I delivered the TV to the repair facility saving the home destination charge. Unit was in the shop about 5 days, including weekend. Repair tech called to discuss diagnosis and repair charges, kept me well informed about progress. Repair estimates seem to be based upon size of TV rather than specific problem, but I suspect this is the norm. I have a high confidence in the technical talent available at Dans TV. All my questions were answered clearly and professionally.

I ordered the part as per his recommendation at a cost of $275. I got a call about a week later when they told me it is not the lamp but it might be a optical engine, which would end up costing between $1200 to $1400. I told Dan's TV I didn't want to follow through with the repair if it was going to cost that much. They told me I had to buy the lamp even if I didn't get it installed. I gave them my credit card to pay for the lamp even though they admitted they were not sure they would fix my problem. Dan's TV said they cannot return it. I asked for the telephone number of the parts supplier. I called the parts supplier and they said they would take the part back, as long as it was not used and an order number or invoice number was provided. I called Dan's TV back and they have been unable to give me the necessary info to return the part they claimed could not be returned in the first place. I am even willing to pay the shipping to mail the part back and get most of my $275 refunded.

Paul arrived when he said he would and was very courteous. Although the price was slightly higher than the estimate, it seemed like a fair price.
Description of Work: Technician came to house, assessed the TV. There were two issues, horizontal lines and it went dead. He quickly determined the dead problem to be a faulty power cord and that it needed to be taken to the shop to repair the horizontal line problem. He said that it would cost approximately $190 or they would call if it was to exceed that and it would be done within 7 - 10 days. He called back in less than a week and said he was in the area and could bring it by. The cost was actually $200 because of replacing the cord. He put the TV back into the entertainment center and the lines are gone.

Service tech came out yesterday to fix the TV. They charged less then quoted and fixed it quickly. The bad part was they said they'd be there between 11 and 1 and didn't call until a quarter til 1, and didn't get there until 1:45... Time I had to take off work.
Description of Work: Our TV was out... It was a lamp, but we didn't know if it was more or not. The picture came on sometimes, but not always.

THE REPAIR MAN WAS GREAT, HE FIXED TV IN A VERY TIMELY MANNER, WAS POLITE AND SEEMED TO REALLY KNOW WHAT HE WAS DOING. HE WAS VERY PUNCTUAL IN GETTING TO MY HOUSE AS WELL.
