John and Jon are true craftsman as others have commented. Their work is not just basic framing but a true work of art. We had them frame 1100 square feet of a basement finish (master bedroom, 2nd bedroom, master bathroom, family room, and 3 closets.) Their work is impeccable. They worked diligently each day. Their teamwork is like finely tuned instruments playing in harmony. They cleaned up at the end of each day which I greatly appreciated. UPDATE: We had rough-in inspection and failed for framing because the wood fire-blocking was not done. This is part of framing work. We had no intention of using the insulation for fire-blocking and we told Jon this fact. The insulation was being used for sound proofing between floors. The insulation used between floors does not meet code for fire-blocking. We knew it and Jon knew it. This is why we are giving 4 stars for quality. We were also frustrated with the fact we were charged an extra $500 at the end of the job without being asked ahead of time if the charge was ok. When the conversation took place to lower the ceiling there was no mention of there being an additional charge. This is why we are rating a 4 for customer service and a 4 for value for the money.

"The customer notified us that they were going to take care of the insulation which would also take care of the fire blocking. This is the same thing that the inspector said was needed after the framing was done. As for the extra $500; we originally bid the job to soffit in the HVAC but they later said that they would prefer to have the whole ceiling lowered to a standard 8' ceiling--the extra labor (far less than we would have bid the work at) was for lowering the entire ceiling which was approx. 400 sq ft."

Sonshine Home Services simply put is an amazing company. From the initial quote to the final cleanup of the work space, John is the pinnacle of what working with a contractor should be. He is attentive, hard working, punctual, clean, honest, and experienced. John rebuilt three stair cases for me, the finished product is nothing short of wonderful. John took an admittedly extremely complicated job, made it look easy, and for a first time in my entire life came in under budget. I have already handed his card out to two friends, and have suggested him to 5 other home owners i know in the area. If you ever have the chance to work with John I would book his earliest appointment. From now on he will always have the first right of refusal of any project I am doing at my home. There is not one negative thing I can say about John, and I really hope that you will hire him for your next project just to see how great he is. He may be booked up, but trust me if you can, the wait is well worth it.

We have used John before and we recently did an entire basement remodel that included all new drywalls, ceiling crown molding, laundry room and moving plumbing for washer and dryer and sink, and wood flooring, stairs etc. Just wonderful. We wouldn't use anyone else. Reliability, honest, hardworking and absolutely professional and exceptionally considerate and clean up was meticulous. What a pleasure to do business with John & Jon. They gutted our basement bathroom & were able to do all aspects of the work-new drywall, tile, plumbing, installing toilet, painting, etc. Responded to all emails in a timely manner. Would definitely recommend this contractor because of quality of work, price & work ethics.

Very happy with the results and the whole process. John is very responsive and detailed in his email communication. They showed up as planned every day and the project moved along steadily. The final results look very nice. It included drywalling/finishing a new addition as well as the existing kitchen and blending it all in so it was a seamless transition. I feel like I got a great value for the money.

I was very pleased with Sonshine's work! I'm a RE/MAX agent and we had a home sale that was held up because drywall repairs were suddenly required. Sonshine was able to step in to fix their drywall in time for the scheduled closing. I would reccomend Sonshine to anybody.

Job took longer than first quoted. At end of project got in a hurry and left a large mess. Not a good drywall contractor.

"This job was rather challenging as the homeowner's father, a retired drywall man, was also working on the drywall project and we had to work around him. We felt we went over and above cleaning up our messes and his, too. The long commute to the job from Denver, often complicated by traffic, shortened our working days and made the job take longer for which we apologized."

Our Pergola (open deck covering) built by Sonshine Home Services is beautiful, built exactly as agreed upon, within the estimated budget and very timely. The project was completed in approx. 1.5 days, with a few hours on a previous day as they had to wait for the cement supports to setup. I would recommend this builder for any project, and would gladly hire them again.

Overall I was pretty happy. There were things I would have done differently but I didn't have the time to do it so you have to go with it. There were a couple of things I assumed would happen and they didn't. That was my fault for not communicating better.
