Harold utterly destroyed the sheetrock surrounding the valves--will cost at least another $200 to repair and repaint it. Granted, the sheetrock needed to be removed for access, but the job could have been done more carefully so that repairs need not be so extensive.
By far the most unprofessional aspect of the job was that Harold did not have parts on hand and needed to drive 45 minutes or so to purchase them from Home Depot (at my expense). Said I had a special kind of problem. Bu*ll*&%%it. I told Jeff the house was built 1945, needs two new shutoff valves---it is hard to get more generic than this. You have a van (with no markings, by the way)--and you can't fill it up with some standard valves and plastic pipe and unions? Are you kidding me? Very unsatisfactory. I will take my business elsewhere in future, or just do it myself.
