This was actually the reason why we joined Angie's List. We had such a terrible experience with this guy that we said we are joining Angie's List and we are never using anyone until we have vetted them through checking them out on Angie's List. We had to pay thousands and thousands of dollars to get his job fixed, then we found out that the guy that came and corrected his work knew of at least one other woman who had called him in tears because he had done the same thing to her. Unfortunately, he had ruined her concrete so they had to jackhammer it all out. He literally just put us through hell, but at least in our case we were able to fix it without having to jackhammer it all out, but it was still astronomically expensive to fix it. He came back and botched it up at least 3 different times. He was just horrible with anything. He was really unethical and did not obviously have the training or the expertise to do it appropriately to professional standard. Once I was home, and he had literally fumes everywhere and I have 4 small children. He didn't bother to vent the house and didn't bother to tell us what he had done so my husband and I and our 4 small children had to crash at a friend's house for the night because the house was uninhabitable. It was completely unacceptable. Then next we found out he had lied about several different things including he did not use the correct grinder to get the job done right. At that time because we didn't know enough about how complex and how much expertise you really need to do concrete appropriately, we thought it was pretty simple 3-4 processes just like painting. Well it isn't, and you have to spend a lot of money to have the right grinders and things to get the job done right. He just told us lies and said there are no other options than to do it that way. That was not true. He was just too cheap to rent the correct equipment. At one point, he painted over all of his mistakes and then paint peeled up. He blamed the product. It was just full on. We haven't taken him to court and we never bothered to file with the Better Business Bureau because we have 4 small kids and we are working as professionals, and we even don't have the time and energy to go out. I would like other consumers to be protected against them, and with all that money, not only that we did not get what we promised, but we had to spend literally tons of thousands of dollars to correct his work. It was very, very damaging. If we had an Angie's List membership at that time, maybe we would not have gone with him or we would have found someone with good reviews, but I did go to his website and he had all these glowing testimonials and gave us references of different places. We went out and checked his work, and we thought we had done our due diligence, but sometimes it is just not enough.
