They were wonderful. There were polite and professional, worked quickly and efficiently, and answered questions with ease. My only gripe was they couldn't give me an exact window of time when scheduling the service. They could only give me a call when they were a half hour away.

Although i hope that i do not need to hire Allan again, if something goes wrong with my tub, or if anyone i know needs hot tub repairs i would gladly give him a call or give them his number.

Came out fixed the problem and charged s very fair price. Answered initial call on a Sunday evening and came out 3 days later to give the estimate and do the job They know theirs spas. We would use them agaib

I can’t say enough about Allan/Universal Spa Service. Allan called me back right away when I put my request in through Home Advisor. He let me know that his initial diagnostic trip was free (no trip charge! … I was quoted $195 from another local contractor… just to come look and attempt to determine the issue!). I actually took a while to get back to Allan because of other things I had going on, but when I did- he called me back that same night after a busy day of his own. He was able to come by during a time when I was not available and check things out and make his assessment. The problem was my motor and come to find out, I had a more rare and expensive brand of motor. I told Allan I was willing to pay more for the more expensive motor if it meant just getting it right instead of possibly facing any issues from retrofitting. Allan said he would do what I wanted, but assured me I was just throwing money away and that he could make a much lower cost motor work (so stay with me … he convinced me to pay less… while he worked more- and this call took place on a Sunday since he does have a full workload). On the day of the job, he ran into a few unexpected bumps and had to work about an hour longer than expected to make things work- but never charged me a nickel more. Everything worked out great and I see absolutely no difference in performance between the former motor and the new… the new one works great! Do be patient with Allan/Universal Spas as he does get busy. You may have to wait a few weeks for his schedule to open up, but he’s worth the wait. He’s easy to talk to and takes the time to explain things to ensure you understand what’s going on. He’s in process of ordering me a new cover and also suggested a cover lifter (both at prices equal or less than what I was able to find on the Internet for comparable quality – and his include installation! – Sounds like only a few screws, nuts, and bolts- I know … but I’ve said that before when trying to balance something on one side while leveling it on another…) Subsequently, after all was done with the job I paid him for- I had another question that came up about something completely separate that I thought my hot tub was doing a year ago. I left him a message and asked if he could give a call when time allowed to quell my curiosity …. Phone rang moments later and he again, he was full of free answers. I think he has the right idea on how to retain a customer. I strongly recommend Universal Spa Service.

Had a hot tub moved from one residence to another. The owner was rude to the owners of the hot tub. The owner was told the tub is in a three seasons room before he was to move it. There were supposed to be 4 people to move the tub. There were only 2. The owners of the tub had to help move the tub. When they arrived to deliver the tub he complained and said I did not tell him the tub was in a three seasons room. I did not argue with him. He asked me if I had measured the opening on our deck. I was stunned. I said can't you lift it over the opening? He laughed and said they would need 10 people to do that as the tub weighed 800 lbs. I corrected him and said the specifications stated 565 lbs. Since there were only 2 people lifting it up was not an option. They had to take down our deck post to get the tub through the opening. He also told me the price to move the tub was $350.00. Since he and the other guy had to work harder he requested $450.00. Would not use this company again.

Universal was the only place I contacted that didn't charge to come and look at the issues with our hot tub. The owner gave me an honest assessment and a ballpark based on what he could see. The service man that came out to do the job was very knowledgeable and accurate on the time it may take him. I would recommend this company in a heartbeat. They have a customer for life.

They answered my request for service immediately. They gave a range of times of arrival and called when 30 minutes out. Seemed knowledgeable, courteous, concerned re completeness. Scheduled second appt when parts arrived. They plan to check to see that we have no further problems. We will use them again if needed.

Allen didn't ask for a deposit, tried to save me money by replacing just the pump but ultimately we replaced the control panel too. He even re-wired my GFCI. And then he noticed a small crack in my air control valve and dropped a new one off for me a week later...no charge.

The reason I selected Universal spa is because the gentleman works from home and does not have overhead of a store which tends to bring the price up. He was personable and friendly, told me what he was going to do and did it in a timely manner.

Alan (the owner) was very responsive and actually squeezed me into his schedule the same day I called to diagnose the problem I had with my hot tub. He said he needed to order the part ---when his co-worker (Lee) came to install the part, he realized that something was stuck in the pipe and putting in a whole new motor and pump was not necessary at all. He was honest and saved me over $400 because he did not have to install the new part after all. He could have just done it anyway and charged me anyway....and I wouldn't have known the difference. I appreciated so much their honesty. Also he took the time to answer all my questions and spent time with me to teach me more about the hot tub, as I was a new hot tub owner. Very nice and very reliable. I will be calling only them in the future for any of my spa needs.
