The S&J owner reviewed the situation with me. He told me that even if the heating unit was the problem (although he doubted it for a 9-year old furnace), the furnace could be repaired and the heating unit had a 20-year warranty, which he had his staff verify. He gave me a much better price on a replacement with an Angie's List discount and indicated the current rebate from our power company -- thus, the price was about 1/2 the previous quote. He wanted his technician to check the furnace to determine what was wrong and calculate the repair cost. Today, the technician checked the furnace. After the furnace did not initially ignite, he made one simple adjustment and it worked perfectly. He said there was no problem with the heating unit, the flame was perfect and no further repairs were needed. I am very impressed with S&J. I immediately removed the sticker from the other company and placed the S&J sticker on my furnace, and will use S&J for all future heating and cooling needs.

Upon arrival I told the tech 'Josh' that I thought the motor was making a odd sound and that I feared it might break. That was the initial reason i called you guys to come out in the first place - to look at the motor, and to do a annual checkup as well. I just bought the house and was being proactive. everything was not ok as the motor failed a week later -as I feared it would. The motor was making the same odd sound a the time of your visit, and the tech Josh even acknowledged that it was making was an odd sound after 3 min of running the unit. At that juncture I fully expected a professional business to inspect the motor even further and or offer to replace the motor for me at a fair rate. But the tech said everything was in operating order on his final write up and assured me things were ok..he said and quot; well, anything can break at any timeand quot;... Yeah, sure things were running at that time - but not at 100% as the motor sound was still evident to both the tech and myself as he left the site. So I've been sitting in +90 degree heat for the last 3 days because of this situation. I already have a motor on order and I am getting it replaced tomorrow with another more reputable business. I feel like I paid $99 just for a filter to be replaced and to have a tech take a few readings and give me an incorrect assessment of needed repairs. TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY. Unprofessional and quot;needed repairand quot; analysis in my opinion. Don't even bother typing a response as: 1. I know will never get my money back 2. I will never use you guys againThumbs down all the way.

The technician was on time, reinforced my diagnosis of the proble (a bad blower fan motor), had the replacement motor on his truck. He was very professional and personable. All in all the work took just under an hour. I'd definitely call Johnson and Sanders, Inc for HVAC issues in the future. Unlike previous companies I've had look at my furnace/AC, the technician did not try to sell me a whole new system nor try to tell me other stuff was wrong with my system. A great experience.

I called another company first. They informed me I would need to replace a valve for $800. I called Sanders and Johnson for a second opinion, Don was very patient while explaining the operation and pressures required. He did not discount the need for a new valve but said it was not necessary until the AC starts icing up.

End result was excellent. I was very impressed to see the daily progress by the installers (Gary, Josh and Tim). From day one, when Jim (owner) came out to give me a bid, he was very thorough in his notes and drawings of the home. All ventilation was installed in the basement that has low ceilings - to maximize space, Jim listened to my concerns and designed a layout with this in mind, going between floor joists whenever possible. On the day of starting install, it was evident the Company spent quality time planning as upon arrival they started unloading all sheet metal and getting right to it. The installers seemed like they couldn't be bothered upon first meeting, however, by the end of the week (job was 5 days in length), they were very friendly. Jim and the guys put me at ease by going through the plan for air duct placement and returns before beginning, as well as making modifications. Jim was also very responsive and answered any questions I had before and throughout the process, as well as informing me of things. At the end of the install, Gary did a great job of walking me through what was done, issues they had come across, how to maintain the systems, answering any questions, and he and his crew left the basement clean as found.

Everything went very well. Showed several different types of furnaces with pro and cons on all. Very professional and didn't feel pressured to buy. Had 3 estimates and this was the most reasonable. Installation was smooth and workers were fine.

We've used Sanders and Johnson for both our AC and our Furnace.  We called and scheduled an appt. for the next day to have the owner, Jim to come out and give us a free estimate on replacing our 21 year old furnace.  He was extremely knowledgeable and helpful and gave us a bid on 3 different types of furnaces.  Another bonus that was great for us was that they offer 12 months same as cash financing.  We made our choice and was able to schedule them to come out a couple days later.  The two gentleman that came out to install the furnace were great, extremely professional, and had the job done in about 5 hours.

I called to request service on the furnace. When the technician arrived, I mentioned that an energy audit had shown that there was excess CO emission on startup. He acted annoyed, and said that he didn't carry the $2,800 piece of equipment to check that, that I should have told the office. Had they asked if we were having problems, I would have mentioned it, but I mistakenly thought that checking CO emissions was part of a furnace check.

I had him continue with a routine check on the rest of the unit. He told me he couldn't check the gas pressure going into the furnace because the valve was stuck and needed to be replaced. I asked him to get an estimate, and he said he would, but never did. He complained about the fact it was a 2 stage furnace and had been rewired to be single stage. He acted like that could be a problem. I have since found out from another reliable HVAC contractor it is not. Finally, he said something to the effect and quot;this is a Trane, and I'm not really that familiar with Traneand quot;. I found this very odd for a contractor that has been in business as long as this company, that their employees wouldn't be and quot;familiarand quot; with a common brand of furnace.

This company was recommended by a neighbor in good faith, who had used them for installing a furnace. Maybe that's their forte. I was very disappointed with the amount of effort and expertise for a $122 fee.
