The company failed to follow up with me following a very poor customer service issue.
Description of Work: I contacted 1800Flowers.com to send Thanksgiving arrangements to my brothers family who live half way across the country from me. I placed the order far enough in advance to assure delivery ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday. I'd had good service from 1800Flowers.com in the past, so I'd presumed I'd receive the same prompt, professional service and quality I'd received in the past. Several days after placing my order, I received an email stating that certain flowers were unavailable and to contact customer service to either cancel the order or allow for substitutions. I contacted customer service and a gentleman named "William" discussed the options. I chose to allow several substitutions to be made to the order. William assured me the order would arrive before the holiday. Great, all is good.... or so I thought. Come Monday AFTER the holiday, I receive another email from 1800Flowers.com requesting that I contact them to about my order. Apparently the William mufffed up the order. I was p***** to say the least, but accidents do happen. I contacted customer service to vent and to ask why didn't my order go thru. The rep. was only mildly appologetic and only offered to refund my purchase. Aftere several more emails back and forth, I received a letter from one of the principals from the company appologizing for the error. The letter went on to state that one of their service reps woould contact me personnally to "help make the situation right". I waited and no call or further communications. I then called 1800Flowers.com and was told that they hoped that I'd continue to do business with them. No further appologies or offers to "make the situation right". Pretty cheesy and cheap. If excellent customer service is important to you, Take your Business elsewhere.

It was pretty bad. What I saw on their website and what was actually delivered was vastly different. The 2 balloons were supposed to say over the hill; they did not. The 2 balloons included said only Happy Birthday; not quite the message I was trying to send. And to top it off, the side order of chocolates never even made it (yes, they did try to charge me). Obviously there was no real way to have the situation rectified. When I explained what happened the next day they offered to go out and pick up the delivered arrangement and replace it with what was originally ordered. This was not acceptable since it was "after the birthday". The picture in on the website showed 5 balloons with "Over the Hill." Trying to get some compensation has been a horrible. At this point it seems they are going to credit me for the chocolates. They also called my boss's executive assistant and apologized. All in all, it was extremely frustrating for me and this is not a company I would trust.
Description of Work: Ordered an "Over the Hill" balloon/flower arrangement to be delivered out of town to my boss.
