Allyson Buck was a pleasure to work with, and has great design sensibilities. She’s professional. And a plus is that she’s also a genuinely nice person. We really liked working with her. And we really appreciated that she was very willing to work within our desired style (transitional), and within our color palette, which tends to be quite neutral. With her help, we broke out of our “everything has to be white” mold. Her color suggestions were always spot-on, and she never tried to push any colors or design choices on us that were outside that aesthetic.



Allyson helped us find a general contractor and a cabinet supplier. In addition to design services, Interilife also supplied: flooring, wall tile, counter tops, paint, and grout.



Allyson worked with us through the whole project to make sure that everything turned out just like we wanted it.



She came up with a great design for a custom bathroom vanity that was a bit out of the ordinary due to the wall configuration in a very small bathroom. It provides much needed storage and looks beautiful! And the tile wainscoting in that bath is gorgeous – another one of her ideas. It looks wonderful, and hides major imperfections in our old, cracked plaster walls.



We didn’t do any major structural renovations, such as tearing out or moving walls, but Allyson did suggest that we consider removing a closet to expand our master bathroom. We decided against that (since we have an old house and limited closet space), but her suggestion led us to the idea of using part of the closet for a large wall niche in the bathroom, which has vastly improved the storage in the bathroom. She also improved on the overall design of the niche, and it looks great!



Although we used Plush Designs to supply our cabinetry, Allyson was very helpful with planning the kitchen cabinets. We went with her advice on the color choice for the wood, and she had valuable input on the overall look of our shaker-style cabinetry (slab v. 5-piece drawers) and hardware.



Her overall goal was to keep the design choices we made consistent throughout the project, and I think she achieved that.



I’m sure we drove her crazy with all of our questions, and the length of time it took us to make all of the many, many decisions involved, but she never let on if it did.



I would highly recommend Interilife for design input and eco-friendly building choices. Even if you only need to paint a room, she will help you pick just the right color.

Sarah and Allyson are great. I cannot pick colors to save my life, but both of them really have the skill. They helped me choose the right "hardwood" flooring and tile, had it ordered and in the store in less than a week, and were just very helpful thoughout the process. The store is mainly focused on "green" building choices -- low VOC urethane-equivalent products for finishing floors, bamboo flooring of course, environmentally friendly paint, etc. I'm not really a "greenie" but thier prices were good, and the ladies were skillful, providing a service you just aren't going to get at the big box stores and warehouses.
