We signed a contract with Tim Larson, Connecticut Framing & Construction in October, 2021 for finishing basement, adding sunroom and deck. Mr. Larson, indicated that he had a big crew of 25 people and equipment, which has proved to be false. He has agreed to finish our project within 3 - 4 months. After two years since the contract was signed, Mr. Larson has left my project half done even after receiving full payment. There are still open permits with the town. The flooring & walls are unfinished, electrical system is not fully functional and the plumbing and gutters aren't completed. Now he has blocked my numbers and haven't responded in the last 3 months. Mr. Larson has conned me into signing a contract with his company by willfully misrepresenting his abilities. He has left my house with permit violations and in unsafe condition.

Description of Work: I hired him on oct 30. I wrote him a check for $18,000 and that day he promised to come out to work to do pictures and measurement. He is been lying to me the whole time and said to him I want my money back. Every time I ask my money back He would tell me " we're gonna start work and said he's gonna contact town hall for the building permit. I contacted the town hall back and forth, I found out he didn't submit a plan, didn't pay for the permit, he done nothing.

Terrible, Tim Larson was lying to us from the start. We originally hired Tim to do just siding. He requested a cash deposit initially to get started on the siding. He started the siding with an initial crew and did one side of the house but that crew never returned. We were interested in replacing our sliding glass door and removing a french door and replacing it with a double window with a transom. We paid for the slider and the double window with a credit card on March 5th but later found out that order was never put in until May 20th and he never told us about that. He continued to side the garage while waiting for the window and slider to come in. At that time in late March we decided to replace all of our windows and we were told he will put in the remaining window order in and it would take 10-14 days. Things stopped at the house in April because nothing more could be done without the windows. When the double window and slider were delivered in mid June that’s when they were installed and there was a problem. Tim ordered 6” extension jambs instead of 4” jambs. Instead of using a straight edge to cut 2” off he just used a circular saw and cut the jambs by eye. The jambs were cut crooked and jagged and now the jamb does not fit flush up against the interior casings. The interior extension jamb and casings needed to be replaced and the work was not done to our satisfaction. On June 23rd Tim asked for the remaining balance on the 20 windows ordered. Only 4 more windows were delivered and those windows also had 6” jambs and needed to be cut. Tim tried multiple times to install these windows with new jambs and interior casings but again not to our satisfaction. We were waiting for Tim to finish the siding and the windows in the back of the house but was he and his crew were not coming over for most of the month of July and we didn’t know or understand why. Tim was here only a few days and when he was here it was mid to late afternoons for only a couple of hours. On July 25th he came over on a Saturday to install and paint the interior casing on our upstairs windows and he dropped a can of white paint out the window onto our deck. The paint splattered all over and he proceeded to get a power washer to clean it off and ruined our trex deck. The deck needs to be replaced now. This is when we wanted to fire Tim but we talked to him and decided to give him one more chance to finish the job. The siding that was done in back of the house needed to be taking down and replaced and new Tyvek wrap put on. He sent his 2 sons to do the work and they put of scrap pieces of Tyvek all over the back and it was not cut and taped properly, was a complete mishmash. That’s when we finally decided enough is enough and we fired Tim. We started looking into where the rest of our windows were that we paid and ordered. We paid for all of our 20 windows and slider but only have 5 windows and a slider. I tried to call Tim numerous times but he did not answer any text, emails or phone calls. I called the window company and distributor and could not get an answer. I drove an hour to the window company and spoke to the general manager in person. He printed out the window order and told me only 5 windows and a slider were ever ordered and not the 20 windows we were told were ordered and paid for. The window order also showed that the 5 windows and slider were ordered on May 20th with the distributor, not on March 5th when we placed and paid for the order. Tim not only lied to us about when the window order was placed but he also took our money for the entire 20 windows but only ordered 5 windows and a slider. We are currently trying to get reimbursed and refunded from Tim but he is refusing to talk to us. He left us no choice but to leave this negative review. We have nothing nice to say about Tim Larson and Connecticut Framing and Construction.
