They're great. They've been my mechanics for 20 years. They do all of our cars. I use my car for business. I took it in the morning and they gave me a loaner car. I came back in the afternoon. It's the thing they do for us. The quality was excellent.

The vehicle was left the evening before the job was to be completed (on the 24th of July). At home, I marked the front tire valve stems with "painters tape" to insure that the tires were rotated during the job (Note: if the tires are not marked in some way, there is no way for the customer to confirm if the tires really were rotated). I left a note with the front desk and also left a copy on the seat of the Mini again requesting the brake job and to rotate the tires. These notes should have eliminated any confusion. At 2 PM on the 24th, I called the shop to ask the status. Was told it would be ready at 4PM. I arrived at 4:30 and immediately noted that the tires were NOT rotated as the "painters tape" were still on the front tires. I waited approximately 30 minutes for the car to be completed from being washed. Upon review of the bill, I noticed a a listing of "Front Disc" x 2. (2 Front Rotors?) I assumed that the mechanic was able to save the rear rotors as under the description of labor, it was noted that the FRONT and rear rotors were re-surfaced. In my mind, I questioned re-surfacing of brand new rotors, but did not question the notation as I also saw that there was no mention of rotating the tires. I did ask the woman at the front desk if the tires were rotated. She then asked (a manager?), Mike if the tires were rotated. He said that no, it was forgotten and then apologized. The woman at the desk stated "she would yell at Steve". I told her that really would not solve the problem (and felt like it was an uprofessional comment by her). During the drive home, I noted that the brake pedal was very "mushy" and "spongy". As I had worked in the auto industry for 10 years prior to my Military career, I recognized this symptom as being air in the brake lines. When I returned home, I was in the process of writing Steve, the Manager I originally made the appointment with, to see about a return appointment regarding the brake pedal when I received a telephone call from Mike. Mike stated "that he talked to Steve and that my tires WERE rotated, but that it was not listed on the invoice". At that time I told Mike "to please not lie to me as I had MARKED my tires and knew that they were NOT rotated" (again this is a good scam that customers would be victim to, if they did not mark their tires in some way). I did state to Mike "that the brake pedal was "spongy" and it felt like air was in the lines". I requested a follow-up appointment to address this issue. On 29 July I arrived at 7:30 AM with 1 dozen donuts for the staff in a act of good will. I met the manager, Steve and he said that "he would evaluate the brake pedal, bleed the lines if needed and rotate the tires". Steve at no time mentioned that I owed any additional money on my bill (which would have been the professional thing to do as a MANAGER). At this time, I waited for the car in the shop waiting room.. At 9:30, the car was returned (as a note, 2 hours seemed quite a long for a bleeding of the brakes and rotation of tires as the shop was not overly busy, and I DID have an appointment (again, I have auto industry experience). Anyway, I went to the front desk to pick up my original receipt and was told by the woman that " I needed to wait as my bill was not complete". I asked what the problem was and she said "I had to pay for some rotors". I pointed out the "2 Front Disc" listed on my bill and stated "THAT is payment for the rotors". She said "I don't know about cars" and then asked for Mike to come to the desk. Mike stated that "yes, the disc listed was rotors, but I needed to pay for the rear rotors as well". I asked to be shown on the bill where was it stated that 4 rotors was replaced and why was it listed that Front and rear rotors were re-surfaced? He stammered and stated "I don't know what was written on the bill". I again asked, "why would you re-surface 4 BRAND NEW rotors fresh from the box?" He really could not provide an answer. I paid the additional $150 for the rear rotors and told Mike "that your shop is completely incompetent and that I would be providing a review on Angie's List". It was "interesting" to note that during this confrontation, Steve was no where to be seen. Botom Line: I do not have a problem with paying for 4 rotors (if needed), although I do have a problem with Mini Cooper engineering. These rotors only lasted 50,000 mile with no "metal on metal" brake pad damage. I previosuly owned a Honda Accord with over 275,000 miles and the rotors where NEVER replaced. However, I DO have a problem with the invoice from Import Auto Technicians that is not accurate in either the listing of parts or description of labor performed. Additionally, I have a problem with a "manager" that would call me at home and lie to me that "yes, your tires were rotated, but we did not list it on the invoice". Again, if I did not mark my tires, I would be under the false impression that this service was completed. Finally, I will NEVER return to Import Auto Technicians for any service and STRONGLY recommend against anyone considering this place of busines. Thank you for the opportunity to provide this review. Please note that I have no interest in hearing from Import Auto Technicians regarding this matter. For me, this chapter is now closed. Sincerley, Lawrence G. Breault, DMD,MS
Description of Work: Made an appointment via e-mail with Steve, a Manager, for complete Brake Job on my 2009 Mini Cooper 2 months before the actual apppointment (24 July 2015). The job was to replace front and rear disc pads, replace brake pad sensors and rotate the tires. I requested that the rotors be resurfaced and re-used as there was still brake pad material left and the rotors were not damaged.

They were very quick to tell me that the service repair would only take about an hour and gave me the option of waiting in their lounge area while they worked on the car. It actually only took about 45 minutes. Car brake lights have been working perfectly since the repair. This car shop is definitely the only place I will take my car for any type of repairs. They are courteous, friendly and very professional. I feel like a member of their family every time I go in.
Description of Work: Repaired the circuit board for brake lights on my Volvo. They had tried to replace the part 2 separate times but neither part worked so they decided to repair the one that was in the car as they discovered the part was no longer available. I was never charged for the two times they tried to install the new parts.

My car wasn't ready at the time they promised. In fact it took them an extra day and a half to get it fixed. I was told it was due to the parts not coming in but when I received a quote I was told that the parts truck comes 3 times a day. I was told that the price would be a lot less but when I went to pick up my car I was shocked that it was over four hundred dollars more! Lauren at the front desk was rude. I felt that she was inconvenienced that I was questioning her about why the bill was higher then it was. Also when I got my car back there was oil stains on my carpet and a scratch on my passenger side door that wasn't there before. I decided I wasn't going to go back in and ask why they didn't use protective measures with a customers car. I will never go back here again.

Brought the car to Import because a friend recommended it to me. When we arrived the lady in the front office naked Lauren was very very rude. She acted like we ruined her day by asking her questions. Lauren knew nothing about cars. She claimed that she was just the office manager. So I asked to speak with someone else. She said that would be Steve. I asked when Steve would be back and she told us that he should be back any minute. She sat back down at her desk put her headphones in and started to text message while we just stood there. Steve comes back with food. Without saying anything to us he gives the food to Lauren and starts to eat himself. After a few bites Lauren says oh yeah they have questions for you Steve. They had the mechanic look at my car and Steve later called us about the work that needed to be done. I agreed and he quoted me a price of 2500. They had my car for almost a week Steve wouldn't return my phone calls. I eventually got a ride there and my car was sitting out side unlocked and with the windows down, I was about to pay when he said we owed 1000 more then he quoted. He said the tires we wanted were on backorder so he got the only other ones he could find. What a thief and a liar. SHAME ON STEVE AND LAUREN I just got back from Afghanistan and this is how I am treated.

On a Friday afternoon at about 5pm, my 10 year old van suddenly made a horrendous noise, spewed smoke, and began to smell like burnt rubber. Import Auto was able to take it and gave us a loaner car to use for the weekend. On Monday, they assessed the problem early in the morning. (Which was that the compressor on the AC seized and caused the belt to snap. This caused problems with the alternator as well.) While the repair was expensive, I have no idea how the price would compare to competitors. However, since the dealer in town is awful, there is no way we would have gone there. They were able to do it in one day and return the van to us Monday evening. In addition they washed, vacuumed, and cleaned it for us. This is the second time we've taken a vehicle there and were very pleased both times.

Worst experience ever. Dishonest and criminal like. Steve and Lauren in the office were nothing but untruthful and sneaky .Took my mothers car in for some odd symptoms that we were having. We have a 2013 Mini Cooper S still under factory warranty. We were having problems with the airbag system. After telling Steve and Lauren that I would call the dealer in Denver they called my 72 year old mother and told her they would not give her the car back until the air bags were fixed. This is something that was covered under the warranty. Now come to find out they didn't do a few other things that we paid for. Bad and dishonest service. Going to follow up with the BBB.

Import Auto checked everything out and discovered that the car's computer had gone. They gave me an estimate on the repair cost, but said my computer should still be under warrenty at the dealership. They called the dealership and found out that the computer unit had a recall. The owner called me and recommended that I had it towed to the dealership. I think that if it had been a different repair shop they would not have gone through the effort of looking for a warranty or recall. I could have been stuck with a big bill. Import Auto went through a lot of trouble to find the problem and check for solutions, then only charged me $50 for the labor. I was really impressed at their integrity.
Description of Work: While they have serviced my car several time, this time I had my car towed in because it would stop whenever I stopped at red light or such and would not restart without jumping it off.

Could not have gone better. Took the car out on Monday, 11/18 as my battery had died and I couldn't get it to recharge. They brought me home while they assessed what the problems were. They kept me informed throughout the day as to what they were finding and what they felt like needed to be done for my car to be ready for a long distance trip. They always discussed the costs and made sure that I was approving the repairs. When the repair work was finished, they came to the house and picked me up. When I was driving my car home, I felt like I was driving in a new car. I drove to Tulsa, OK that weekend and the car performed beautifully both going and coming back. They did an amazing job! I will not take my car to anyone else for any type of work whatsoever!
Description of Work: Performed Road test; replaced battery; replaced lower control arm assemblies, front struts and mounts, inner boot; did four wheel laser alignment, adjusted front and rear camber, caster and toe settings. Set everything to factory specifications Checked fluids, belts and hoses, air conditioning and cooling system, brake and exhaust systems, starting and charging systems, oil and filter change, tires rotated and balanced.

Import Auto did an outstanding job with the tune-up/LOF on our Toyota 4-Runner. They're thorough, courteous, professional, and detail oriented. They guarantee their work and they always look the vehicle over to make sure all systems are working properly. I have been bringing our vehicles to Import for over 10 years and I've been very satisfied with the work and this latest servicing was no different. I was shuttled to and from work. I was called and informed of the status of the servicing. The staff was very personable and friendly. I have not had any issues with the vehicle since the servicing. As an additional note, I have over 260K miles on the 4-Runner and it still runs great thanks to the work done by Import Auto. I highly recommend.

Our car is older (2001 VW), and we thought long and hard about putting so much money in the car. But, decided to spend the money, rather than buying a new car. They did the engine work as explained above, and it has seemed to fix the oil leak. However, now we smell an exhaust smell, which we never had before the work was done. So, at this point, we have spent $2500. Also, within 6 hours of getting the car back from the shop, the Anti lock brake system module stopped working. Never had problems with it prior to this visit with them. Went back twice, and they tried to "reset" it. The manager thought maybe it just needed to be reset after they worked on it (at this point, he actually implied to me that it might have indeed had something to do with them working on the car). When the indicator lights went on again, saying that the ABS system wasn't working, we took it back a THIRD time. The manager called and said that the part and labor would be $900. This was very distressing, because it seemed odd that this problem started after they worked on the car, but he insisted that it wasn't related. I asked about a used part instead, and he said that he would look for one for us. Over the next two weeks, we had to call 4 different times to check on the status of the used part search. They never called us -- we always had to call them. Finally, they said they'd located one ( on our 4th call), and it would be approx $700. At this point, we decided to compare prices at other places. The first one we called gave us a price on a new module, at between $600-$700. That shop mentioned that used modules are very tricky, and often don't program right. This was never explained by IAT. I called IAT back, and when I asked more questions, they then told me that the $700 repair (using the used part) would only be warranteed for one month! They failed to mention that ever before, even while we waited two weeks for them to locate a used part. So, obviously we decided not to have IAT do that work, as they were more expensive, and we didn't feel that they'd been totally upfront with us about this whole deal. Also, we still feel that this second needed repair was somehow related to the first repair that they did. We were very pleased with the other shop that eventually did the repair. We don't feel very trusting of IAT now, and won't recommend them. Still are dealing with the exhaust smell, too -- have to figure out why that happened after the first repair.
Description of Work: 80K check, replace timing belt. Did other engine work to repair a small oil leak. Planned to have the ABS module replaced, but decided to have someone else repair that.
