I rated the price as B only because it was an insurance job and this contractor came recommended. Not having to have had a roof replaced before in CO I do not have a benchmark. The crew that did the work was on time, polite and professional.

Was very happy with the outcome. Before they started the job, the gutter people told us to advise them to do a larger area of snow guards than the original estimate. They got back to us quickly with the new estimate, but when they came to do the job, they only had enough inventory for the first estimate. Somewhere they had lost all the paperwork for the increased size of the order. So they came and did it quickly and then said we would have to have the second part done as a filler on an empty day (after they got the inventory in). That took almost 6 weeks or more later before the second part was done. No harm done by it happening that way, just expected it to be a little quicker. Bottom line, we are happy with their work and would recommend them, but would warn that the scheduling process can be dragged out at times, based on the story above.

They are coming back again in a month or so to certify the roof. They were wonderful. They cleaned up after themselves and were prompt.

Let's see... excellent service and workmanship, "going the extra mile" by dealing with us long distance, and identifying that our insurance company would actually pay for it? Um..yeah. No brainer. These guys are awesome!

Scott Holman was the project manager whom I had used before. He came our right away and gave me a fair estimate and was able to meet the time frame that I wanted. He and his crew did an excellant job and Scott stayed on top of the job. We had a medical emergency with my husband and I could not be here part of the time. The crew took care of any concerns I had if Scott was not here and cleaned up after themselves. I would definitely have them again.

It went very well. I had scheduled 4 companies for quotes and Excel is the only one I would ever do business with again. One salesman told me I would have money in my pocket from the insurance company. I found out he had just arrived from Arkansas to sell roofing. The second salesman was formerly an executive for a home remodeling company that went bankrupt due to law suits filed against them. The third guy called and said he would be at my house in 10 minutes for the estimate. I told him to reschedule as I had salesman #2 scheduled for that time. He never called back. I had a problem with a roof fan vibration after the job was done. I called excel the next morning to let them know about the problem. THe roofing crew manager came that afternoon and fixed the problem. I have not had any issues with the roof since. Excel is a good company . I would use them again.

A State Farm recommended roofer had evaluated our roof after a June 2012 windstorm and told us we had five more years on the roof. Sometime in October or November there was a brief heavy rainstorm during the night. I found a trickle of water running down a wall of our bedroom. Excel in doing routine maintenance (using the thickest shake shingles I've seen) found that the tarpaper around our chimney was "no good". The trickle down our wall had already proven something of the sort to me. My parents-in-law had already recommended them to us and am happy to have found them.

When a roofing company comes for a free estimate DO NOT SIGN THE PAPERS. OR INITIAL ALL THE BOXES. If we had signed our 1st free estimate after a hail storm (THE FIRST ESTIMATE WAS NOT BY EXCEL ROOFING) and our insurance claim paperwork we would have been legally bound for that company to do our roof and if we had chose to go elsewhere (we did go to excel roofing after a few other estimates) we would have to pay them for the labor. We found out the 1st company we got our estimate from had hired people off craigslist and if we signed the boxes on the paperwork the person they sent out would make $100. if we didn"t sign he only made $50. Then the poor guy's car broke down in our driveway. GET IDENTIFICATION FROM ALL PEOPLE. AND READ ALL PAPERWORK CAREFULLY. AND CHECK REFERENCES

They did a great job. About seven workers came and worked all day for two days and were done.

Eric was absolutely great to deal with and we really wished that we could have worked with Excel Roofing. I am also quite certain that they would have done a better job on our roof than the company we ended up going with (North West Roofing, aka Northwest Roofing - which was referred to us by our insurance company, State Farm), but unfortunately I can't say that for sure since they did not do our roof. Eric was so helpful and informative and even stopped by within a few hours of my having requested our quote from him to hand-deliver the quote and an informational package of different roofing types and brands that we had discussed on the phone. He was punctual in returning my calls and emails and overall extremely courteous. The only reason we did not use Excel Roofing was that their quote exceeded our insurance claim allowance by ~$1,000 above and beyond our deductible for replacement of our roof with a standard architectural shingle product and we could not afford to pay the additional amount at this time (to replace our roof with a high-impact resistant product would have added an additional $3,000+). On the other hand, the company we ended up using - North West Roofing - offered to install the qualifying high-impact-resistant roof product for the exact amount that we were allotted by our insurance provider for a standard shingle, which was too good of an offer to pass up, although the quality of the final work wasn't stellar and we are having North West Roofing come back to clean up some messy finish work and repair some siding under the eaves of our house that were damaged by the roofers. They are covering all expenses to do the repair work, but it's still a hassle. It really is true that you get what you pay for!

I guess it was okay - so far. Bad communications about who is going to show up and more importantly when. But I will refrain from giving them kudos until the failed inspection is addressed.

Quality work completed on time as contracted. Clean work site. Office personnel very helpful especially with insurance questions.

I cannot say enough positive things about Excel Roofing. My 20-year-old roof was in bad shape from years of wear and tear. I was paying for the repair myself, so economy was important - but not so important that I was willing to sacrifice quality. Scott from Excel came to my house and gave a complete written estimate. He was punctual, knowledgeable and professional, and made a very good impression - a welcome change from some of the fly-by-nighters who would knock on my door offering to fix my roof. Once the service time was set up, the Excel crew showed up right on time. They finished the job in about a day and a half - and after they left, you couldn't even tell they had been there (except for my beautiful new roof, of course). I would highly recommend Excel Roofing, and would not hesitate to use them again.

I called twice about a roof repair. I was told someone would call me back. I never received a call. I got the definited impression that this company is interested in installing/replacing new roofs, and not repairing existing roofs.

Excellent Job! I would recommend them and here is why. I had the worst looking roof in Wheat Ridge since my roof was the only wood shingle roof in the area. Excel took off the old roof and had a cleanup person on the spot from day one to pick up all the old shingles and nails. I replaced my old roof with a concrete roof and it is now the nicest roof in the neighborhood. I have never had so many people come by and complement me on how nice it looks. I had a round turret on my roof which meant every tile had to be cut to size and it came out perfect. These guys literally worked from early morning until dark and then came out on Saturday to finish the job. If you want come by and take a look I?m at 6630 W. 31st Ave. in Wheat Ridge.

I found the employees and owner of Excel Roofing to be some of the most conscientious folks. An accessible owner is hard to come by these days. Not only were they friendly and courteous but they were extremely professional. The salesman that handled my job, Scott, He did a terrific job of explaining everything to me. I was assured that I would be getting his best crew, and I did. The company pulled a permit for the job. Although an inspection by the city in which I live is required, I was told they pull permits anyway. The materials were dropped off as scheduled and the crew showed up right on time. They were friendly and introduced themselves. The crew that came to my house was managed by Jose B. He spoke very good English and was a great communicator. If you use Excel, ask for Jose B's crew. They put a tarp down on the driveway and parked their trunk on top of it. The tarp protected my driveway from any fluids that may have dripped from their truck (none did). Each of the crew wore a safety harness. I have never seen a roofing crew wear harnesses. Once the old roofing material was removed and placed in the truck, they laid down the ice guard and felt paper. It wasn't long before the shingles went on. They would have been done in a day had they not had to wait for the city inspector. Just before they left, Jose asked me if I wanted him to move the truck from my driveway.. It was very considerate of him to do so as my car was out on the street. Personally, I didn't think it was necessary, so he left it where it was. They neatly stored all of their gear under the truck and covered it with tarps. While they were working on the roof, every couple of hours, one would come down and collect anything that blew into my yard. They did a great job of keeping on top of it. Had they not been hammering on my roof, I would not have known they were there. The quality of the job was second to none. All of the seams between the shingles line up perfectly. There is no discernible squiggle in the pattern of the shingles like you see in some of those fly-by-night roofing jobs. Jose and his crew are very detailed oriented. After they nailed the flashing, they put a small dollop of silicone on each of the nail heads. They also added some flashing where two of the roof lines converged. that should keep any critter out of my house. All in all a very positive experience. I will refer Excel to anyone I know that needs a roof. I gave them a C on pricing because I felt the pricing was comparable to the other bids I had received. Great job, guys!

We highly recommend Excel Roofing, Inc. We were extremely satisfied with their professionalism and quality of workmanship. The project manager did an an outstanding job. He laid out everything up front. He kept us informed on the schedule. And, he visited the job site to ensure work was progressing satisfactorily. The workers were very courteous and hard working. The materials arrived as projected. The work started right on time and all of the work was completed in one day. Cleanup was excellent. We received a follow up call from Excel the following day to see if we were satisfied with the work performed. Of course we were. We would use Excel Roofing, Inc. again without hesitation.

We had a fantastic experience with Gordon Sessions and I would highly recommend this company. They were als several thousand dollars less than another highly ranked company.

The job was done quickly with up graded shingles. Quality of work is great and the company was a pleasure to deal with.

They were excellent to work with. We had the roof replaced 2 years ago after hail damage. They did everything they could to repair the roof and were very polite and willing to bend over backwards to do the job right. There was very little out of pocket cost. If we ever had roofing again, we would be certain to use them. They also added the roofing on the extention of our house which is were the cost came from, they made good on their 5 year warranty with the repairs to correct the leaking problem.

Don't bother. After Excel roofing came out to do a damage assessment, I had to chase them down for over two weeks to try to get an estimate sent to me. It was promised to me over and over again, but it never arrived. July 11: Roofer came to my home to do an assessmentJuly 12: I faxed them the adjuster's insurance estiamte, which they requestedJuly 13: I called them to confirm they received the fax***No communication or estimate was received for a week***. Then....July 19: I called them to ask the status of the estimate. I was told it would be e-mailed to me on Jul 23.July 23: no estimate receivedJuly 24: I called them to ask the status of the estimate. I was told it would be e-mailed first thing on July 25July 25: no estimate receivedJuly 26: I called them and left a message telling them to forget it. I understand that it is a busy time for roofers, but don't promise something you cannot deliver.

They were okay. I just wished they would have watched over the project a little more. They men that were hired were sub-contractors. I ended up having to watch the crew more than Excel did.

Excel Roofing Inc. just did an excellent job overall, their communication was very good. We are very happy with all the work they did. Excel Roofing Inc. reroofed the house, they installed additional roofing soffit vents, put attic installation in the attic, redid our gutters and down stuffs. They're doubly good.

They had a good project manager. They did a timely and efficient job. They knew what they were doing.
