Super good service as usual. Great customer service and superior mechanic work. We were given a loaner van for the weekend just so the battery could be properly tested.
Unfortunately many automotive shops will try sell new part without proper testing the old ones because it take time, effort and knowledge. How do I know? I'm am the son of an auto mechanic and grew up fixing cars, trucks and occasional farm tractors and because mechanics know who the good and bad mechanic shop are - they hear all the results.
Because of my automotive knowledge, I can evaluate automotive service quality very quickly. I screened out many automotive shops quickly when I first moved to Fort Collins in the late 90's and found Community Automotive. I have been taking my vehicles to and trusting them to Community Automotive ever since. Community Automotive has had the same owner, Eric Warrington and given me the same quality service for 17 years.
been impressed by their car knowledge, customer service and reasonable prices.
When I was a student struggling to make ends meet they would go out of their
way to get the cost of repairs as low as possible so I wouldn’t break my bank.
They kept my ’97 Plymouth running well until last year when I was able to buy a
newer car. I always thought they were great, but the experience I had this past
December showed me what an amazing company they are!
My ’09 Subaru Forester was acting up and my family and I were getting ready to do a two-day drive to the
Midwest for the holidays. I took the car to Eric and the crew and they saw that
the catalytic converter was failing. Thankfully, it was under warranty for
another 17,000 miles. Happily I took it to the dealership for the repair but
they would not honor the warranty because the check engine light wasn’t on.
This made no sense to my husband and I since clearly the part was failing. The
dealership told us to drive the car to the Midwest and if the light came back
on we could go to a Subaru dealership somewhere on the road and get it fixed.
We were confounded. That seemed like terrible advice. Back to Community Auto we
went. Feeling at a loss, we asked the owner, Eric, directly if he could help
us. He got one of his crew to drive our car for an hour and a half on the
highway in hopes that the check engine light would come on. No such luck, but
what did happen is that the car stopped accelerating above 40mph and his
employee had to return to the shop on the back roads. Thank God we didn’t take
the dealership’s advice and drive it across country.
By now, we were three days away from leaving, had a car that won’t go over 40 and a dealership that would
not honor the warranty of the failing part. We were stressed to say the least.
Eric took my husband aside and gave him kind words of reassurance that
everything would work out. They didn’t charge us for the hour and a half drive
his employee took either. They were great. There was nothing more they could do
for us, but they had done enough. Everyone at Community Auto went out of their
way for us and really cared about our situation. In the long run, things worked
out. My husband went to the owner of the dealership and got the warranty
honored and we were able to leave for our trip on time.
Because of this experience, I am an even more loyal customer to Community Auto. They treated us with respect
and care in a time of crisis and it made all the difference. I can’t thank them
enough for helping us get through that stressful experience.
I have been using Community Automotive Service for over 14 years. The owner Eric Warrington runs the best auto shop I have every had the pleasure to do business with.
