springs - one over each rail. The guy told me something about trucks breaking down and he had to take a different truck and didn't know it wasn't stocked properly. This means that they knew he was going to be later than expected all along and did not tell me that and that they wasted my time waiting for work to be done that couldn't be done anyway. He said he could fix it temporarily but would have to come back. I expressed concern at having to wait again and proceeded to call the office. When I called the office and let them know that the parts were not on the truck, I was told that it was the driver's fault and they couldn't do anything about it other than reschedule. They said all this happened within the three hour window so I was being unreasonable expecting that any message they gave me about arrival times prior to the driver arriving was accurate. I said the attitude I was given by their office and the fact that I would now have to wait another week and stay home for another time window was a bit too much and I didn't want to do business with them. That's when the guy went off on me for being unreasonable. I told the driver I wasn't going to continue to do business with them but he had worked on the temporary fix so I needed to pay him $150. I told him what went on with my calls to the office and was told I could decline for not being happy with the service. The one bright spot in everything is that the driver really was a professional. It's unfortunate he was put in the middle because the office seemed overwhelmed and decided to be rude.
I have scheduled the work with a different provider.
