First off let me start with I am a military veteran, a father, and sole provider in my home. I work hard and I don't have a lot of time to spend on social networking or complaining online in general. I believe in moving forward and finding solutions over complaining. This review is after months and months of back and forth and second chances working with Progressive Energy Solutions. The only reliable and motivated customer service I ever received from Progressive Energy Solutions was during the time of the sale. They sold me on a $30,000.00 solar system that after "Hero" financing will cost me upward to $40,000.00 plus. This is a lot of money for a working man out of the military but I went into the deal cautiously and as informed as possible being just me. What I did not count on was the complete lack of customer service and support following the transaction. Once they got their money they were gone and no where to be found. Their office still existed so it's safe to assume they were still taking money from other people and businesses but I was left in the dark. Example 1: I received absolutely zero information on the operation or tracking capabilities of my system. So I had to call and email for the basic questions a normal person want's to know such as "is this $40,000.00 thing even working?" they responded to me with "Yes" don't worry we track it for you. This was a lie. Example two: for attention to detail during installation; a few months following my installation a piece from my system fell from my roof. The piece appeared to be a box cover stating "high voltage" on it. With it being in the middle of a rainy season and me having only one house, I immediately call Progressive to report what had just happened. Well nobody answered my calls because it was a weekend. I had to call the sales department in order to get re-routed to a service rep because the sales department was the only department answering (go figure). Finally the breaking point, after 12 months into my purchase I notice I wasn't getting my monthly emails reporting the energy being produced by my solar system. I'm no detective but this triggers a red flag to me that something is wrong. I contact Progressive Energy Solutions and I am re-assured everything is fine they are tracking it, the advised me that it's probably just an issue with my internet connection. Keep in mind this system has no red or green or blinking lights like a normal electrical device you may think of that obviously tells you if it's on or off. As the next month comes, I get another email stating my system is still not reporting any energy production, so I call Progressive again and I am told somebody would come out and take a look. Nobody ever shows up and I call back again to be told "sorry we are really busy but somebody will be calling you back soon". Nobody calls back and I call back again, this time I'm told again it's just the modem, your system is fine, just reset your modem and it will start reporting all the savings your getting right now. So I restart my Modem and sit back to let the savings roll baby (sarcasm). There was no savings, I get another email the next month saying the exact same thing. At this point, the person who originally sold me the system (the sales rep) is completely gone and moved on with his life, the original person I was emailing is gone, and I have a new person to talk too.. So I start explaining what was my concern and how I feel something is wrong and asking somebody to please just come take a look. This begins the same process over again regarding my internet connection. As I am now currently approaching my two year mark with my solar system I receive my yearly NET metering bill (which is a bill that Edison keeps for you until the end of the year that covers your energy production and consumption throughout that year). During my first 12 months I received a credit at the end of the year (Only good news in this review) but as of 11/21/2017 which is today and why I am writing this for the public. I received a bill for over $2,800.00 from Edison and I needed to pay it in 4 weeks!! I thought something must be wrong, this can't be right. I called Edison and Edison told me that my solar system from Progressive Energy Solutions had not been producing any energy for a period of nearly 9 months and that Edison had been the sole provider of my electricity during that time. This means I had a $40,000.00 pile of junk on my roof that served absolutely no purpose. This also means that over the past months when I felt something was wrong and continued to ask for help and was continually being told it was my internet connection was a load of you know what. I thought solar was a good thing and I'm sure it if you choose the right company, I did NOT. Although I initially liked the Progressive Energy Solutions personal perception, I was deceived and wrong. I learned the hard way about Progressive Energy Solutions and although I don't think it would be fair to blame or focus the failures all on one person or incident. It was a complete failure of the organization from sales, service, and follow-up. I feel embarrassed of my purchase, regretful of my lack of knowledge, and also now financially in debt because I chose this contractor. Don't be me, learn from others, read reviews, ask questions, and if you think something is wrong follow your gut and get third party professional help. Best of luck on your purchases. Additionally, if you go to their website, it shows a review form a home in my area, where my house is but it's not my home and my neighbor does not have solar, so this is more then likely fake and illegal marketing as well. Don't fall for fake reviews and their website.
