They are on an Angie's List and had about 190 reviews. They are wonderful and I expected the last job to cost more than it did. The technician came out earlier than he said he would; which was fabulous because I had to come from the other side of town. He diagnosed the problem very quickly, explained what went on and told me all about how it worked and why the seal broke. He was very informative and could have sold me a lot bigger thing but he did not. He told me the new part he was putting in would last a long time. He was really knowledgeable and used to have a plumbing business. He started working in the business with his father and had his own company for 12 years so he knew what to do. I have used them for over 30 years.

they did exactly as promised and I was confident it was done correctly. However, when I asked about other services, they quoted prices well above others I'd received, and they claimed other plumbing services did not guarantee their work and could not be 'trusted' to do it as well. I found this not to be true as I did hire another plumber to install new toilets eventually.

He called to tell us he was on his way and arroved promptly. He was polite and professional at all times. He asked before he did things and he was careful not to drag any dirt or mess into the house. He needed to order a different part then he had with him. He asked if it was ok for hom to have the part brought out or if we wanted him to come back later. He thanked us for our business and made sure we were completely satisfied before he left.

Yikes! Don't use them for drain clearing, call 99 rooter instead. Applewood came out and gave me a $300 quote for a $100 cleaning. I tried to negotiate the price and they said they have set prices for everything. Don't waste your time. Oh yeah I also had to pay a $30 estimate fee, give me a break!

Woke up to no hot water and a leak in my water heater. Called around and decided to use Applewood. They were very responsive and quick to schedule an appointment. The technician was great (Mark Reeves). However, the prices quoted to replace a basic 50 gallon, natural gas fired water heater were out in left field. The rock bottom basic model installed was $3,000, while the slightly upgraded version was $4,600. Thankfully, I compared prices and found a similar style heater, with installation (including replacement of water ball valves, replacement of gas shut-off valve, and installation of drain pan) for ~$1,600.

They called ahead to confirm the appointment. The plumber arrived on time and he had all the tools and parts that he needed to fix the job. He was very efficient and did an excellent job on the repair.

Came out on a Sunday and were very good, but a little pricey. The chargemaster book did not allow any discount for two jobs being done.

Plumber arrived on time, and began draining my heater. After a few minutes it was completed. He also checked the pressure on my heater and told me it was on the high side. I asked about turning off my heater when I am away and he suggested I do that or lower the setting on my heater to low because I was hesitant about turning it completely off.

Quick, clean, and great price

Applewood set up the appointment at my convenience, called ahead and sent an email with a photo of the technician that would be coming to my home. The technician (Abe) also called a few minutes prior to his arrival. Abe was terrific....prompt, friendly, professional, efficient. He offered me advice about my individual unit; and also pointed out a problem that my HOA needed to address. They came the next day and were grateful for the heads up on a pressure problem. I will definitely call Applewood again.

The service man came to check out the water heat to see if it was functioning correctly. He gave us some clear options and estimates for replacement in writing if and when we choose to do so.

The company way overcharged for a service and part which was authorized by our representative on a rental house while we were gone. A call when I got back resulted in the manager lowering the price in half to what may be considered ballpark, although I still am not sure. They calculate flat rates for service and parts, saying it includes labor and the part. I would prefer knowing hourly rates and actual prices for the parts used.

Tech arrived on time. Obviously on commission. Attempted to sell us a bunch of services for outrageous pricing that 2 subsequent companies said we did not need (including saying our main was blocked.) Quoted a price for a PRV valve over $1000. Had it done by a master plumber with another company for $250.

Applewood Plumbing Heating & Electric is very expensive for what they do. They charged about $1,100 for a similar job that another company charged about $150 to do. I didn't like their attitude. As I recall, the reason we called was somewhat of an emergency. It was an expensive charge just to have them come out and look at it. They fixed it, and it took them less than hour to do so, and it still cost that much.

It went very well and the service person explained in detail the condition of my water heater.

They were a little bit priced higher and profit-oriented. And, I would only use them in the future if it's a dire emergency.

The plumber was very knowledgeable and explained all of the the work that needed to be done and even told me about additional work that would need to be done in the future. I decided to purchase a new garbage disposal from Applewood because of the lifetime guarantee even though it was very expensive! They do good quality work.

Overall it went very well. It took maybe 45 minutes from start to finish. I would reccommend Applewood to others as they were patient when I kept having to reschedule my appointment. They called before they arrived and also sent a picture of the person who would be coming so as to identify them.

Feel the money I spent was wasted as well as the time I spent to meet the technician at the condo but don't know that it was the companies fault. I don't know if hot water heaters that can't be flushed are common.

They were very prompt to respond to the request to schedule the work as well as to perform the work. Work was performed as advertised.

As described above, outstanding professionalism, responsiveness, excellent work with attention-to-detail clean-up following the work. Only downside was: they were, by far, the highest price quote (and outlay) we recieved.

Terrible. Actually it ddin't go at all... We've used Applewood previously to repair simple plumbing issues, and have always been pleased with the expertise, courteousness of the service folks. However, today - called them at 6:00 am for a same day appointment - the dispatcher gave me 3 options for time window 10-12, 12-2 or 2-4. I opted for 2 to 4 to minimize the impact to my day, and about 6.5 hours later i receive a call from the dispatcher - indicating that they would need to reschedule my appt for the next day, Saturday. After letting them know that i needed this fix done today, and that I'd be willing to take an appt later or would be around so that they could get to me whenever the scheduling issues resolved themselves, they indicated they could no longer promise or confirm an appt for today. For this issue - they've lost my business to a competitor. Not sure how long this bad taste will stick with me, but i'm sure the next time I'll thnk twice about calling Applewood. ***UPDATED*** - My previous experience occurred on a Friday, it's now the following Monday and I'm updating this review - The Applewood Service manager called me today to follow up based upon the publication of my review. She apologized and explained that there was a miscommunication, in that they were not actually short of resources on Friday, but that a previous job was running long. She explained that the dispatcher who contacted me should have communicated that they would have been able to get to me on Friday, but might be running late. She apologized for the poor customer experience and offered a complimentary membership for a year, to attempt to make up for the issues on Friday. I will say the call, and apology were unexpected and a pleasant surprise. I do appreciate their efforts to own up to the issue and to make it right. I can't 'change' my rating of Friday's experience as that was pretty bad, but their efforts to take responsibility is a sign of a professional organization. I will consider them again, and give them one more chance when the need arises.
