The windows were in August of 2015. The door was in May of 2014. Everything was fine as far as the workmanship and the install. The exceptional thing was one of the workmen put a metal rusted scaffolding across the top of our central air conditioning unit which scratched it. I had to go to the head contractor to tell his guy to do things correctly. We're not happy with that at all. They still haven't fixed it either. I will wait until Spring for that. They're supposed to get it repainted. That was negative.
Description of Work: We had a patio door replaced and three windows replaced last year. They did some siding work after a hailstorm for us.

Installer did a great job on one building, where existing gutters were replaced. On the other building, there were no existing gutters, and it seemed that every decision where there was a simple and obvious assumption to be made was made poorly and without communication. When a gutter could drain out either end, with a lawn on one end and a driveway on the other, he chose to drain onto the driveway where it would make a skating rink. Worse, when I paid him to move that gutter to the other sidfe of the building to remedy that issue and install a new one draining the right way, he made a huge expensive mess on the other side because there was a satellite dish in his way (which could have easily been moved). Without any communication regarding the obstacle, he chopped up the gutter, trimmed my first course of shingles flush with the bottom edge of my roof, and installed a gutter under the shingles to form a dam at the bottom edge of my roof -- the worst possible thing you could do! (and didn't clean up his trimmings). It cost me $675 to have a roofer come out and repair the damage he did to my new roof. Bottom line: If anything is left to the imagination, it will be pooched in the worst possible way. There are just too many things that one cannot anticipate being done in a manner that is contrary to common sense, so I won't use him again. He did seem like a nice fellow, albeit bit disorganized. I just cannot find any way to rationalize the hack-work that he did.
Description of Work: Installed gutters and downspouts on two buildings.

The installation was done in a professional and detailed manner. The door that was installed was 4.5 inches taller than the existing door which required modifying the opening. We had requested unfinished trim be used and the crew handled the modifications to the opening, the door install and finish trim work in an exceptional manner. Polite, industrious, no messing around describes the crew of 3. The finished job looks like it was part of the house and not an add on. However the sliding screen that came with the door was not square and wouldn't close correctly. Charlie Wilson the owner replaced it under warranty. There was a 6 week delay in him getting the replacement screen which kept me from ranking this business higher. My wife and I retired to this area 10 months ago and we have found that getting competent services for our home to be daunting in this area. We first used Wilson Home Improvement last September to have the gutters replaced and they did an outstanding job that time so we had them do the patio door. They were the 3rd or 4th outfit we had contacted for the gutter job and they had the right product at the right price and got it done a week early which saved us from having a crawl space full of water when the massive rains hit a few days later. We plan on using this company for some window replacements in the future.
Description of Work: They installed a Simonton sliding patio door.
