ADI Electrical

ADI offered a deal through Angie's list for 2 hours of work. I used it to install dimmers throughout my house. ADI didn't get it right at first, but they came back and fixed the problem. The contractors were pleasant, professional, and did not rush the work. They asked for feedback and worked with me to get the project right. I would hire them again, though would try to avoid as much as possible purchasing any parts through ADI, as their markup is incredibly high. More detail: Installing the dimmers was a bit challenging since I had recessed LED lighting already installed by previous owner and didn't know exact specs. The dimmers I bought at Home Depot didn't work. ADI provided dimmers they said were LED compatible and installed them at a premium price ($80 for each dimmer; they retail at about $20). I was fine with the markup for the convenience and peace of mind--but then the dimmers didn't work! They were buzzing and flickering--and when I looked up the model number, I realized the dimmers were for incandescent only, not LED as represented. I called and complained--upset that I was charged such a high price for dimmers that didn't work. To their credit, ADI returned (after a several-weeks-delay during holiday season) and reinstalled dimmers that were low-voltage LED specific. They were not defensive, and clearly cared about making sure that the project was done right. Now the dimmers work very well. Although the dimmers ended up being much more expensive than I planned, I think it was worth it to have them done right by professionals, especially since they were willing to return to fix the problem.

The electrician said he could not do it because my wiring was too old and he didn’t want to turn off the breaker and cause a power surges or some kind of damage. This was a Angie’s List package deal so he suggested I get my money back from Angie’s List and I did.

They were excellent. I plan to use them again.

It all went very well. There had to be some additional work besides the panel to bring the house connection up to code. There was an additional charge for that, but it was reasonable. The date of the work had to be changed from its original date because of a supplier problem, but that did not inconvenience us.

Process went well and electricians were professional and friendly - total time to install all four fixtures was within the allotted two hours. Unfortunately, it cost me an unexpected/additional $500 to hang two pendant lights due to the need to convert from recessed lighting connection. As it turns out, it would have cost less had I gone with installation by the lighting vendor; however, due to issues of timing, I proceeded with the installation as time is money and I had already taken the morning off from work.

They made sure we explored everything before 30 days was up and explained the offer alone would not solve my problem. Decided not to spend the 2X more money and got full refund...even Angie's share.

I had the Angie's list deal of $89 for 2 man hours of electrical work. We didn't have the supplies at site so when they got here they quoted us a price of $360 to put the outlet in. I asked if that took into account the labor we already paid for. He said yes. They were already here, my husband said yes do the work. I asked for an itemized invoice when they were done. An email was sent to us just stating $360 for the job charged, no itemization. They took less than an hour to complete the job. They did a great job and were very nice, but beware of upcharging and not getting the angie's list deal. Since there were 2 electricians, and one was doing the outlet, I did have one of them install an indoor switch for me which I already had. Took him 15 minutes while the other one did the outlet. so total cost was $89 plus $360= $449 FYI-also they don't work on low voltage i.e.. nest thermostats.

I didn’t have work done and asked for my $ back and was told that Angie’ List had the $. Recently when I called Angie’s List to have the $ used on another project, as I had another company do the Breaker Box, I was informed that they had paid ADI Electrical and I must contact them for a refund or work. I’m preparing a small claims against both companies for $ 949.00 plus cost.

Although we had never heard of ADI, we bought a discounted service package on Angie's List because of how highly rated they seemed to be. We completely agree with all the kudos they have received. The office staff was lovely to deal with and very professional. The team that came did an excellent job and were very careful with our newly painted walls. They additionally suggested that we install a whole house surge protector which we hadn't been intending to, but made sense given that we have a 1920s home and wiring can be delicate. We were very pleased with every aspect of the service. We have already left word at the office to set an appointment for them to come back in a month to do some additional work for us.

I bought a deal through Angie's List for a light fixture installation. The guy arrived on time, and was nice. However, he declined to install the fixture because my wiring is old. He said they'd re-wire my house, and quoted a price at least $2,000 over standard rate. He said I would receive a refund of the Angie's List deal. I then got at least three voicemails, and numerous other calls from them, trying to sell me the re-wiring. I don't know whether they sold my number, but I'm now getting 3-5 home improvement telemarketing calls a day. I didn't get the refund of the money I had already paid: ADI said to ask Angie's List. Angie's List is refusing to refund my money, even though the only reason I'm asking for a refund is that ADI refused to provide the service I paid for.
