I hired Colorado civil construction, inc. to dig for my foundation to be installed and the price started at $1800 then they hit into rock and they started charging mean hourly rate. The quotes went from $3000 to $6000 Then 12,000- 18,000 Then we agreed that we would not go over 21,000. 21,000 I thought was the final amount. Then I received a bill for 30,000 So I agreed to pay him $30,000 Cash. We agreed that if I paid him 30,000 cash He would Backfill my foundation And Hall Rock to a hole on my property and no more. I told I have no more money to spend on this project. Don't do any more work When Then we agreed on! I don't know how I could have been more clear. Then I received another bill for $13,000 I call him immediately and told Mike I did not agree any more work why are you sending me a bill for $13,000? He said the work is done you need to pay me. I said I did not agree to this. Then he lowered the price to $9000 I told him I'm not paying I have no more money to spend on this project I did not agree to any work. Then he got mad and sent me a bill for 17,000 Then he threatened to put a lean on my house if I do not pay this money. I tried to contact him several times by phone and email He would not respond to me He did file a lean on my property. I feel like this is a scam or rip off. I told him not to do any more work. I should not have to pay Or have a lien on my house Because of this. On our first phone call after I received the bill I did try to work this out I offered to pay him half of his original invoice Just to settle this so it would not go any farther And he refused. I have been a business owner for over 30 years And I work with a lot of large homebuilders and commercial builders in the area I have spoken with them about this And they all agree they have never heard of anyone paying 30,000 dollars to dig a foundation even when hitting rock my banker who is handling our construction loan also told me she has never seen a bill that high even when hitting rock and the Use of explosives She said the most she's ever seen was 21,000.
