We hired Marco to convert our garage, it started off well but part of our flooring that he installed had to be replaced and we still have not received our window, now he wont contact me back since we paid him, so we do not have a window or part of our flooring that we have paid for, once he got paid he did not finish the work.

When we hired Marco to finish our basement we were torn between him and another contractor. His selling points were that his higher expense reflected his quality, included all materials, and he would be done in a month. He was polite and friendly, and we trusted him to take care of the project. This is the biggest and most expensive renovation we will ever do so we were reassured by his 5 star reviews and finding him via Angi. We now assume the 5 stars were jobs done by Marco personally and/or had no one living on location. His workers would leave without a word, sometimes with the door to the outside still open while our A/C ran. The quality was mixed. Cheap materials were used and it is easy to tell the difference between the things done by experienced vs. inexperienced workers. There are lots of gaps in the click lock flooring. The new office door would not hang or close. There is an enormous gap between the wall and floor in the bedroom closet. The walls and floor are not level. The trim is a mixed bag and was not finished in one of the rooms, which we were told at the end was not included in the estimate. These are just some of the complaints we have. There were many miscommunications. We did not hold him to account and that is on us. Two new walls were not placed where we wanted them, and no insulation was put in the walls, but it felt too late to say anything once we realized. We pointed out other things on occasion that concerned us and were reassured that they would be taken care of before it was done. Some were and some were not. We were told multiple times there would be a walk-through with Marco at the end to address these, but there was not. There was miscommunication about the lighting. When brought up with the electricians they took care of it and we are happy with the result. The lighting miscommunication speaks to Marco not thinking of himself as a general contractor. We hired him to be the go-between for us and the subs, but he expected us to take care of that ourselves leading to a lot of confusion. The walls being in the wrong place meant a piano could not be moved back to the room it belonged in without hiring movers to turn it on its side. In order to stay on schedule we paid extra for this weekend move. The flooring material turned out not to be included in the estimate, but this might have been a miscommunication when we changed the scope of the project without requiring a new written estimate. We told him not to bring someone to clean because the furniture had to be moved in and out of the rooms to finish flooring and was in the way, but they brought along someone anyway. She waited by her car the last day with nothing to do. Left over lumber sat outside for the duration of the project. Marco originally said it would be returned to the store and refunded to us, but when we asked at the end he said to keep it as the seller was not taking returns. A friend stored it for us, but we have no clue what to do with it. He offered to take off $200 for schedule inconveniences but we were ready to pay what we owed and already had the check. He insisted on giving us a $100 bill he had on him. This was on the last day so he saw the quality of the final product. It was fairly obvious throughout the project that we were not a priority and we figured it was because, for a company that usually builds whole houses, our basement was not a big deal. For us, though, it was a huge project we would hoped would be handled with care. We have hired Pursuit of Excellence to redo some of the work. We appreciate Marco letting us use the roll off to get rid of unrelated junk. The things he worked on personally look great and the flooring salesman and electricians were helpful. We are thankful to have the work done and wish we could write a glowing review. It is our hope that this review encourages anyone who chooses to work with this company to put an emphas...

Marco is polite and works hard to overcome obstacles such as supply chain shortages. He also helped us towards meeting a tight deadline.

Three main things about Marco. He does what he promises, does it on schedule, and does quality work. Could not recommend him any higher. Subcontractors were there when promised despite high demand and were well qualified for the job. Price was in line with original quote and/or additional work or specifications were properly discussed so there were no surprises. Very upfront with everything he did. Satisfied customer
