"This Member was great to work for; friendly and concerned about caring for his brand new black truck, which is THE most difficult color to maintain. He was eager to learn how to care for his truck, and that always makes me feel even better about doing a great job for a person who will appreciate my work and advice. I was almost as dismayed as he was when he told me his gardener had scratched his rear door while going from his front yard to the back yard; it was likely the handle of the mower that did it. I had him meet me at my home so I didn't have to drive out to his place again and charge him for it after I'd already soaked him for the Exterior Detail once. Plus, I'm never sure how much success I'll have with a scratch until I can rub a fingernail across it to guage its depth and severity. The scratch was riiiiight on the border of being too deep to get out completely, and it's barely noticeable now unless you know where to look. I simply compounded it by hand, polished it with a hi-speed buffer, finished it with a dual-action, vibrating polisher, then followed it with a little wax applied by hand. It was a piece of cake for an experienced problem solver like me, but a less experienced guy might not have as much success. I really appreciate this Member having us out to detail his truck, and I appreciate the opportunity to fix your scratch...which happens to be one of my FAVORITE things to do, and I particularly appreciate the great review here on [Redacted]. "Mrs. W. is very accurate in the description of her vehicles, and as a fellow Pug owner, I sympathized with her and her dog hair issue; my Wife's car is the same! Pugs are the most fun dogs, but they shed like crazy!! "This Member was really GREAT to work for, and I enjoyed every moment of working on his coach. It is so rewarding to work for someone who appreciates what we do, and listens to, and takes my advice on the upkeep of their vehicle. You're a smart guy, Mr. T. Detailing boats and RVs are my favorite, and I do love to solve problems. This job was a relatively easy one, as the oxidation hadn't gotten too bad yet, and I believe the next time around it'll come out even better. Using a medium duty compound followed by a Carnauba paste wax always leaves behind a few unavoidable minor swirls, and having us back shortly after the wax deteriorates is the best time to follow up with a non-abrasive polish, and then follow it again with the paste wax; that way the swirls are diminished and sometimes even eliminated, and the resulting shine is even better than the first time, and lasts longer. The THIRD time we detail it, it should look almost stunning; virtually swirl-free and shiny as a new dime. It's always best to wash your RV, boat, car, or any other vehicle with a `wash & wax' type soap to keep from stripping the polish and wax away and leaving a dull film behind that hastens the oxidation process. NEVER use dish soap, laundry soap, heavy duty soap to wash any vehicle. If you have a jug of heavy duty soap, please just give it away to someone you don't like. Hahaa!! "This Member is telling severe untruths, and that is putting it mildly; and I will address this fact before I continue. This Member claims to be a business owner, when in fact his Facebook page states that he is a Regional Sales Manager since 2012; I know because I checked, and you can, too: https://www.facebook.com/king.kenton He also claims that he spent "the entire morning" getting his SeaDoos parked and roped off for me...15 minutes, maybe, to park them and set out some cones? My 60-something other reviews here will speak for themselves, and this truth-stretching Member has just made a jackass of himself with this false review, and with an identical false one on YELP.com On the day of our FIRST appointment, Sept. 10, 2015 this Member changed the address of our appointment without notifying me, sending us on a wild goose chase to a different address on a 97 degree day, and parking it out of reach of the water & electrical access, which he KNEW that we needed, and it is against the law to run hose and extension cord across any street in Newport Beach!! I reluctantly suggested a reschedule, and he agreed. On the morning of our SECOND appointment, Sept. 22, 2015 I was taken to the hospital at 5:30 am without cell phone and appointment book. When my wife brought them to me, I was stunned to find a nasty voicemail message from this Member, threatening me with a negative review on YELP if I did not return his call ASAP. He said he would "put me out of business" with bad reviews, and I believe this to be the sole reason he's recently joined Angie's List. Is this the kind of person I would be anxious to work for now?? HELL NO!!! I've always heard there are three sides to every story; his side of the story, my side of the story, and the REAL story. I believe that the readers of the above review and my reply will be able to see the real story. I'm hoping this Member will realize he has made a mistake in writing this erroneous review, and would offer me an apology. "I love people like this member and I am sooo appreciative of her review. :-) Her problem was an easy one for me to solve as I've seen it dozens of times before....and this is why you should always hire a seasoned professional over others who have just started in business, or perhaps have only a few years' experience, and know little about problem solving. I will share with all of Angie's List members what I shared with this member who had raw sewage leaking from a drain pipe, and it is the very same solution for removing water spots from your car. Lime Away, CLR, or Lime Gone from Smart & Final will safely remove or reduce the water spots on your car's paint. Simply spray it on the affected area generously, rub it in with your hand (which should have a rubber glove over it), and let it set for a moment before rinsing it off. If you're happy with the results, then wash the vehicle with soap and water. If the water spots persist, keep using the CLR, Lime Away, or Lime Gone until you are satisfied. ALWAYS do this in the shade, and ALWAYS rinse thoroughly and then wash with soap and water. Have the exterior of your vehicle buffed and waxed if needed afterwards. "Hahaa...this Member's watch and calendar must be running a little funny, because I flipped backwards in my appointment book to find him on Friday September 26th 2014 rather than November 7th. :-) I have to admit that I don't have much memory of this job, as it took us only about two hours or so to Wash/Wax and apply leather & vinyl treatment the interior of a 2014 silver Cadillac CTS, and then just give a simple car wash and vacuum, etc.to a 2005 Dodge Magnum. While I would consider this Member's review a positive one, I am disappointed that we earned more B grades than A's. I can pledge to this Member to try to bring our B's up to an A grade next time. He was friendly, accommodating, and very appreciative of our work, and I am very appreciative of the GREAT review. THANK YOU!!! :-) We did two Exterior Details... an `03 Mini Cooper and a `91 4Runner, and then a simple Wash & Wax on a 2014 Chevy Volt. Being able to detail all three cars at the same time and place saved us a good amount of time, and I was able to apply an $85 discount to the final total, which was actually the cost of the Wash & Wax on the Volt; so if you've got multiple vehicles, it's always a great idea to have us do more than one whenever possible. "I remember this member well, as he was a great guy to work for; in fact, he had us out the first time on Monday, November 4th 2013 to detail his 2002 Grey Lexus is300 Wagon for $200 and he liked us enough to have us back three weeks later on November 25th to detail his 1995 32' RV for $580. That one was a bit of a challenge due to the age of it rather than the size. Those older beasts can get pretty oxidized if you don't keep up after them, and this is why I always stress MAINTENANCE rather than REPAIR. So if you've got a fiberglass boat or RV, it's best to contact me ASAP so I can help you maintain that baby before it gets away from you. If it's already gotten away from you...well, I can still help you as we did for this member. :-) I would like to send a sincere "THANK YOU" to this member for having us out twice, and for taking the time to give us this great review.
